My mom is the most cold-hearted person in the world — I used to think. Why is my mom so mean to me? Why is my mom so hard on me? Does my mom even love me? The answer to that last question is obvious: Of course she loves me. Sometimes in an immature child’s mind those questions reveal themselves. As a child, we do not realize that what we call “love” is not getting our way at all times and a mother with a smile on her face consistently. Mothers, to me at least, had to be passive, child-spoiling, cookie-baking individuals and anything less was not love. My mother showed me what a real mom is and, to say the least, it wasnt my fantasy.
I learned from my mom that a parent is a well-rounded person that teaches right from wrong. She always let me know when I was heading down the wrong path and even gave me room to make the mistake, only to give me further teaching. At first, like many kids at my age, I felt that her approach was wrong, but taking a look at the world today I would not change a thing. Growing up a young man these days is sometimes overwhelming and my mom as foundation is great reinforcement. To put together this long drawn out thought into words, I LOVE YOU MOM!!!! Thank you for being firm with me and showing that Valentina Jones is a mother of all mothers, I feel sorry for my younger brothers though.....just kidding HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!
