Although I am a retired senior citizen, I have been working closely with the Housing Authority of Kern County. I am also working with the state for more and better housing for the poor and homeless.

I have recently been selected to attend the State Housing Conference in Long Beach in December. I have been given a scholarship to attend, which will cover my travel and housing expenses, as well as my meals.

I would like to thank Gene St. Armand of the State Housing Authority for giving me this opportunity to be a voice for the homeless and mentally disabled. I have long been an advocate for housing for the homeless.

I look forward to the trip and will give a complete report on my return.
