Bako Talent Headed To Virgin Megastore 'Rock N Read'

I'll be appearing at the Virgin Megastore at Hollywood and Highland Sunday July 13 for the "Rock N Read." I'm bringing two Bakersfield Bands: Norfolk and Dirty Spanglish. I'll be reading some kind of essay piece...

Now check out my related review of Stephanie Kuehnert's punk-crazy novel, "I Wanna Be Your Joey Ramone" in the ABC23 article: "Author Of New MTV Novel Fuses Music, Literature." - Nick, ABC23

Excerpt:

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. -- Fist-in-your-face fiction may have hit the literary mainstream decades ago via the Beat Generation, but that doesn’t mean there’s no room for new gender perspectives and love stories set in the gritty dives of American subculture.

Stephanie Kuehnert’s MTV Books novel, “I Wanna Be Your Joey Ramone” reflects on female misadventures and coming of age in the male-dominated music underground of the 1980s and 1990s. It’s an ode to music scenes, anti-mainstream culture and girl rock bands.

I'm here to talk about music and books, OldBlue. If you don't like how I look, then don't look at me. If you don't like me, then don't comment. I can take personal stabs, but someone who doesn't post their photo is just being a web troll, trying to instigate an online fight. It's really not worth it to comment. I won't be responding to you any further, because you're really showing no class as you've showed in the past. It's easier just to delete your comments.
