It was a beautiful three days in Bakersfield this past weekend (Oct 24-26) as those in opposition to proposition 8 exercised their free expression of speech and assembly at three different intersections on three different days. Instead of dwelling on the unpleasantness that Ken Mettler provided Friday night, Saturday and Sunday's demonstrations showed how positive Bakersfield's response can be to those who want to live and love who they choose.
