On June 12, 2008, the Kern County Paralegal Association announced the recipient of the prestigious and highly coveted "Paralegal of the Year" award.  This year's award went to Jennifer Rodges, CP, CAS, ACP.  Ms. Rodges has been a paralegal since 1989.  In 2002, she sat for a rigorous, 2-day examination and earned her Certified Paralegal designation. In 2003, she obtained an additional designation as a Certified Advanced Specialist in the area of civil litigation.  This year, she passed the Advanced Paralegal Certification program to receive the Advanced Certified Paralegal (ACP) designation in trial practice.  The "ACP" is a certification and designation that has been awarded to very few paralegals nationwide, and she is the first paralegal in Kern County who has obtained it.

Ms. Rodges joined Klein, DeNatale, Goldner, Cooper, Rosenlieb & Kimball in 2000 where she works as a paralegal and secretary to the managing partner. Ms. Rodges is responsible for training all new secretaries and paralegals and participates in screening and interviewing new applicants. Her experience and knowledge of the Law is invaluable to those who employ her, work alongside her and to the clients served by her.  Never forgetting her grassroots, she is a mentor to many of her co-workers and paralegal students.

Ms. Rodges has been a regular member of Kern County Paralegal Association since 2000. She currently serves as the association’s Secondary Representative to the California Alliance of Paralegal Associations. In this capacity she attends conferences and board meetings around the state several times a year promoting the paralegal profession.  She formerly served on the board for the Commission for Advanced California Paralegal Specialization (CACPS), and is currently charged with writing one of the modules for their web-based assessment program for the Advanced California Specialization designation.
