We are commanded to love.
Matthew 7:1 says "Judge not, that ye be judged." Matthew also says: 7:12 Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.
Luke 7:44Then he turned toward the woman and said to Simon, "Do you see this woman? I came into your house. You did not give me any water for my feet, but she wet my feet with her tears and wiped them with her hair. 45You did not give me a kiss, but this woman, from the time I entered, has not stopped kissing my feet. 46You did not put oil on my head, but she has poured perfume on my feet. 47Therefore, I tell you, her many sins have been forgiven—for she loved much. But he who has been forgiven little loves little." I believe it is not our duty to act like God with judgement about a neighbor. This is the word of the Lord. I would want to know why christians on this site belittle a mother and neighbor of ours who is speaking of science with love in her heart? I have seen the couple of atheists who are rude but PM is not one of them neither is WoofWoof. Why can Ron and Maggie and some other folk be so awful to them? I know PM from real life neighborhood meeting, she has never been rude to my beliefs. 13 comments from 6 users

Are you sure that you are not another name for Possum; like Mr Sucks uses Hot Topic, and Random uses Rosemarysabotionist? I am as sure as I am about God that I am not Possum Momma. I didn't know you could have more than one identity. I have met Possum Momma like some here. And why I agree with the thought why are Christians the only ones who expected to uphold it? We are not the only ones who should uphold love. I only posted to this community because I noticed the most outspoke theists appeared hateful. I am imperfect in God's eyes. I think he will judge us by how well we kept his commands top of all the Golden Rule. As a follower of Christ I agreed to be an example for Him. It seems that Christians face a double standered: we are attacked because we are Christian and we are attacked because we are not Christian enough for our attackers. At any rate we Christians are not going anywhere. I'm sorry I don't see any attacking. The comments I have seen about you ask why you claim to love Christ and serve Him but don't keep his commandment about loving your neighbor. You are also abrasive. How can we serve God by leading hearts to Him if we have alienated people with hypocrisy of heart?

Hot Topic? They sell sinful rock-n-roll music and clothing. Been peeking into that dark and evil secular side, Buffoo? http://www.hottopic.com/hot... Of course, T-Shirt Hell is one of my favorites. I have one of their banner ads on my Shafter page.

Buffoo, I do have another identity on this blog but it ain't Rosemary'sabortionist. It's Sojourner7. . You are primarily attacked because you don' t live up to your Christian professions. And you delete us when we point that out. . And we ain't going anywhere either.

I am sure Chrissyl. Are you sure that you are not another name for Possum; Projecting much, Wayfarer? Not everyone has the time or the desire (as you seem to have) to sock puppet the Californian. Seeing as ChrissyL is an African-American Christian and I'm a caucasian atheist, I would say your suggestion is not likely. Then again, you're the same person who claimed I must be Woof Woof. *rolls eyes*

Wayfarer with as many comments as you delete are you sure you're not the one who is confused? I remember seeing her comment. I clicked on the link to Amazon. As for coffee (well...in my case, tea)...let me see how tomorrow shakes out. I'll stick my head over the fence in the morning to see what's going on. Thanks! It didn't work out. We had to go to Fresno. Its important we are patient and tolerant with one another. Christians and non-Chrisitans, we all deserve it. Amen! posted by

At any rate I only delete comments from haters who are being disrespectful of other people and their beliefs. A fundamentalist Christian is filled with more hate than any ten conscious individuals. Therefore, you should be deleting everything that you write. Hey, delete yourself while you're at it. I promise to send you those flowers that you so desperately covet...

I guess we'll have to wait and see what Jason says Wayfarer. I suspect that there's some method he can employ to see what comments were there. Also...if you'd never seen the comment about a coffee table book, then how would you have known I was referring to you? posted by

I couldn't agree more Chrissy. God is love. He shows us love by allowing us to feel and think WHATEVER WE NEED to while we find our own way. Before I became a Christian i studied Buddhism, but it didn't answer my heart. We all have different beliefs, and it's not a priority in this life we agree. Its important we are patient and tolerant with one another. Christians and non-Chrisitans, we all deserve it. posted by

Oh yes. There was Wayfarer. Just last week. I told you that I had thought of you because I'd bought a book about Orthodox art. I even provided a link to it on amazon. You deleted it. And, if we need to, we can have Jason or someone go back and check the log. posted by

You are telling tales again Possum. Their never was a comment about a coffee table book in the first place on any of my post. At any rate I only delete comments from haters who are being disrespectful of other people and their beliefs. posted by

Hi Chrissy, You didn't have to do this. I appreciate the support, but, honestly, there have likely been times (in the past) when I've not been so charitable to Allred. Maggie, however, is a mystery. I've always attempted to conduct myself with dignity, but I would lying if I said I never took a shot at some of the more fervant believers on the site. In January, like I was telling you outside the other day, I decided that wasn't the person I wanted to be. So, what you've seen is the pmomma who is trying to be more considerate and conscious of wording. There are some people I passionately disagree with on the Bakersfield blogs. However, I've decided that I can't, nor do I wish to, change their passionately held positions. I can only give what I knowledge I have to give and then practice some tongue biting and patience. I'd also be lying if I said that I wasn't frustrated and saddened by some of the comments on the last two blog posts I've made. While writing them, I made every attempt to NOT speak about a person's faith. I've only addressed some of the scientific principles behind, what I saw as, inaccurate statements made by others. Thank you for noticing that. Unfortunately, there's been a long history of snarking between atheists and theists on this blog. I've even, recently, had a die-hard, Christian poster delete a perfectly polite comment about a coffee table book (of all things) that had pictures of orthodox churches. I was, actually, complimenting the art in his religion. The conclusion I drew from that was that the poster is so invested in the idea of being persecuted that he can't tolerate someone being nice or building a bridge. If I, as an atheist, am nice to him, then he's likely to be conflicted between what he wants to believe about atheists and what he's seeing. There are atheists here who take no prisoners and, based on what I've seen, it's become a viscious circle with each side pointing to the other. I'm sure there are justifications for this behavior on both ends of the spectrum. All I know is that I can only control my behavior. The quotes that were left in my blog don't offend me. I'm just disappointed that, rather than DISCUSS, these particular posters are engaging in the very same behaviors that they claim to hate. If I went to their blog and posted some of the more pointed quotes by atheists in regards to religion, then you can be sure they'd insist that doing such a thing is dismissive and "attacking" them. Yet... as we see, they've no hesitation about doing the same thing in my blog. *shrugs* As for coffee (well...in my case, tea)...let me see how tomorrow shakes out. I'll stick my head over the fence in the morning to see what's going on. Thanks!
