Are Superheroes The New Gods?
Are people going overboard with comic book superhero worship? Read my article, "Book Claims Superheroes New Gods" about the new book, "Our Gods Wear Spandex." Now, the article is different than the video I shot and edited which you can see here on YouTube. The article is commentary and an interview with author Chris Knowles. The video is an interview with three local comic book afficionados. I think you will be amazed at what they have to say. 7 comments from 5 users

I never got into comic books, except for Fat Freddy's Cat. Whether you're into comics or not Crumb is a must see film. posted by

Comic books and movies are the new mythology. More believable than the old. . I heartily recommend "Unbreakable," by the way. I think it's better than "The Sixth Sense." posted by

Fat Freddy's Cat was hilarious... I've seen Unbreakable--a unique vision of dualism.
That's what makes Knowles book so interesting, in how it links comics to not just pop culture and hero worship, but history, mythology and secret societies. posted by
