I think the way that people are treating my brother Michael is wrong. Yeah, he was the driver in the accident, but he shouldn't be treated badly for their deaths. Everybody has their time when God calls them home and it was the time. Don't you people believe in God at all and in faith? If you all don't, I do! People say that the judge should take my brother's case to trial. Well, don't you people belive in second chances and in forgiveness? How would you all feel if it was your son or daughter that was in a car crash and two people died in the accident with them? You guys would feel the same way we do. It's bad enough that I haven't seen my brother in over three years. Don't take him away from me and the rest of our family and his kids forever. Be faithful and forgiving. God works in mysterious ways and at any given time the show could be on the other foot and it could be your son or daughter sitting behind jail cell bars for something serious. How would you feel?

You're worried about not seeing your brother while he is locked up in prison? What about the families of the people he killed? They will never see them again...EVER! He was WRONG! He was DRUNK! So by your standards, we should just give the OK for people to drink and drive on a regular basis. He broke the law... bottom line... and he should be punished. Talk about putting the shoe on the other foot.... what if he was the passenger and he died. What would you expect to happen to the person responsible? You would want them to be punished to the full extent of the law.

Hey, I have a suggestion, why don’t you try to look at it from the VICTIMS point of view instead of feeling sorry for yourself and your CRIMINAL brother. Im sure you are sad that you brother totally jacked his life up but why should anyone feel sorry for him? Try feeling sorry for the people he killed and for their families. You can feel bad all you want but think about the families of the victims…. VICTIM being key word here… you brother did this to them..nobody did it to him! Whatever happens now is on him and its something he will have to live with everyday and the fact that you and your family are sticking up for him and saying what he did was not wrong is just messed up. You talk about God being a major factor in this so maybe you should go pray for forgiveness…. Because its people like you that make people like your brother think that drinking and driving is okay…I happen to be a victim of a serious drunk driving accident on the same HWY and its something that I have to live with everyday, the pain, the memories, the scars, the physical disabilities, and the nightmares…. I came very close to losing my life because some idiot decided they wanted to drive drunk..its not cool, its not funny, and its definitely NOT OKAY!! There’s a reason they have a law against it, or did you think that was just a suggestion, because apparently that’s what your brother thought and he got proven wrong didn’t he? So before you go ranting and raving about how upset you are because your brothers life is messed up and his families as well think about how stupid it makes you sound..because the people he killed(yeah, they were people!! Real live people with families and lives!!!) will never get to experience anything again, and their families will never get to see them..>EVER..so how about you just shut up, because you have NO idea what you are talking about!!And yes, I DO!!

You need to get real.
Your brother killed 2 people. It's got nothing to do with God working in mysterious ways and calling them home. That is so offensive and insulting to anyone with half a brain.
I hope your brother goes to trial and I hope I'm on the jury.

Okay, so obviously you are in shock! Because you are putting this off on God and society-do "We People believe in second chances?: - For the most part our society is forgiving but when is enough, enough? Has your brother not already been given a second chance? Is he not the same person that has changed his name from Michael Banner to Michael Montgomery? And plead out a case of assault with firearm on a person, attempted murder, and carrying a loaded firearm without registration, when he was 17 years old, serving a meagar 70 days in juvenile Hall, out of a 2 year prison sentence?
Forgiveness? HA!!
How about REALITY.... We do have laws in this country, and they are mean't to protect "you people" from criminals such as your brother. Do you not understand the devastation the families of the victims are going thru right now? Your brother took someones's child, sister, brother, mother, cousin or whatever relationship away from another persons family. They will not be able to see or feel that person again. They will never be able to talk to them again. Oh so poor you., you will have to go to prison to see your brother! This is a very personal issue for me. My daughter was hit by a drunk driver last year and greatfully she lived thru it. So I have zero tolerence for drunks. And society should punish your brother to the full extent of the law. He knew he was drunk and still got behind the wheel of a vehicle and drove, not only himself but others as well. He took on the responsibility of their lives when he started the engine of that vehicle.
No sympathy here. And I would hope and pray that most of our society feels that he needs to be punished. Actually I am quite surprised at how many people have viewed this and not commented.
