Don't be shy! It's just bra talk!
Just so you know, The Bra Shoppe is a Pudiwitr family business. My grandmother, Jean Pudiwitr started the business back in 1972 and today it is ran by my aunt, Susan Pudiwitr. If you've never been, it is a little shop that specializes in custom fitting of bras. Whatever your need may be, the ladies at the Bra Shoppe will be able to accomodate you. This last weekend I stopped in the Bra Shoppe (next to Frugatti's) to complete my bridal registry. The great thing about this is that they can order anything for you. The shop carries tons of great brands that you can't get many other places in town like Wacoal, Le Mystere, OnGossamer, and Chantelle. Things that I registered for included:
Lots of items on my registry come from Wacoal's new line b.tempt'd. This line has tons of cute matching bra and panty sets that come in a variety of colors and patterns. If you're into lace and bows, this line is definitely for you! See what I mean by visiting this website to check out the Spring Collection: http://btemptd.com/ Be sure to bring one of your bridemaids along for this outing! Oh, oh...don't forget about undergarments for your wedding dress. The Bra Shoppe can properly fit you with the appropriate bra for your wedding dress, such as a bustier. Just keep in mind that you should get this before your dress fitting. The right bra can make all the difference! 18 comments from 10 users

...bra and panty sets that are practical, yet cute. ??? Cute panties? Why can't you brides just go to Penny's or something and buy underwear? I went through this with Mrs. Catpaw. Her and a gaggle of friends made a big deal out of everything. I didn't dare ask, "So, who's going to look at your underwear?" Now I know why grooms don't see the bride before the ceremony. She'd find something wrong with his cuff links or tie or something. Anyway, I'm happy for your enthusiasm and new life with your soul mate. Wish you and lucky guy all the best. posted by

The Bra Shoppe does more than just sell cute undergarments. They also help custom-fit bras to your particular shape. And when it comes to bras, not everyone can just grab one off of the shelf at Penney's and find a good fit. Imagine spending all day in a shirt where one sleeve was too tight and you'd be wanting a tailor to fix that right quick; and that's just one of the services they offer. The Bra Shoppe also helps out a lot with breast cancer survivors and other unique needs that can't be met by wandering the racks at Penney's. So there's plenty of need for a store like this, beyond just buying cute undergarments. Not that there's anything wrong with shopping for cute stuff either, but I wanted to point out the practicality it offers too. posted by

I've hated bras from the first time I put one on at age 13. Now I have a happy solution to covering myself up, I wear two shirts. posted by

I shop there for my wife all of the time... they keep all of her sizes in their database so all I have to do is show them what I would like and they do the rest... great staff, real friendly ladies. I love the new (bigger) location posted by

I wonder if I could get a retirement job there. I could learn how to be a bra fitter. I've got a scientific mind.......;-) On a more serious note: Pudiwitr is a unique name. Is there a middle-aged guy in your family named Buddy? Was he a competitive swimmer as a kid? posted by

Tony, granddaughter is a certified bra fitter. No joke, I am not kidding here (well, maybe just a little). No, but really is there such a certification? (not a joke)* Wow !!! There is an actual "certification"? How does one go about "certification"?... weeks of training, testing and then does the "certification inspector" give you a "hands on" exam ? Are there different sized ladies used by the inspectors when one is doing the "hands on" certification... you know, just so they make sure you can "handle" any situation. (joke)* Where does one sign up for training? (joke)* * Just in case some of the folks who have been in here lately that can't tell a joke when they read one can figure things out. posted by

I was kidding too, but if there is such a thing, when I'm old and retired, it'd be a GREAT retirement part-time job. lol. I could actually learn to be an expert at it..... posted by

She worked in lingerie at Dillards in Vegas and they sent her for training. High end stores have people who cater to the well to do who would never dream of buying a bra off the rack at Pennys. They want specialized treatment so the high end department stores provide it. I was thoroughly scolded for wearing the wrong size all these years. It seems we don't really know how to dress ourselves after all. Sad thing is...she was right about me. Eat your hearts out fellas. :-) posted by

Nancy, Give me about 10 more years and I'll be ready to go to that training an change my career. Once trained, I might even be willing to work for FREE part-time. Shoot, every retired person needs a reason (or two) to get out of bed in the morning. lol posted by

I know the fitting ladies exist... they do that at "The Bra Shoppe". I remember the first time we went in there... my wife was in there getting fitted for about 45 mins. Looking back on it, I should have went over to Frugatti's and had a beer or two instead of waiting inside there in a chair (the old small location). A guy sitting by himself for 45 mins. in a place like that causes ones mind to wander. posted by

For anyone who has been frustrated by the lack of selection as "Penny's" or other places with non-certified bra fitters, Susan is a breath of fresh air. Having been gifted (?) with an above average bustline - it is necessary for me to go to specific shops who cater to the well-endowed. It truly is a relief to have someone who knows their business. After I had child #3, and the milk fairy appeared, the cups were well - you know - and Susan gently helped a sleep-deprived mommy get some support. Oh yeah - the prettiness factor does even matter to me anymore - just as long as they fit!! For TOny and G - my hubby is laughing at your comments - as he has said for along time when I would show him the 'pretty' new bras I had acquired - his comment was "boy those are gonna look good on the floor (wink, wink)".........you men are all the same....lol. posted by

Poor Ashleah...shares some excitement about bridal stuff and gets crude comments (me included) from--what else?--men who probably don't worry about changing underwear, let alone buying what's "cute." Couldn't resist the ribbing, Ash. It's a guy thing. Wish you all the success of your big day. posted by
