THE SALVATION ARMY TO HOLD DONATION DRIVE

AT CENTENNIAL HIGH SCHOOL

The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center (ARC) of Bakersfield will be hosting a Donation Drive with the community at Centennial High School on Saturday, March 22.

The Donation Drive will allow members of the community the convenience of donating items without having to schedule a pick-up.  The Salvation Army truck will be present in the student parking lot on Hageman Road on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.  Receipts for tax purposes will be available.

Donations of usable goods—such as clothing, appliances, furniture, linens, toys, household items and other goods—are collected and brought to The Salvation Army’s warehouse at 200 19th Street.  The goods are processed and distributed to the Thrift Stores at 120 19th Street and 4130 Ming Avenue in Bakersfield, and 162 W. Olive Street in Porterville.  Proceeds acquired from the Thrift Store operations support the organization’s Adult Rehabilitation Center, which provides support and counseling at no cost to those with alcohol and drug addictions in the community.

For more information on The Salvation Army’s programs and services, call (661) 325-8626, or to schedule a free pick-up call 1-800-SA-TRUCK or go online to www.satruck.org.
