Help find cheap gas
Yikes! Gas prices have soared to an all-time high, with a nationwide average of nearly $3.23 a gallon. How much more can we take? There was a day in the not-too-distant past when a $20 bill filled up my much-loved Saturn. Now? Last week, driving back to Bakersfield from Los Angeles, I needed $37. So let's at least do what we can to help each other out. Where's the cheapest gas in Bakersfield? And other places in Kern, too? You can check out this map too. — Christine Peterson

Love the dancing cat, RoyTullis. That's better than telling us where to find cheap gas. — Christine Peterson posted by

I use ARCO all the time but only with cash. If you use a credit card there's a surcharge. They usually have the best prices but keep an eye out on Fastrips..sometimes they are in line with ARCO. posted by

I use "Gas Buddy". They list the prices on most places in the U.S. Diesel at one station in my neighborhood is $4.19. I've been using my little electric car more than ever. posted by

Cheap gas is an oxymoran. I think the taxes on gas should be reassessed. posted by

Chico- You are in the minority who actually uses their truck as a truck. I don't think most who complain about the huge vehicles, including me, have a problem with people who use these vehicles for their jobs or business. What I have a major problem with is seeing a suv made for 7 being driven around by some soccer mom or dad by themselves. It is way to often that these behemoths have only 1 passenger while being driven and that 1 person is the driver. The reason I have heard the most for driving these huge vehicles is that they feel safer. When hearing this the only thing I can think of is it is the weight of the car that kills in an accident. Our roads would be a much safer place to drive if most vehicles were smaller.
