Guest Reader, Deputy Nick Evans, cheerfully fielded questions and comments from Room K-1 kindergarteners at Owens Primary School. After reading two color-mixing stories and 2 cloud stories, Deputy Nick Evans thrilled the students by giving each child White Rabbit's Color Book. A grant from First Book provides this fabulous opportunity to enrich the children’s lives with books. The grant provides each child with six books to treasure, read and keep at home. Guest readers convey a love for literacy as they present students books to own, not just to borrow. Room K-1 has received the FIRST BOOK Grant for the last six years, enabling 120 students to become owners of 6 books each—awesome and phenomenal!
