Well more attack add are coming out against McCain
Yup, they just keep coming, but I havent seen any from 3rd parties against Obama, I surely havent seen any of the neg attacks that Obama gives as his reason for not taking public financing, you remember when he broke his word again. The point is how come it is OK from Dem groups to demonize and distort McCain? Isn't this just a little hypocritical. You can not find any single serious republican, that attacks Obama on race, religion or creed, you can only find them pointing out he goes back on his word, radical associations, and that he does whatever the far left says.and distorts McCain's positions to demonize him. Just last week, he had allowed Muslim women with head scarfs to be excluded form the "shot", just because they were Muslim. Constantly brings up race and uses it for political advantage. the man has no experience, has a complete lack of domestic policy and foreign policy knowledge. His message of change is great but his actions go directly against it. How could you vote for Barrack Obama? A: if you never get past his empty rhetoric. 34 comments from 11 users

Who says they are distortions? McShrub's said a *LOT* of stupid things over the past year, from his "100 years in Iraq" to "bomb, bomb Iran" to the "support mental health--drill offshore." Is it unfair to call stupid statements stupid? . Or am I being unfair to you, BS? posted by

you are being unfair from the get go, you state the hundred year war comment, whcih of course you have no idea is or was. I have posted it multiple times and discussed it, along with everyother politic junkie everywhere. The truth is that you take it out of context and distort it's meaning. McCAin does not want to be at war for a hundred years and you know it. All he said was we could be there in a peace keeping role for how ever long need be and as long as we were not dying like in Korea Germany japan, it would be ok. Let me ask you RF when do we need to leave Korea? Japan? Germany? when I mean you dont want troops there how come you do not say the same from those places? Its because you agree that their is nothing wong but you need to lie about McCain becaouse your candidate can not win against him with out it. thats the truth and I dare you to say different.

It's the distortion of the facts that bothers me. The picking and choosing of events and making a verbal caricature of them. Very few people on this blog twist Obama's name and yet the left on here continually twist McCain's name. I don't get it. The 100 year statement is a perfect example of taking what was said and twisting it to fit the left's agenda. I'm surprised no one brought up Obama's speech the other day where he ended a statement with (possibly paraphrased) "Oh, and did I mention he's black?" It will come. And let's ALL interpret it to mean exactly what we want it to mean. That's what the left does anyway. posted by

You can not find any single serious republican, that attacks Obama on race, religion or creed You are either a blind fool or prolific liar. Famed dirty trickster Floyd Brown - of Willie Horton fame - has released a new web advertisement through his National Campaign Fund PAC, suggesting that Barack Obama is covering up a Muslim heritage. But you'll claim Brown isn't a serious republican and make yourself look even more stupid than you do now.

Obama's words. "We know what kind of campaign they're going to run. They're going to try to make you afraid. They're going to try to make you afraid of me. They're going to say you know what, "He's young and inexperienced and he's got a funny name. Did I mention he's black?" Who is it that's bringing up what? posted by

Is he wrong? Of course not. He's right and that's what bothers the rightwing. He's nipped in the bud one of their attacks by confronting it directly. Rightwing talk radio made his color a big issue, along with "serious republicans" like Coulter, Malkin and O'Reilly. I seem to recall there were a few southern republican congressmen who brought it up as well.

What he said is below. Sounds like our troops in other spots around the world. Now that we have 57 or 58 states according to the Muslim candidate we should be able to find more troops for our all volunteer army. "Maybe 100," McCain replied. "As long as Americans are not being injured or harmed or wounded or killed, it's fine with me and I hope it would be fine with you if we maintain a presence in a very volatile part of the world where AL Qaeda is training, recruiting, equipping and motivating people every single day." Sounds very reasonable to me to have a presence in this area. posted by

