Year of the Rat
In honor of the start of the Year of the Rat on the lunar calendar we are posting a couple tasty rat recipes along with some fun facts.... According to Chinese legend, all of the animals were racing to the heavens for the Emperor's birthday party. The first twelve to arrive would each have a year named for them, with the winner receiving the first year. It was a very tough race through the rough waters. The rat rode on the water buffalo, the strongest swimmer, jumping off to finish first. So the rat is the first of the twelve signs in the Chinese zodiac. The Year of the Rat signals change and new beginnings. Rats are know to be ambitious, crafty and love to collect things. They are quick-witted and love to take risks. They are also perfectionists. They do well financially and make good business leaders and politicians. A few famous Rats: Eminem, Ben Aflek, Richard Nixon, Cameron Diaz, Al Gore,Stevie Nicks, Ashlee Simpson, Jimmy Carter and Jenny Garth. Cheers to all you Rats!!! The Sewer Rat

2 parts Kahlua
5 parts Orange Juice
The Ratfink
1 1/2 oz Dark Jamaican Rum
1 tsp Triple Sec
1 tsp Maraschino Liqueur
1 tsp Grenadine Syrup
