La Viña Middle School 7th grade AVID student Arielle San Antonio will be attending the Junior National Young Leaders Conference (JrNYLC) in Washington, DC from March 8-13, 2009.  She was nominated by 7th/8th grade AVID teacher Victoria Ho, “because of the leadership she showed in class.” At the week long conference she will be studying different leaders and their impact in this world and the characteristics the leaders demonstrated.

According to the JrNYLC website:  “The Junior National Young Leaders Conference (JrNYLC) helps scholars develop and sharpen their leadership skills by examining the leaders of the past and empowering them to make a positive social impact in their community and the world.”

We are very proud of Arielle and confident she will return with plenty to share for the class, school, and community.
