Location: 3011 Mount Pinos Way, Frazier Park, CA 93225

 Follow a professional naturalist on a free guided moonlight tour of the hills behind the Frazier Park neighborhood.  Fill your belly with a tasty barbecue dinner (carnivore and vegetarian options) at Sweet Potato BBQ.  Then hike up Walnut Trail in the chilly night air to a glorious view of the surrounding area.  Chances of encountering nocturnal wildlife.  Enjoy the stars and the Autumn silence.  Inhale the sweet fragrances of Great Basin Sagebrush and Rabbitbrush.  Appreciate the rustic beauty of the San Emigdio Mountain Range within the Los Padres National Forest.

 
Who: All ages (minors must be with parent or guardian)
 
Where: Meet at least 30 minutes before start time at Sweet Potato BBQ's new location: 3011 Mount Pinos Way, Frazier Park, CA 93225 (sharing space with Coffee Cantina), 661-245-3166.  Tour destination is at the end of Walnut Trail - Los Padres National Forest Boundary.
 
Difficulty: Easy to Moderate (depending on level of experience).  Roughly 2-3 miles round-trip (up a hill and back).
 

Special Instructions/Supplies: Please arrive at least 15 minutes before start time.  Bring 1 quart of water per person.  Wear weather protection (jacket, etc.), durable hiking socks and shoes (extra pair for wet tours), long pants, and backpack for snacks.  Bring first aid kit and cell phone.  Bring flashlight and layered clothing for evening tours.
