Guess you don't count the Californian as a "legitimate site."   The right-wing does it here all the time, only with Obama as a target.

Hey Random, here's a little newsflash for you: Obama is the POTUS and will obviously be a target of his opponents, just as GBII was, and still is. And always will be. I can acknowledge that, can't you? After all, you're the one who constantly calls for trials and hangings.

This outrageous "comedy" piece was over the top, beyond any boundary of decency. It was an attack on a child, and a family who surely will struggle to meet his needs. The only obscene blast on Obama on these blogs that even comes close was from a now suspended user (Katatak) who suggested that Obama molested his daughters.

HuffPo is full of biased crap.

"See, YOU said she wanted to be president and that's your opinion ... "

Well,

She wanted to be a heartbeat away ...

But  we all know there's no possibility of that now ( i bet somebody talked about the cash-cow thing ).

virgil, where did she say she wanted to be president?  Got a link?  Or a quote with a source?

See, YOU said she wanted to be president and that's your opinion..no link needed.  But then you said she said...now you need a link.

She threatens everything but that.

And as a former member of the Alaska Independence Party, she threatens the Constitution.

Ho Hum, more of the same rhetoric.  It's...all...speculation..at...this...point.  ; But rave on RF, TSM, virgil.  It gives you something to do to satisfy you blood lust for Palin.  The one you can't forgive for stepping outside the "politics as usual" box.  The one you've ragged on since November even though she was running for NOTHING.

Tell me, how many of the candidates for VP who've lost do you still go on and on about?  Until this latest development she was very low key and yet you guys just couldn't let her go.  I really have to wonder why.  (not really, it's painfully obvious to everyone except yourselves.)

Another thing that just occurred to me.  Of all the people trashing Palin on THIS blog, almost all of them are men.  Does she threaten your masculinity?

TalkingPointsMemo got a major journalism award recently for its reporting on the US Attorney scandal.

Any investigation of Palin, after the Shrub Justice Department fiasco on Ted Stevens, will be played very close to the vest.

I  never ceased to be amazed at how willing people are to take the word of a blogger as fact.

It was a blogger who broke the story on Monica Lewinski.

It was a blogger who broke the story on Bristol Palin's pregnancy.

It was a blogger who broke the Abu Ghraib scandal.

It was bloggers who broke many of the big stories in the last few years.

It would be folly to ignore bloggers. They have sources the MSM doesn't have and people are more willing to talk to them.

Me thinks the left doth protest too much

I for one am sad to see her go.

She was a staple for late night comedy and she would have ensured an Obama re-election if she became the GOP nominee.

And if you followed Alaska blogs on both the right and left, you would know there was a lot more to Palin's drama than what you think you know.

Like how Palin is taking credit for Exxon coming into the gas pipeline negotiations when she had absolutely nothing to do with it.

Or like how Palin is lying about the villages along the lower Yukon getting enough salmon to make it through the winter.

Nancy,

You guys are salivating like a bunch of jackels.   Do you have ANY idea how blood thirsty and silly you sound? The FBI has already SAID it's not investigating her.  But then, I suppose bloggers know better.

But but....there has to be something going on!  I mean, someone has to be investigating her because politically biased/motivated bloggers say so! I  never ceased to be amazed at how willing people are to take the word of a blogger as fact.

I admire everything you've said on this board today.  What gets me is, if liberals hate Palin so much, and they think she is such a mistake, shouldn't they want her to run so she can "destroy" the party?  I mean, if she's such an idiot and so inept, what are they worried about? I mean, if they think Republicans are digging their own hole with Palin, shouldn't they get out of the way and let them?  If she isn't a valid threat, who cares?  Me thinks the left doth protest too much...

The truth is, Sarah Palin's decision to leave office before her term is up may hurt her chances in a presidential bid.  There's NO reason not to finish something you signed up for.  It makes her appear flaky, presumptive and overly ambitious.

From the conservative Alaska Standard:

Palin must have convinced herself early on the way to be a successful governor is to please all the people all the time. Or maybe she thought she could fool all the people all the time. She certainly showed a propensity to pull one over on you. Some of the bull she tried selling was so ridiculous it made you think she was either a sociopathic liar or a delusion nut job able to convince herself what was not true was. The more controversy she found herself in, the more critics attacked her, the more deceptive she became. The more delusional she appeared.

Long time Republican strategist Ed Rollins:

Palin effectively dissed nine sitting Republican Governors who because of term limits could not run again and who were midway through their last terms. He said that in her rambling discourse she was implying that anyone not running for re-election was an ineffectual lame duck who took junkets and wasted the people's money.

Most Republican strategists who the GOP rely on are all writing Palin's political epithat.