Since this is a relatively new type of war and one that can't go away by defeating a government within a boundary, who knows. I know we are there. I wish we were not. I have friends there that I worry about daily. The improvements in Iraq are very encouraging, still I wish we had not went there when we did and the way we did. I am Mon. morning quarterbacking like the majority [honest majority] in this country. If pulling out immediately was what the new Liberal congress ran on, why are we still in Iraq? When do we cut and run? We are still in the process of freeing two countries from tyranny. You can put a time table on it I can't. If we went to Iraq to take the oil why don't we have it? Just a couple of questions that I never seem to get "good" answers on. Good non biased answers. I appreciate your not too out there response to my little bit out there post. posted by

The reason we're still in Iraq is that the Republican minority with some Blue Dog conservative Democratic Congressmen have prevented any meaningful limits being placed on the Commander-in-Chief. Plus, it is not entirely clear if the CiC would actually withdraw forces if he was denied funds. I've been glad to see that the use of the brainless phrase "cut and run" has been decreasing for the past several months. I guess some people refuse to let go (or admit that Obama is not a Muslim, or other brainless claims). The number of "states" was actually the number of primaries, a simple substitution of words not changing the meaning in context. Not like repeating patent falsehoods like al-Queda being trained in Iran.......

McCain is not Bush. If you don't know why I said Obama was the Muslim candidate then the rest of the argument is a waste of my and your time. Does your candidate now state he will withdrawal from Iraq immediately? Why do you only take McCain's statements in pieces not the only Muslim named candidates { just f***ing with you} . I think the liberals will get really shrill the closer the election gets and the more of Obama and his lovely racist wife comes out. But then again I'm just one of the millions that that see through his BS. If his name was Leroy Johnson we would not be having the same discussion. Sad how shallow the liberals around the US are. Don't slap yourself in the forehead, close your fist. posted by

McCain: World War III Would Justify Draft John McCain said last night during a campaign tele-conference that he would bring back a military draft in the United States only in the case of a 'World War III' scenario. Reuters reported: Many Americans are fearful the U.S. government will be forced to reinstitute the draft given the prolonged Iraq and Afghanistan wars.
But McCain may be more open to the draft than it seems. During a July 2006 interview on CNN, McCain was asked about the following statement by Newt Gingrich: "We're in the early stages of what I would describes as the Third World War and, frankly, our bureaucracies aren't responding fast enough." Asked whether he agreed, McCain said: "I do to some extent. I think it's important to recognize that we have terrorist organizations which -- who are dangerous by themselves, are now being supported by radical Islamic governments, i.e., the Iranians, which makes them incredibly more dangerous because they are trained, equipped, motivated and assisted in every way by the Iranians." http://www.huffingtonpost.c...

I saw this piece on the Dan Abrams show. It was far fetched at best. He took two quotes from different times about different subjects and patched them together to imply that McCain is 1. Going to reinstate the draft if we get involved in WW111. 2. Is going to declare the war in Iraq qualifies as WW111. 3. Therefore he is going to reinstate the draft. I hate smarmy, talking heads reporting like this. Regardless of which side it slanders. The news media needs to get out of the policy influencing business. posted by

Does this include the BushCo using paid generals to report onesided propaganda to make his "War" plan digestable to the masses?

Doesn't it bother you that he "pieced" together a supposed poilicy from fragments of quotes? How much of the original intent of the quotes was corrupted? What Abrams produced was not reporting. What he produced was creative literature. Our political process is being driven by the news media. That scares the bejesus out of me. posted by

Audrey, I agree that he had to piece it together from different speeches, but I would disagree that it was "creative literature". McCain has become quite hawkish on Iran, no question. The military is broken, no question. So if we were to engage Iran in a ground war, how would we fight it? We can barely keep soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan. A third ground war would require a draft. That is the practical upshot of a war with Iran. McCain may not come out and say it like that, but those are the pieces, and the internal logic is consistent. He may not actively call for the draft now, but it is the unspoken consequence of a war with Iran. posted by
