I went shopping the other day with family.     I started getting hot in Babies R Us.  Sitting in one of the gliders didn't help and I was sweating by the time we left.

We stopped by IHOP before going home for a bite to eat.  It was crowded with babies.  Babies everywhere.  Which was fine because I enjoy babies.  In fact, we had some with us.  All was fine at first but the longer I sat there waiting for my order, the hotter I got.  Sweat started pouring down my forehead.  I excused myself and went to the ladies room to splash water on my face.  I was OK for a while, but soon felt hot again.  It was all I could do to eat my salad and chicken strips.    The rest of the family members seemed to be fine.

I dropped the family off at the house and proceeded on to Save Mart for a few things we've been out of for days.    It was cool enough in Save Mart but so dark I could have used a miners cap in the pasta section to find what I was looking for.     The trip from the store to my car was agony.  It felt like the sun was actually burning my skin.

At home  we made several trips from the car to the house.   I left the non perishables on the floor of the kitchen in bags and hurried to my bedroom where I closed the shades and turned on the fan.   I finally began to get cool and it was delicious.

Question:  are the stores and restaurants starting to turn the thermostats up and the lights down?    Is the world heating up?   Why does the sun burn my skin after just a few seconds?

Or:  Is my internal thermostat on the fritz and I'm gong blind?
