If I weren't experiencing post-traumatic-stress-disorder and selected-memory blockage, I might know who you mean.

However, I WILL agree that ignoring is FUN!  Everyone should try it!

(edit) I should say that I DO love a good Snicker, though, with or without nuts.

You're one of a kind.  And I mean that in a NICE way.  ;-)

Thanks,  but, Now I have to anoint you  as Rudolph and you cannot play (blog) in any of her Reindeer Games !

It's called censorship.  It's been practiced throughout the centuries by governments who,  unsure of their message, elimanted free speech.

Now it's practiced by bloggers who want the last word at any cost, including their integrity.

"that I DO love a good Snicker, though, with or without nuts."

A line similar to that once sent Lowell Thomas into a giggling fit.  :)

"Thrity thousand or more people were cheering him, all the folks who make Hershey's chocolate, with and without nuts."

posted by gsisola on Dec 13, 2008 at 09:33 AM

That is total BS... I have had my differences with alot of folks on here... including you Audrey... and we have come out of it civilized... if you don't want people to respond to you... positively or negatively... don't post here... start yourself a journal somewhere else... like I said yesterday it is unfathomable to me to block someone unless they are a true and clear threat... at that point I would turn them into TBC pronto. But the free exchange is what *this game* is all about.

Well I don't know about you all..but I'm putting on a pot of Menudo--(with all the trimmings)...washing it down with a COLD beer..turn on the 'tube' and not getting out of my sweats ALL DAY.....that's my plan for the day...sorry to hear about your 'exile' Audrey....just look at it this way....this could keep ones blood pressure down....and there is NO WAY IN 'HECK' she is going to change her point of view on things.....IMHO

posted by AudreyB on Dec 13, 2008 at 09:47 AM

You're right Ling.  I think we've all come to that conclusion.

posted by Lingtaowoo on Dec 13, 2008 at 09:56 AM

Remember when we listened to the stereo and put on an album...and put the needle on the album...every now and then, there was a scratch and it would not advance--just play over and over....some people are the same way...salvage the remaining songs and throw away that album.....IMHO

AudreyB:

I don't hang around here much, but when I do I throughly enjoy your point of view. I have no idea who deleted/blocked you but that seems very childish to me. (Now I probably will be blocked....LOL)

Happy Holidays to the bloggers.

Careful  Ling,  you just dated yourself.  :-)

Some bloggers use "being old" as an argument aginst some of us older guys.  Apparently, we're too old and tired to make sense and should just get out of their way.

Thanks Justathought.

You don't say much, but I always check out your post when you make one.  They are always on point.

You really want to hear something 'crazy'?....I still have the GIANT rolling paper from Cheech and Chongs "Big Bamboo" album...saving it for 'a rainy day'.....My menudo is READY!!!!

Sorry to hear about the lock-out and delete usage. I'm not sure what the point is on many of the anti-Obama blogs posted here recently. I find it pointless to comment anymore on most of them. It gets harder and harder to reconcile with the staunch hardliners who thrive on defammatory innuendo and gossip. The majority of the blog posts from these clones never take issue with a policy action, because Obama is not the President until January 20, 2009.  It is all personal all the time. At the peak of the Holiday Season the personal vitriol against the President elect is really depressing. I have no idea how Barack Obama, or the unions who represent 12% of American workers deserve the anger and hostility being thrown at them this year.

As I watch another Wall Street swindler worth a billion dollars get carted off to jail for the latest Ponzi scheme to only reward himself and his immediate family, I don't think either the unions or Barack Obama should be the ones regularly being questioned about their motives or business dealings. I think the money men need far more scrutiny given the circumstances.

Well said Adam.

Audrey~ why would anybody want to miss your wit and wisdom? Their loss.... After my latest foray...I am going to learn self control.

Happy Holidays JustaThought!

Audrey, sorry you got blocked.  You won't ever be blocked from posting on my blog (if/when I put up something original!) -- we're all adults and should be able to have a decent conversation with others without getting bent out of shape.

posted by AudreyB on Dec 13, 2008 at 10:31 AM

Adam

You said it much more eloquently than I did.  You're right about one thing, a posts which deal only in character assasinations should be be given the attention ithey deserve, none.

Sage and Rettchr

They come, they go.  Hopefully they'll go as swiftly as they came.

LOL Ling--Cheech and Chong was on TV the other day and I thought of you & Sioux.  So who would be Cheech and who would be Chong?  Haha!

Audrey--you're in a growing demographic--FSG, Vanity and I are also blocked.  Of course, no one will ever be blocked from any of my blogs.  So few people comment on them as it is!

Hey Audrey...I had to go back to HER blog one more time and 'yank her chain'...just my way of blowing her a kiss...

its official then the conservative side has elected her "HM" for the right

we are now a fair and balanced Blogging Site

The difference is, HM really IS deaf.  She'd be able to hear perfectly if she'd close her mouth and ake her fingers out of her ears.

