This is a 5th grade math problem. . This is not a trick question. This is a real math problem so don't say that a bus has no legs. There are 7 girls in a bus Each girl has 7 backpacks In each backpack, there are 7 big cats For every big cat there are 7 little cats Question: How many legs are there in the bus? 9 comments from 6 users

Girls: 7 x 2 = 14 Big cats: 7 x 7 x 4 = 196 Little cats: 7 x 7 x 7 x 4 = 1372 14 + 196 + 1372 = 1568 posted by

It depends on how hungry the big cats are. LOL 14 legs - girls 1372 legs - big cats 9604 legs - little cats 10990 total legs 10992 if the bus doesn't have automatic pilot

Robb -- you got all the right numbers, but you need to re-add -- the total's 1582. OldBlue -- it asks how many legs are IN the bus, not on it -- good try at confusing us!

I hate math, I hate math word problems, I hate tricky math word problems, I hate word math problems that you have to pay attention to. And I REALLY hate it when people can figure them out and I can't. Bawwwwwwww humbug! Grandson is a math teacher and he's always saying you have to know how to read to do math. Anti -- You're right -- I goofed and only figured the number of big and little cats for one girl's 7 backpacks. With all those cats in the bus, I hope they had multiple litter boxes!!
