As with many other Bakersfield neighborhoods there are too many folks who drive through this neighborhood in excess of the speed limit. It is one of my pet peeves. What makes these inconsiderate drivers even more of a nuisance is the fact that there are no sidewalks on some streets in the Alta Vista and Upper La Cresta Neighborhoods. Families out for a walk are always at risk from cars moving too fast around our many gently curving streets . The area has an abundance of large trees which provide welcome shade in the summer and perfect nesting opportunities for many kinds of birds. These birds provide background noise for anyone who takes the time to listen. The Panorama Park is close by as is Bakersfield College. BC includes the Levan Institute of Lifelong Learning. There is still time to enroll in some of their fall classes. Some of the choices are Italian, Ballroom Dancing, Silversmithing, Wood working, Yoga, Healthy Cooking, etc. Further information can be found here. http://www.bakersfieldcolle...