Aint blogging and posting wonderful. One can twitch his nose, nod, and make somebody disappear. Just like I Dream of Jeannie.

posted by AudreyB on Dec 13, 2008 at 12:20 PM

After awhile you come to the conclusion that it's not worth your time to post on certain blogs.  I've spent 30 minutes at times writing and reasearching posts before I submit them, only to see them disappear.

posted by tchudilowsky on Dec 13, 2008 at 03:28 PM

I gotta be real dumb cause I don't know who blocked you :-(

posted by tchudilowsky on Dec 13, 2008 at 03:38 PM

oh...ok I figured it out duh. It took so long because I have NEVER read one of her posts. The subject has never interested me.

Audrey, you're always welcome to come and play with me. On the blogs and in real life. We crazy cat ladies need to stick together.

Bako

You sweetheart.   It's people like you who make this nonsense worthwhile.

posted by vanityfair on Dec 13, 2008 at 03:53 PM

Yay! Audrey hasn't blocked me from her blog LOL.

ConservativeCowgirl, what thread was locked by administration? Just wondering.

I have never blocked or deleted anyone ... what's the point? Everyone here is entitled to an opinion. Watching your snit-fit rants and blogs that stray so far off-topic (topics that aren't that interesting anyway) is getting old. In fact, most of your blogs devolve into your personal attacks on those who attempt to have a dialogue.

Vanity

I wouldn't block or delete you (or anyone else).    Even the most bitter arguments can be healed.with time   ; -)

posted by vanityfair on Dec 13, 2008 at 04:10 PM

Thanks Audrey. :) It's a lot of work being a butthead, I just got so tired LOL.

posted by AudreyB on Dec 13, 2008 at 04:17 PM

Yeah

We managed to bury the hatchet (and not in each other's head, tee hee).  I need to make up with Teachercate too.

This last week has shown me the importance of separating  the wheat from the chaff.

posted by CatherineBaker on Dec 13, 2008 at 04:18 PM

Vanity--it's nice to heal former rifts and it's nice when everyone can get along around here.  We're ALL buttheads sometimes, but I really feel I must quote that famous DRAMA QUEEN Scarlett O'Hara here and say, "After all, tomorrow IS another day."  : )

posted by AudreyB on Dec 13, 2008 at 04:54 PM

Cat

You've referenced three movies on this and other threads.  What's up?  You want to borrow Pride and Prejudice again?

posted by sagefever on Dec 13, 2008 at 04:59 PM

I am glad when we can all get along. That is what I love about this country~ you can be an annoying nut like me and still get along enough to treat each other decently! ;-)

posted by CatherineBaker on Dec 13, 2008 at 05:00 PM

LOL!!!

Naw, I think I've got Pride & Prejudice under the tree hehe.  Haha!  Hoho!

posted by vanityfair on Dec 13, 2008 at 05:00 PM

CC33, check again. Ya sure? I also gave you some advice over there. I suggest you think it over.

Sage

There's still hope for world peace if Vanity, Cat, Teachercate and I can resolve to make peace.

posted by AudreyB on Dec 13, 2008 at 05:06 PM

Are you sure he got it for you, or himself.

posted by vanityfair on Dec 13, 2008 at 05:07 PM

Who "wins" by the way? I wasn't aware that this was a game.

BTW, my "silly, insulting thread" was simply asking administration about the "thread locked" message. It was clearly a valid question if you took the time to read Jason's response.

Keep it up, it's people like you that will keep the tech dept  gainfully employed as they have to continue to tweak the system. Your continued delusions of grandeur and insulting attitude are duly noted.

posted by sagefever on Dec 13, 2008 at 05:09 PM

Vanity~ it's not worth it.

posted by CatherineBaker on Dec 13, 2008 at 05:13 PM

I think he got Pride & Prejudice for us both.  You gotta love a guy who likes chick flicks!  Haha!

posted by AudreyB on Dec 13, 2008 at 05:21 PM

Yeah Cat.  I predicted it!

Any of you guys remember Mocus?

posted by vanityfair on Dec 13, 2008 at 05:36 PM

I wasn't around back then but I've heard the stories. A legend in and of ITself!

posted by CatherineBaker on Dec 13, 2008 at 05:40 PM

You were right LOL!!!

He used to mock Pride & Prejudice, saying it was dumb, and silly, and too full of drama, but once I pointed out how truly funny it was, he laughed right along with me.  My all-time favorite line, when Elizabeth refuses Darcy the first time:  "From the very beginning--from the first moment, I may almost say--of my acquaintance with you, your manners, impressing me with the fullest belief of your arrogance, your conceit, and your selfish disdain of the feelings of others, were such as to form that groundwork of disapprobation on which succeeding events have built so immovable a dislike..." etc etc--Austen DOES love her looong sentences, but what a writer!!!  Zow!

posted by AudreyB on Dec 13, 2008 at 05:40 PM

I always wanted to get a copy of the Mocus dictionary.  Unbelievable.

posted by vanityfair on Dec 13, 2008 at 05:44 PM

I was Ms. Bingley in my highschool performance. I was jealous because I wanted to be Elizabeth.

posted by AudreyB on Dec 13, 2008 at 05:49 PM

That was the marriage proposal rejection scene, wasn't it.  LOVED IT.

Vanity, Ms Bingley?   That would have been my first choice.  She was a real 'snot".

posted by CatherineBaker on Dec 13, 2008 at 05:51 PM

LOL Vanity--I love Pride & Prejudice so much, I'd take the role of MRS. Bennet if I could get it.  Austen was a genius!
