We have been Foster Parents with Kern Bridges Youth Homes since November 2004.  Tisha’s parents have been foster parents for over 10 years and this inspired us to become foster parents, even though we had children of our own.

We knew that there were many children in Bakersfield that needed a place to call home while their family and home situations could be corrected or improved.  We really believe that we can make a difference and help the Bakersfield community.  Even though we have experienced some challenges with a few children that have come through our home, this has not stopped us from continuing to assist those families that need our help. 

We have worked with Kern Bridges for four years and our experiences with Kern Bridges have been nothing but favorable, with them providing training to better assist us and guide us in providing a safe environment for the children. We believe Kern Bridges has an excellent reputation and does everything possible to assist their foster families.

Kern Bridges is geared for the children by providing extra curricular activities with Social Workers and Foster Parents working together, such as camping trips, summer activities, holiday parties and bring smiles to children’s faces.
