The Child Guidance Foster Family Agency is hosting the SOFTBALL SMASH 2007!

The adult co-ed softball tournament will take place on Saturday, September 29, 2007 at North Rosedale Park at 3635 Jewetta Avenue.  The tournament starts at 8:00 a.m. and goes all day.  We are anticipating having up to 250 players.  The Agency relies on the revenue from successful fundraising activities to ensure that we continue to operate and provide much-needed foster care support services to Kern County children and families.  We are part of the Henrietta Weill Memorial Child Guidance Clinic, a non-profit organization serving the children and families of Kern County for over 60 years.  In establising the Agency, the Clinic strives to effectively train and support foster families to aid the increasing number of foster children in Kern County.

There are many ways you can help!  Listed below are the ways you can help out with the SOFTBALL SMASH 2007:

• Put together a team ($250 per team)
• Sponsor the event ($500 or $1000)--Call for details!
• Purchase a catalog ad ($50-business card size; $100-quarter page; $150-half page; $200-full page)
• Sponsor a field ($150)
• Vendor booth-10'x10' ($125)
• Donate food and drinks for snack bar
• Donate raffle prizes--we are hoping to have a bat donated (i.e. Worth Launch, Anderson Matrix or Easton Synergy--they cost between $200-$375 but will be a great raffle prize); also gloves, apparel, jackets, etc.

Please come out Saturday, September 29, 2007 and cheer on the teams helping us to raise the awareness of the need for foster homes here in Kern County.  It will be a great day of fun, food and fundraising!  Please call our Marketing Director, Patty Keefer, or you can call me, Penny Reilly at 322-1021 to arrange your donation.  You can also email me at pennyr@hwmcgc.org.
