I never post on here but for once would like to add a small taste of my opinion.  Although I know as soon as it is posted I will be told how wrong my opinion is.  I for one support our troops to the fullest extent.  I have many friends who are overseas right now and have lost 2 very close to me.  My grandfather fought in World War II and was honored in this years Veteran's Day Parade.  I think people are so paranoid that someone is out to get them that they forget there might possibly be no "hidden agenda".  Someone might just be looking out for you.  War has always been a part of our history.  I don't want to be at war as much as any of you but sometimes it is a necessity.  If a stranger was harming your child would you try to talk it out with them and be polite?  No.  You wouldn't.  You would be irate.  I am irate that people had the nerve to fly our planes into our buildings and kill our people!  I think it is a necessity for us to be at war right now.  If we quit now they will only come back again.  If you are waiting on the world to change by means of sitting back and avoiding conflict you have one long wait.  These things require action.  You all will be singing a different tune when you get your wish and we withdraw our troops and then the war moves here to be fought on our land.  Then it will be thanks to you that more of our people  will be lost.  God bless America!  And God bless our troops!

Kelly:You are right on the money with your post.

There are far too many people whose abject hatred of GWB clouds their common sense and I believe on some absurd primal level, they actually WANT us to fail so they can point their fingers and yell "I told you so!" at the top of their lungs not for once thinking THEY will be the primary cause of a military failure by refusing to support the troops.

They pay a stupid lip-service to the troops by saying "I support the troops but not the war." which is absurd. To support the troops, you have to support their mission and fund thair actions in a mannner that actually allows for a win. I have several neighbors whose sons are in the hot zones of Iraq and Afghanistan (not pencil pushers, but actual shooters) and THEY believe in the war and what we are doing. Further, they are mad as hell at those who only pay the aforementioned lip service.

I'm sure the "usual crowd" will lambaste you for your post, but a whole lot more agree with you. Your post is a breath of fresh air in an otherwise beat-up subject. Thanks!

I support our troops but they are being misused in a war to secure the Iraqi oilfields for multinational corporations. Bring. Them. Home.

Kelly I agree but I disagree. I think that we were in the war for the right reasons. Were bring the key word. I am irate also. Heck yes we had the right reasons for going over there. But now i think it is time to come home. We have already achomplished what we wanted to over there. So lets bring our troops home. So Kelly I agree that we were over there for good reasons but now its time to come home.
