THANK YOU to everyone who attended Saturday's big event!  The day was filled with friends, neighbors, their families and, of course, a couple more good deeds.

There was free food, live music from KUZZ, free raffles & prizes, and $1,000 presentations to both The Bakersfield Rescue Mission and Hoffmann Hospice, all provided by AltaOne Federal Credit Union.  Those who attended even got to talk to the Bakersfield Fire Department and check out Station 15's fire truck!

Even the weather cooperated, as the sun decided to come out for the event!  Again, thanks to all who attended - and be sure to check out the pictures!

AltaOne's new branch is located at 11211 River Run Blvd., just off the corner of Buena Vista Road & Stockdale Highway.

By now, if you have been checking out our web site (GoodDeedsDoneDaily.com), you'll know that AltaOne Federal Credit Union is the not-for-profit organization behind all the good deeds we've been doing around Bakersfield.  If not, now you know!  :o)

They let us put their "marketing dollars" back into the Bakersfield community, instead of using the money for typical advertising - which I think is pretty cool.  We really got to know the community, many of its small businesses, charities and non-profits.  The best part of it was the "pay it forward" notion that caught on with everyone we met!  And thanks for all the emails...we were glad to do it and it was a pleasure meeting you as well!

But the good deeds aren't done yet.  Come by the big reveal event this Saturday (2/7), at AltaOne's new branch - 11211 River Run Blvd. - and watch more good things happen.  The Bakersfield Rescue Mission, Hoffmann Hospice, and the Bakersfield Fire Department will all be in attendance - all do-gooders themselves!  The event is from 11AM - 2PM...hope to see you there!

As we were out and about, we made some new friends.  Bakersfield is filled with such friendly people!  We were also able to hitch a ride on a huge tractor!  Check out the pictures...

We were driving around and stopped to pick up supplies...and a couple asked if we were part of a TV Show!   Funny - must be the shirts!

Anyway, the manager proceeded to tell us that just minutes before we walked in the day before (he recognized us), he did a good deed by giving someone CPR and saving their lives!  We applauded him and he thanked us for reminding him to always do good deeds!  :)

The Good Deeds Done Daily crew enjoyed dinner at Que Pasa.  Our good deeds for the day weren't done.

"We will be taking care of the family's bill, and the couple next to us". Even the waiter was dumbfounded. "Are you serious? Wow." As we left que pasa we stopped by each table letting the diners know that dinner was on the us tonight. One table responded, "Thank you. We will pay it forward too!"

Plus, our waiter was right: Hands down best grilled chicken burrito.
