Bill Clinton's DNC Speech
Unfortunately, I caught only the last few minutes of the speech, but thanks to the modern technology of the internet, I was able to see a number of video clips, giving me a better indication of the overall points he made.
So, what say you? Who saw the speech, and what did you think? 34 comments from 17 users

Let me just say, I have never in my adult life been so proud of the Democratic party. From that team that never missed an opportunity to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory, to this, amaZing!! posted by

Bill Clinton's speech was exceptional. His finest moment came when he very poignantly expressed that America is always best when it leads by the power of example rather than by the example of power. John Kerry's speech was terrific with humor and fire. Joe Biden's speech was great, with a brilliant introduction by his son telling the family history. I thought Joe Biden really brought home the common man stories that reflected the anguish tempered with resolve by working people, and forcefully rebuked John McCain's positions without rebuking the man. It was another stellar night for Democrats heading into the final election drive. posted by

I didn't watch it. All I can think about when I see this man is what a creep he is. Back when Catie Couric interviewed Hillary and she insisted SHE WOULD BE OUR NEXT PRESIDENT, I though well if that happens, I can send him a cigar that says FIRST DOG , oop's I meant FIRST MAN! posted by

Clinton's speech was like witnessing a pitcher throw a nine-inning perfect game in which every batter struck out on three pitches. Overwhelming. This from Clinton: "People around the world have always been more impressed by the power of our example than by the example of our power." He nailed it! Joe Biden's son was out-of-this-world amazing! His speech/intro of his dad waylaid me! John Kerry took it Down-Town. He was beyond belief!!!!! Joe Biden hit about a dozen grand-slams back-to back. I'm so very glad to get to know this guy. He is just amazing. A special, terrific human being. It was the Dream Team. It was a SPECTACULAR performance!!! I've been wiping away the tears for two hours! posted by

I never hate talent such as he has. It is a spectacular gift he has worked hard to hone into a fine art. He has no peer when it comes to making speeches. On the other hand, I do not use Bill Clinton as a model for my international students to emulate when studying style and method of delivery. Instead, I have them study Barack Obama's speeches for that purpose. He uses strategic pauses as brilliantly as any in the Western media school of speech. Obama is an exquisite model for those learning to communicate measured and timed English effects for both academic and professional settings. What I find remarkable, is that anyone would "hate to admit" that great talent is great talent. I relish brilliance since it is hard earned. posted by

I was very impressed with all the speeches. I was a little worried about what Bill would say but as usual he pulled off a great speech that I believe will help mend fences between the Hillary and Barack camps. I thought he did a great job stressing that he supports Obama while disappointed his candidate did not win. posted by

Wow.....all of you are extremely misled. Damn..... The Clinton's & Bushes vacation together. Clinton agreed with Daddy Bush's New World Order Speech.(One Of Many) When are you guys going to wake up to the false left-right paradigm? Keep believing the lies. The Democrats are not going to do anything to save this Country. After reading the comments in this post, I am ready to vomit my breakfast. The sheeple are easily pacified by the powers that be.....to bad because some of you are very smart. Oh well..... The Washington Times revealed that President Bush even takes foreign policy advice from Clinton, along with his father, and lets them sit in on CIA briefings.
George W invited both Clintons as guests of honor and praised them to the hilt as he unveiled portraits of the two to be hung in the White House. Bush described him as having "...a great compassion for people in need... a man of enthusiasm and warmth". This after Bush's 2000 campaign was built around Clinton having no honor or dignity whilst in the White House.
