City budget $12 million in the hole - keep dreaming!
http://www.bakersfield.com/... The Californian reported that the city will have a $12 million dollar deficit. Keep dreaming! The budget is still too optomistic. Sales tax revenues will be far below the cities projections! How did we get into this soon to be $14 million dollar hole? Wasteful spending! I have noted several items here we could cut out to no avail. I hope the city and county leaders are prepared for this coming mess - when the State starts taking a little extra.

The country's leaders don't care about running up the national debt. Happily gridlocked Sacramento is sending the state deeper in the hole, paying double to cover past bond issues, with more being proposed. With those peers as role models, why should city officials be different? posted by

I heard 3rd party audits of the City financial situation found quite the opposite. I heard there are numerous misc. funds/accounts that are full of cash. Where did all of the fees from development over the past number of years go? I know they haven't been spent of any transporatation or infrastructure issues. posted by
