So not a place for ads.  But hey, if you post to a blog, you get a blog.

Macy's is a nice place.  I thought they did a good job with their Gay Pride Exhibit in Boston.  Too bad they caved to pressure and brought the piece down.  They also apparently are having a good time trying to walk the tightrope with their teen AIDS prevention series, where they talk with teens about sex.  So, lemme ask, is the company for gay people and teen sex ed or against them?

Hi Tom,

This is not an ad, that is a sale I ran across.........we came up with this B.com blog for the people that want to share sales with fellow shoppers.

Thanks!

Sorry about that.  I saw the date this profile was created and the content.  Assumed it was another ad.

My bad.  There should be some sort of avatar that distinguishes b.com writers.  Not trying to deflect blame, just saying.

I saw this on "new posts".  They explained what they were doing but I agree you guys need to ID yourselves.  Of course we are invited to share sales too so I reckon it's a blow out blog.

Besides, we need something light and fun.  The rest of the blog is so political right now that it feels like tons of serious gloom falling on our heads.  I'm tired of having my head bashed with war and Bush and Cheney, and..and...and...

Gadzooks!!!  Bring on the sales.  I must admit that 10%-15% off at Macys isn't much of a deal.   We need REAL bargains.

One more week, Nancy.  After that, it'll calm down for a while.

I agree on the sale though.  15% off isn't exactly a blowout.

15% off a Kitchenaid mixer at Macy's probably still makes it higher than Tar-jay.

You and your fancy French stores.  :)  Let's see if you're right.

Macy's is 299.99 on sale: http://www1.macys.com/catal...
Tar-jay regular price 299.99: http://www.target.com/gp/de...
So at 25% off, the prices get even.

HA !!...but at the 10%-15% off I would have been right !!!

I'm totally anal about bargains.  It once took me about 3 months to buy a VCR.  I compared prices, features, brands, you name it and got a good deal.  I probably saved all of 20 bucks over all and 3 months of digging.

I have this mental picture of a pile of merchandise, a pile of women, and one triumphant lady emerging from the middle waving her prize.    I don't go quite that far as I won't fight crowds.

My girlfriend is the same way.  She'll chase something for months.  I've now started offering her a 30-day price difference guarantee.  The "you realize that you're going to spend 40 hours to save 10 bucks" argument didn't go over well.  The "how about I pay you .25 cents an hour to do my half of the housework so you have the extra Hamilton to blow on something nice" argument is not recommended.  Ever.

You have to be careful about those Kitchenaid mixers.  They're not one size fits all.  Make sure its apples to apples.  Last Christmas Linens-n-Things had what looked like a killer deal on Kitchenaid Mixers, but they were the smaller powered models.  You could get the bigger model with all the bells & whistles at Costco for the same price.

Yeah, I had a friend who had the small one.  You really couldn't do much with it.  It's not so hard to mix a small bowl that you need a big ole mixer on the counter.

There is a neat interior design shop on F Street, Unique Designs, they're having a sale right now on wall art, 35% off...I went by there. The wall art was very large and very nice. I bought one piece for my dining room, looks great! Oh, the shop is next to John's Burgers.
