There are people out there that commit murder every day and get away with it. People that have diseases like Hepatitis C and Syphilis. Many times, they are silent killers until it is too late. A perfect murder of unknowing victims.
Unfortunately, I know one of these persons. Spreading their legs and spreading their disease without care. Their victims unaware of the danger that has been bestowed upon them. Slowly and painfully causing havoc inside their immune system until it is too late for treatment. If only the accused would have completed their treatment and doctor’s recommendations or just would have been cautious enough to discuss their disease with their partner.
Being drunk or high is no excuse. I am tired of hearing that “But I was drunk and I didn’t know what I was doing”. If you drink and drive and then kill somebody you go to jail but if you pass on a life threatening illness that kills silently and causes long-term effects you go on unnoticed.
Do they not realize the smoking gun they hold between their legs? I firmly believe that when one is diagnosed with one of these diseases and others included they should be locked in a chastity belt with an audible alarm. I know that idea sounds far-fetched but the embarrassment of an alarm going off and alerting authorities just might make them weary enough to stop and think about the consequences of their actions.
The worst part is when they decide to have children. The children are innocent victims and did not decide to have a life filled with medicines and constant doctor’s care. Not to mention the abnormalities that can become of them.
I know someone affected by this. He was born with a hole in his heart that will not close on its own. He does not get the medical treatment that he needs because his mother is too busy drinking and snorting Meth to care. That is child neglect.
What ever happened to Children’s Welfare? She receives a welfare check each month but none of that goes to her three kids. Welfare is aware of her drug abuse; she spent time in jail for it. They are also aware of her disease.
Instead, the children’s necessities are taken care of by their great-grandmother who just can’t stand to see the children suffer. Why is the Welfare Department not testing her for drugs and holding her accountable for her own children and her actions? Why are they not making sure that her children are seen regularly by their pediatricians and receiving the treatment that they need? Maybe they should be charged with Murder 2 when someone who has slept with this un-named person comes down with her disease because they are allowing it to happen or when one of her children dies because of complications from Hepatitis C.
What will happen when her youngest dies because of the malformation of his heart due to the Hepatitis C? Will she be charged? I highly doubt it. Even though it was because of the disease she carries and spreads without remorse to others. Society has let this happen for much too long and soon all of the diseases that could have been prevented will be out of control. The children that have suffered will continue on this legacy due to lack of intervention and the whole world will suffer in its mist because we turned a blind eye and let it happen.
We can stop this by taking a stand, putting our feet down and saying enough is enough. Make them pay by charging them with child abuse. Even though it's harsh, that is what they do, for subjecting their children to their disease. Murder in the first degree, they are accountable for their own actions and can keep their legs closed. If each one of these people were held accountable and sentenced for their crimes our health epidemics would decrease drastically. Our children will be able to live in a better world.
But we have to make the choice to put an end to the carelessness we have allowed to go on for too many years. Now is our time, so let’s join hands and spread the word that we are tired of living in this world of disease and we are going to put a stop to the cause of it all, human neglegence.
