Throughout her four years at South High School, Kiana Camile McClanahan participated in numerous activities in school as well as in the community. She was a four-year member of South High Color Guard. She also participated in tennis, softball and track.
Kiana was the Junior Class Vice President and the Senior Class President of the Associated Student Body. Kiana received the honor of being inducted into the National Honor Society, was on Honor Roll for four years and maintained a 3.8 GPA.
Her biography is published in the “Who’s Who Among American High School Scholars.” Kiana received the Spirit Award for Color Guard, was crowned Princess at the winter formal and was Homecoming Queen.
Kiana is a member of Black Student Union, Registered Nurse Explorer Program, National Youth Leadership of Medicine, Kern County Student Leadership, California Scholastic Foundation, Christian Club, and “We the People.” She has done volunteer work with Sequoia Middle School, Jamison Center, and Linda Larma Dance Academy.
Kiana is a member of Cain Memorial AME Church. Her favorite scripture is, “With God, All Things Are Possible.”
Kiana, with your special talents and unique gifts, you have the ability to make your dreams come true. Head out for new adventures, don’t be afraid to reach for the stars, because you deserve all the best that life has to offer. May you walk with pride today, with hope tomorrow and with faith always.
Kiana will graduate from South High School May 30, 2007. She was selected to participate in an Internship with Chevron for the summer of 2007. Kiana will continue her education at San Jose State University majoring in Micro-Biology.
