The Old Friends of Bakersfield Car Club hosted the Fabulous Fifties Car Show on Saturday, Oct. 4, at the Olive Knolls Church of the Nazarene. Fun things included a bounce house, goodie bags for the kids, and raffles for the adults. The purpose of the event was to raise money for the MOVE program, which makes equipment available for severely handicapped children and adults. We had 139 very fine classic and collector cars and street rods gather for a good time and friendship. This made it possible for us to donate $2,000 to the school at Olive Knolls Church of the Nazarene and $22,500 to the MOVE program administered through the Kern County Superintendent of Schools office. We wish to thank the many, many sponsors that helped make this event possible.
