CSUB welcomes over 700 high school seniors for open campus

Over 60 Central Valley high schools are invited to participate in California State University, Bakersfield’s open campus program slated for Thursday, Oct. 30, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Organizers expect 750 high school seniors and 50 high school counselors to attend.

The program is designed to provide an introduction of the academic and student programs offered at CSUB to high school seniors. Students will have the opportunity to meet university faculty, staff and students. They will also be able to tour the campus and the residence halls, learn more about financial aid, scholarships and student services.

The program activities are as follows:

- 8:30 to 9 a.m.    Check-in at the Icardo Center
- 9 to 9:45 a.m.    General session in Icardo Center
- 10 to 11 a.m.      Campus tours for students
- 10 to 11 a.m.      Information session for high school counselors in the Business Development Center
- 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.  Academic and student services fair in Runner Park
- 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.  Lunch and entertainment in Runner Park
