Politics
I love it, seriously. Where else can you see someone tell a person that they personally attacked him even though they never mentioned their name. Where else can you have your wife go out and put herself in the campaign and then when she is questioned because of what she says, claim, she is not part of the campaign and should not be subject such treatment. Where else can you have a candidate that thinks that any criticism of him is unjust and that he is the savior of the world and we should all be happy to have him raise our taxes and legitimize people that hate us and kill Americans everyday. Ahh Politics its great. I can't wait for Obama to lose.

"Think about it, you buy stuff, it cost more you might buy less. But if it cost less you buy more. I cant get more basic than that." BSuper .U.S. Producer Prices, Minus Food, Energy, Rise 0.4%
May 20 (Bloomberg) -- Prices paid to U.S. producers, excluding food and fuel, rose more than forecast in April, reflecting increases in automobile and furniture costs. The 0.4 percent gain in so-called core prices was twice as big as anticipated and followed a 0.2 percent increase in March, the Labor Department said today in Washington. A drop in energy costs and unchanged food expenses held the total price measure to a 0.2 percent gain. Soaring raw-material costs are likely to hurt profits as a slowing economy prevents companies from raising prices enough to cover expenses. A report last week showed prices paid by consumers rose less than forecast in April.

His point is that Mexicans can get gas for half the price as Americans. Sorta like you can get the same antibiotics for your goldfish for 1/10th the cost you can get for your kid. I can see it now......... Longs/Petsmart....pick up your meds with your flea collars! posted by

I think he just found something that looked intellegent by mistake and posted it without knowing that it is absurd data, have he taken into consideration the liter vs the gallon. The imperial liter vs the gallon. The exchange rate of the crumbling dollar...etc. I think that only the Chico can put it into terms...but he will fancy dance it into a fairy tale, but I have faith he can transcibe it into Oildale folk terms for the slower learners... posted by

This is almost as entertaining as watching all the lefties hoot and holler about how the new congress was going to point America in a new direction. I'm still waiting. Almost as much fun as listening to all the political braintrusts saying Bush would invade Iran. I'm still waiting. Almost as much fun as their certainty that Bush would be impeached. I'm still waiting. Alomost as sickening as hearing them applaud Algore for saying he'd like to see gas at $5 a gallon to attract attention to global warming and alternative energy(which we were already paying attention to)then sniveling like the poor sports they are when it topped $3 a gallon and blaming Bush for it. Are you still waiting for $5 a gallon? Guess it depends on who you support as to what you will accept Ah the hypocracy posted by

Well Mark, Bush has helped stem global warming by the fact that a barrell of oil has gone up over 100 bucks since he took office. posted by

This Obama character is an idiot. Seriously. And anyone out there campaigning and voting for him is an idiot. Apparently there is no longer an acceptable form of criticism towards Obama. Seriously, what can someone say about him without being labeled a bigot? Well, I say he's an idiot. He was an idiot as a state senator, he was an idiot as a U.S. senator, and he's an idiot as a presidential candidate. Goodness. posted by

And you, my friend, are a troll. Have you anything of substance to contribute or is everyone an "idiot" who is juxtaposed to your ideas? How about saying, "I dislike Obama because...". By stating that Obama is an idiot are you implying that McCain or whomever is your choice is a "brainer"? posted by

Moto -- Just look what has happened since Dems took control. Of coors they blame that on Bushco Which they will do for the next 4 years when they have absolute veto and filliburstering proof POTUS, House, & Senate...... Then, when the economy really tanks, they will still blame Bush Like the Scorpion told the Turltle "Its what we do ......!" posted by

It's going to take more than just one man to put us back on the right course. It's going to take a congress that's more concerned about correcting our direction than it is about getting reelected. It's going to take the best econoimic brains this country has to figure out healthy fiscal program. And the best diplomatic and military brains to get us out of Iraq. I'm confident things will get better because Americans always seem to pull together when things are darkest. And, Lord, they're dark now. posted by

I keep tellin' ya...it's the Henny Penny Syndrome. We will never be the country we were in the 1700-1800's. We will never be what we were in the 30's and 40's. We are ever changing and ever evolving as a country and will continue to grow and thrive. It will never be in the same way but then look at the changes since someone looked around and decided they didn't like England bossing them around anymore. The sky isn't falling....it's changing. Have a little faith in us as a people. posted by

Nancy I think our generation always judges itself against the "greatest" generation that came before us. They went through some terrible times and it made them stronger. Maybe our generation needs a crucible to test our mettle. And this could be it. posted by

Sometimes I think one of the worst of our sayings is "In MY day!" In MY day umbilical cords got wrapped around a baby's neck if you hung clothes on the clothesline and you caught a cold if you washed your hair and went to bed with the window open. Hopefully we learn from the past and also realize what happened then won't work now. The founding fathers didn't know, nor could they have foreseen instant communication as in todays world. It gives new meaning to "The shot heard round the world." That was figuritively speaking, now it literally happens. Ben Franklin would have been dancing a jig (while not dancing with the ladies) to see the communications, power plants and technology of today. We have to do what works now. We have to fight enemies who don't know the meaning of Code Of Honor." We have McDonalds and Starbucks. Whoulda thunk in those days that not only could you take the misses to the pub, she's probably been going there longer than you have. This is all rambling sort of in fun but the reality is, This Ain't Kansas Anymore. Maybe it's better. posted by

Jfran, I would call McCain an idiot, but his supporters probably deserve that label more than he. I don't see how they can feel like they know what they're getting with him. He takes a strong stance on a lot of issues, and it's usually on the not so Republican side. So I am completely astonished to see Republicans voting for him. But, at least he has a voting history. And, I'm surprised you demand substance from me when I criticize Obama. He never seems to carry substance in his speeches or arguments. I'll bring substance in to it as soon as he can give me some substance to criticize substantially. Our readers recommend: |
