Families are invited to celebrate summer reading at a festival centered around books and literacy sponsored by the Kern Reading Association, Target, The Breeze, and Barnes & Noble.  Students presenting completed reading logs at the gate can get their whole family into the museum for a variety of summer activities.  Book Blast features costumed readers and characters, arts and crafts, and plenty of fun.  Children can earn tickets for rach story heard.  The tickets are good for a great prize drawing which begins at noon.  Come as your favorite book character and get an extra chance for a prize!  Some refreshments available at no charge, others available for a minimal fee. Call 661-852-5000 to find out where to get your free reading log and begin your summer reading adventure or visit www.kcmuseum.org
