Before I die, I feel the urgency to write you.
I had believed, in your God-given wisdom, you understood His words at Genesis 1:26 ... "and to have in subjection every living creature that is moving upon the face of the earth." But I see you do not.
This One, in His infinite love and wisdom, who has so exquisitely woven the pattern into a delicate butterfly wing and who has breathed the breath of life into a warm, affectionate puppy, did not, in all his heart, intend for our subjection to be cruel and inhumane treatment.
If, in the name of science, the roles were reversed and you, my human friends, were sacrificed on behalf of us — in the same inhumane manner — how loud would be your cries of injustice!
If you do not respect the sanctity of life and happiness for us, how will you respect the lives of your fellow humans?
Life is life no matter who wears it.
Your newspapers bespeak loudly the horrors you wreak, one upon the other. Perhaps, if you had learned to love us better, you might have loved one another more.
Some of you will remain blind and some of you will continue to fight for our dignity.
I beg you, do not give up.
Sincerely,
A laboratory animal who has lost the will to live.
