It's not exactly a white Monday in Bakersfield, but our neighbors to the east in the Kern River Valley are spoiled with the stuff. Check out these photos from today's snowfall, and find out what the snowy conditions mean for our local skiing/snowboarding resort. But it's not all fun and games....

I made my first trek up to Alta Sierra, formerly Shirley Meadows, to ski on Saturday and was really impressed. If you can appreciate a small ski resort for what it is, or if you've ever wanted to try skiing/snow boarding or take a trip with friends of mixed skill level, this is as a great place...
