Here's the thing, BB...people like Refiguy have no shame, so they will never apologize for being wrong.  He asked what President Obama was going to do about it, and on his watch, the navy rescued the captain.  Now Refiguy is acting like Obama had nothing to do with it.

So if this operation had not been a success, it would have been Obama's fault.  But since it had a favorable outcome, there's no possible way that Obama could have been invovled.  Either way, Refiguy will never give Obama credit for anything good.  That's the nature of Republicans.  No matter what Democrats do, it's always bad (even when it's good).

I can't wait to hear what Rush Limbaugh has to say about this tomorrow.  Undoubtedly, he'll say that Obama had nothing to do with it.  Hell, he'll probably say that George W. Bush or Ronald Reagan is responsible for the outcome.

Underthebushes - agree!

I don't listen to Sean "I hate America" Hannity, but I am going to tune in tomorrow to hear what that clown has to say. His buddy Newt was on This Week With GS and he was saying Obama failed in his first real test...LOL!! Newt how about you go divorce another wife who is on her death bed...

The fact is, Obama was as involved as a President can be, thousands of miles away. He twice approved actions in case the captain's life was at risk. Once the green light is given, the command to shoot is given by someone on site - for efficiency's sake. But to paint Obama out of the picture is as false as it is expected.

See my blog today on the same subject, and this story: http://news.yahoo.com/i/703

"No matter what Democrats do, it's always bad (even when it's good)."

No matter what Republicansdo, it's always bad (even when it's good).

You really don't see it do you?

Wrong, Nancy.  I'll give credit where credit is due.  I just can't remember anything the GOP has done in recent years that is worthy of praise.  Well, except for losing seats in government...

Personally, I have made it a personal quest to seek out times when a Republican or a group of them has done the right thing in my view. I can name quite a few times, but my favorite example was when the G.O.P. won the national debate on welfare and convinced the rest of us that work for money was a good idea. I personally thought putting welfare recipients to work was just mean spiritedness that "pull yourself up by the bootstraps" types inflicted on the unfortunate. I have since learned that there are a lot of people on welfare who have simply given up on finding work - so what's the problem giving them some?

Like I said, there are other examples, but this was a big one for the country.

Only took a week for him to grow a pair. Good for him. Now we will see how he handles the escalation.

Seriously, Obama did the right thing here and I am proud of him. Of course, I'm far more impressed with the military folk involved. And I am saddened by the loss of life. But they made their choice.

The business of saying either party has done nothing good, or that they did all bad is just ridiculous.  Personally I've never said Dems were all bad, or all Dem politicians are all bad.  What I HAVE said is that the people in the Republican party's' views and stances are more closely aligned with mine.

THAT is my opposition to obama and THAT was the reason I voted for McCain.  It wasn't that I thought McCain was the best choice, I thought he was just the better choice of the two running at the time.

It's regrettable that so many people want to make something of all the dissent that it's not.   What it ALL boils down to is a difference of opinion...and then it becomes a war with nothing but insults and name calling.  Politics really have little to do with the war of the words.  It's personalities that cause those.

Sorry, got off topic.  I too was glad when Obama basically told them "do what you need to do if the captains safety is threatened."

Good choice Mr. President and good shooting Navy.  I'm still impressed with that sharpshooting.

so what's the problem giving them some?

I don't have any problem giving (statistically, conservatives give more than the libs - probably based on religious background).  I just don't like giving it to the gov't and having them decide where / who to give to.  Fact of the matter is, I give a lot and volunteer my time quite a bit more.  I give to the organization whom I see fit to receive MY money.  I still say that the gov't don't make any money - they merely redistribute while taking a huge cut.

I'm glad that Obama gave his approval.  I remember on a another post on this site about some of you libs talking 'negotiation' with these crimiinals.  I'm just glad Obama didn't follow this advice.

This just in:  Obama violates basic law of physics with stimulus bill:

"This government effort is coming in ahead of schedule and under budget. "  --Barack Obama,

Next up:  Eight billion for high-speed rail.  No, none of it is going to link Las Vegas and Disneyland.

Yet.

I'm glad he *DID* follow that advice and didn't just order 'em to charge in guns-blazing.   Negotiating never costs you anything but a little time, and it opens up your options.  That Obama guy is a smart feller.
