My mother raised nine children. Mom loved to work in her yard and I think she enjoyed making the neighbors think we were mean!
Mom mowed the lawn with a push mower. Mom didn’t think we could do it right. So we would sit around and watch her work. She would laugh at us when people would sound off about her working so hard and we weren’t doing anything to help.
Mom would take walks in the foothills and come back packing rocks. We have rocks everywhere. If we walked with her, she would spot the rocks and we would carry them for her. If the rocks were too big, she would call one of the family to go after them in a truck.
I had the honor and privilege of taking care of Mom until her passing.
