     The Cioppino dinner includes a fresh, crisp salad accompanied by delicious Pyrenees sourdough bread. Clams, bursting with flavor are the second course. The tangy Cioppino sauce is a secret to die for. It includes the freshest of ingredients; tomatoes, onions, garlic and if the West Rotary gave away the rest it wouldn’t be a secret anymore! The sauce is then layered in bowls with crab legs, shrimp and fresh fish and served on the tables piping hot. Wine is served throughout the dinner while great coffee and desert tops off a festive evening.

     In previous years the 400 attendees have been entertained by a great silent and oral auction. But the real winners are the youth charities that have benefited throughout the years. Here’s a sample of many of the organizations that have received grants from West Rotary in the past: Adaptive Aquatic Center, Assistance League, Bakersfield Homeless Center, Bakersfield Rescue Mission, Boy Scouts, Boys & Girls Club, Buena Vista Museum, CASA, Girl Scouts, Greenfield Foundation for Success, HEARTS Connection, Junior Achievement, MARE Riding Center, Police Activities League and VBF Healthy Start Program.

     For the past five years the event had been a total sell out. This year will be no exception. Tickets are still available by calling Howdy Miller at 747 5380.
