I would like to congradulate my son, LCPL David Cole Lang, for his honorable discharge after serving in the Marines for 4 years. Cole has served two tours in Iraq and his last deployment was in Afghanistan, where his platoon, 2/7...

The war in Iraq

I can’t believe it has been a month since I said good-bye to my husband. I can now say I have officially survived one whole month of deployment. Wow! One month … gone just like that, oh sure -- I can handle this....

This is to inform all of Bakersfield of a very special person. His name was Brandon A. Parr. He was killed March 3 while serving in Baghdad, Iraq. He was not remembered as a hero here in Kern County. He was buried in Utah because that...
