I haven't been keeping tick marks on a list but I do believe Brighthouse gets more complaints than any other cable service. The service with the highest regard among bloggers is Dish Network, along with Direct TV.

Certainly has made an impression with me. I subscribed to the Dish and been happy with it ever since. (Knock on wood; I hope I haven't just jinxed myself.)

catpaw - Do they have versus HD? If so, maybe I need to switch.

I'll be watching something and the picture will freeze, switch channels and switch back and it is on, but rewind is lost....anyone else?

JOE: have you had brighthouse come out and check the connections? My daughter had that problem and there was a bad hook-up connection. The put in a new one and all is well.

Also, sometimes when BH is working on the lines in your area it will cause a disturbance with your TV.

Joe switch to DirectTV.   I've been watching Deadliest Catch HD all day and it's just great.  The only complaint I have with DirectTV HD is the DVR they sent me is incredibly slow and has a lag time like you wouldn't believe.  I got my uncle to change though and he got a newer DVR which doesn't have this issue.  I may send mine back in since I have that $6/month insurance but I'm too lazy to unhook everything.

I did a comparison for a relative between BrightHouse and DirectTV and this is what I found:

DirectTV has all of the same channels, AND MORE.  They have RFDTV (Imus), which Brighthouse currently does not have.  The only thing DirectTV does not have are the LA stations (KTLA 5, KCAL 9), but you can always get the $12/month basic basic cable from Brighthouse to get that.  They also do not have those "on demand" shows like Brighthouse - UNLESS you have the DirectTV HD DVR and have it connected to the internet, then you have video on demand (VOD) shows - too many of them in fact.

You get the same music channels, more HD channels, different sports packages (etc.).  Shows that are time delayed on Brighthouse come on earlier on DirectTV AND, to top it all off, it's about $10-$15/month cheaper depending on how many receivers you have.  I've also never had my DirectTV go out on me, unlike cable which would go down for a day at a time.  Installation is free - you can have it next week and not pay for it til next month - no set up costs, installation fees, etc.  It's great!

I have digital cable and QUITE often the channels get pixely, turn black or just don't come in. ugh. its annoying. especially when it stars happening in the middle of a show >:o

Give them a call.. they'll send a technician out for ANY issue you have at no charge.

I have no problems with them.

Like FSG, I've had no problems. But I also had my drop from the curb to the neighborhood box and all my splitters replaced when I moved in, so I've got pretty new wiring compared to what others have. I've had more issues with the Internet service, but that's RoadRunner's fault for the most part. They really should fire whomever couldn't keep the DNS servers running last December. That was quite sad.
