It was so fun to hear identical Lil Wayne songs playing on two Bakersfield radio stations at the same time, but sadly that's coming to an end.
Play 103.9's last day is today.
"Sadly, the economy has impacted us as sales have suffered to the point of us closing down,” says APD/morning...

So, I was listening to 95.3 KLLY on my way to work this morning and they said that there is a Chevron near Mesa Marin that will be having gas for $1.56 for some promotion...tomorrow, I think. They said it wasn't a joke but I haven't been able to find it anywhere so I am not sure.
Does...

You might think it's the end of the world if it weren't for the oddly comforting movie quote or two. KBKO-FM, 96.5 on the dial, is airing this freaky robotic male voice counting down to, oh, I don't know, an alien takeover?
As I write these lines roundabout 5:31 p.m. Friday, the voice (which...

KPPC talk show host Patt Morrison did a radio segment today called "Marry-Go-Round" in which she talked to three county clerks (Contra Costa, Butte and Merced) and Bakersfield Californian county government reporter James Burger. Apparently Kern County's own clerk, Ann Barnett, wasn't...

The mayor candidates will be on Quality of Life next week, 9 a.m. Tuesday on 89.1 FM. The interviews will be pre-recorded, individual interviews, unfortunately. Probably the fact that the studios are in Fresno and they were dealing with four people is why.
Meanwhile, I've heard Ken Weir will be...

I commute 45 minutes to Delano every morning. The nice thing about it was the ability to collect my thoughts for the coming day and be brought up to date on all the latest news and traffic info by Bill Curtis and Dawnelle Sullivan. Their witty banter and straightforward news delivery made for a...

The police released their radio traffic from the night that Officer Dennis Eddy was shot in the chest and leg and gang leader Leon Anderson Jr. was killed.
The audio came in several smaller chunks that we have edited together, so there may have originally been gaps between some of these segments.

OK, well ol' Ace used to think, "Who in their right minds would shell out good money to pay for satellite radio, when they can listen to the same ol' tired crap for free on regular FM radio?"
So a couple of years ago when I bought my Infiniti G35, I passed on installing Syrius.
But...

I am a musician. Not a great one, but a musician nonetheless. I have been playing guitar since 1976 and have played in a few bands and been in countelss jam session. I am, at heart, a Classic Rocker, but have played in Country, Rock and Christian bands, but for now let's concentrate on Country.

Klly 95.3 put out a notice to their newsletter subscribers that Clear Channel has fired Jamie, Jack & Stench. So they will no longer be on in the mornings. I was not an avid listener but there were times I would land on that channel and would crack up listening to them talk to certain guests...

This absolutely pisses me off. The Dodgers were down 9-5 in the 9th inning, and hit two home runs to get within 9-7. Then, KNZR cuts the game off in the middle of the 9th inning with no outs!!! They turned the game to Coast to Coast AM with the dodgers down two. I love...
