The idyllic mountain community of Stallion Springs in Tehachapi is known for its golf course with a house-sized boulder in the middle of the 18th fairway, peaceful mountain living, old men walking small dogs, and not much else.
It's not known for gangs.
And residents intend to keep it that way....

The graffiti-covered wall at Dracena and H streets that I blogged about Monday was painted over Tuesday. But now on my way to work this morning, another tagger has hit the wall again. When will it end? Never. But I'll keep reporting it to the City of Bakersfield's graffiti hotline (32-ERASE) and...

I know many people complain about the loud motorcycles that race through their neighborhoods and how they would love the police to ticket these people. I'd love that too. We have kids who get on dirt bikes and race up and down the alley and canal area raising up dust and making a lot...

I read the article in the Bakersfield Californian about the young man who was shot for giving the "wrong" response to the question, "Watts up?" I imagine he thought they asked, "What's up" and was trying to be friendly by returning their...

Thursday, the Breaking News Team posted a press release from the Delano PD alerting the public to a possible gang initiation that would involve the gang members rear ending someone, then shooting the driver.
The media was all over it, as noted in this previous Bakosphere blog.
Lucky for us,...

Again how I know all this because I live in my neighborhood. I don’t stick my head in the sand when I step outside. I notice things in my yard and around my yard and they make a lot of noise so I pay attention to what is happening around my home.
here is where neighbor has been...

Question....Cracking down on 6 members of a motorcycle gang when there are thousands here involved in street gangs...I know that BPD and KCSD can only do so much but how about a little press about what is being done about street gangs. My family and I were at the Valley Plaza last...

Forgive me if I seem to be profiling here, but has anyone considered that four, young hispanic males attempting to murder and burn down the home of an apparently random person could be involved in gang activity?
This is the exact sort of thing that could earn gang members some serious leverage,...

I never gave this person my phone number and have never said it was okay for her to phone me.
Can anyone translate the attached mp3 phone message?
I think this is the woman who keeps sending her relatives to harass me because I keep telling people about their illegal activities which include...

You know, when they say, "We are not safe", it's only to make you feel, not safe. To keep you going with the plan. I mean he tossed out the constitution, tapped all our phones and computers, no more habeas corpus, Hired millions of...

(With apologies to The Police [the rock group of yore])
I was sickened driving through McFarland's east-of-the-freeway streets yesterday for a follow-up on the latest gang violence.
Blatant gang graffiti dominated certain areas, especially along San Lucas, where three have been killed so...

Followed today from our home to a local shopping mall this mexican male wearing a red baseball cap and black sunglasses pulled in behind us, parked, and sat watching as we went into the store. He then sat outside as we watched him from the shopping mall window.

Every time the person in this red car or the drivers in the other two vehicals (but particularly the red car) are in the area we have a rise in trespassing, burglary, minor theft, and one of our animals is killed or goes missing. I'm hoping someone out there will recongize one or all...
