Wednesday nights Kern County ASA High School Senior All-Star Game was a complete success as 25 of Kern County's finest young ladies got together for a fun evening of great softball, and it was a great game won by the East 6-5 over the West. Those players that missed attending and taking part missed out a a once in a life time memory. The stands were packed with fans. Good eats were had at the snack bar. All the players received game T-shirts, courtesy of "Supreme Bean" Coffee along with framed certificates of participation. Next year will be even better!

Barbara SantaCruz was in attendance to receive her 2008 Kern County ASA "Woman of Softball" award, which was very deserved. I will now be taking nominations for next years award. If anyone knows a very deserving person, contact me.

I would like to thank all 3 local TV stations for attending and giving us such great coverage on the 11:00pm news (I managed to watch all 3 of you) and thanks to the Bakersfield Californian for it's great coverage. Thanks to all the local media in attendance. There is and will be a lot of paper clipping going on this week as players save the articles. GREAT JOB ALL OF YOU!  Thanks, the girl's that were there deserved it!! Next year we will be bigger and better! That's a promise!!

Each year we will be giving out a scholarship to one of the previous years players. This year we will award the "Supreme Bean Coffee" scholarship of at least $200 to Aly Rosales, 2007 Golden Valley player and this year a Bakersfield College player our scholarship.