Nothing like the tea baggers and the venom they spout about Obama, that's for sure.

And once again, since you just don't seem to get it Nancy, it's the hypocrisy.

Palin came to office promising an open administration and has been nothing of the sort. Even Alaska Republicans have complained about it.

She promised to be truthful, and even the McCain people saw through her lies. How she lied about her husband's membership in a secessionist party is one recent example revealed from emails between her and McCain's campaign manager.

Has Rush Limbaugh ever apologized for any of his ugly remarks?  I don't remember it, if he has.    As I said before, some of you seem to think that all liberals think alike.  We don't so why paint all of us with the same brush when ONE LIBERAL makes a stupid, cruel statement.  This kind of misunderstanding is exactly why I posted my blog about Ann Coulter.  I really wanted to know her opinions were shared by the majority of  conservatives who post here.  As it turns out it isn't,  which is what I thought and hoped is true. I wish the conservatives on this website would give us (liberals) the same benefit of a doubt that we give you.

A Post Apology

I  wrote a piece making fun of the fact that a Trig Palin joke was given as the reason that Sarah Palin left office. I wrote jokes that were offensive but my intent was for them to be ironic and therefore not offensive. I was wrong. Within ten minutes of my post I received some emails from the loved ones of the retarded and I saw that my piece was hurtful. Therefore, I removed the post right after receiving the first 2 emails.

I removed it immediately because I saw that it did not come across as I intended. I apologize to all of those who were offended.

and she wanted to be president ... she shoulda said no!

As a couple of Alaska bloggers pointed out, she likes running for office but doesn't want the job.

She quit while on the Wasilla city council, she quit as Wasilla mayor, she quit a state commission and now she's quit the governorship.

Conservatives sure know how to pick 'em, don't they?

Even Republicans in the Alaska legislature complained how she was persona non gratis during the last session and they were unable to pass any meaningful legislation because Palin waited until the last minute before presenting any direction for them.

How much more delicious if Palin quit just on the *RUMORS* that she's being investigated

The rumor in Alaska about Bristol being pregnant were true. The rumor was going around for several months before Palin went public with it.

Alaska bloggers, on both sides, have been front and center in following up on the different rumors about Palin and most have panned out.

Even the conservative Alaska Standard believes there's something behind the rumors of an investigation.

I wonder if they're gonna make her sell  the house her spouse said he built?

Have you seen the house? It's 9,000 square feet. It has a float plane parked in the driveway that looks like a kid's model airplane the house is so big.

There's no way in hell Todd and a "few of my buddies" built that thing.

I hope they kept all their receipts, otherwise things are going to get ugly for the Palins.

"There is absolutely no truth to those rumors that we're investigating her or getting ready to indict her,"

No one said the FBI was involved.

In fact, the rumor going around in Alaska is that the IRS is investigating her, not the FBI. That's always been the rumor.

And how odd is it to get a statement from a government agency on a holiday weekend?

"To the extent several websites, most notably liberal Alaska blogger Shannyn Moore, are now claiming as 'fact' that Governor Palin resigned because she is 'under federal investigation' for embezzlement or other criminal wrongdoing, we will be exploring legal options this week to address such defamation," Van Flein said in a statement

As Moore said, bring it on. She has a long list of lawyers willing to work pro bono to be the one to depose Palin.

Palin's lawyer is an idiot. Moore stated very clearly, and twice, that it was a rumor.

It takes a whole lot of discipline for me, right now, to not completely lose it and go off on those who religiously follow all those brainwashing, full of crap websites. I'm so pissed off at this "comedy" and "humor". Hahahahaha. Isn't it funny? Not.

I'm not defending it.  Like I said, I think it's sick.  I'm just saying it's not a real editorial.  It's supposed to be more like The Onion, although I am sure The Onion would have better taste this.

Oh, and this in the LA Times:

Despite rumors of a looming controversy after the Republican governor's surprise announcement Friday that she would leave office this month, some of them published in the blogosphere, the FBI's Alaska spokesman said the bureau had no investigation into Palin for her activities as governor, as mayor or in any other capacity.

"There is absolutely no truth to those rumors that we're investigating her or getting ready to indict her," Special Agent Eric Gonzalez said in a phone interview Saturday. "It's just not true." He added that there was "no wiggle room" in his comments for any kind of inquiry.

Time for some Puff Ho bloggers to start spending all their time and money defending some lawsuits now.

So what are they saying over at that icon of liberal news, the Huffington Post?

posted by NancyII on Jul 5, 2009 at 08:40 AM

Speculation boys, speculation.  The emphasis was because she is singled out for everything she does and when she fights back in the way that makes sense to her, she still gets attacked.  No one wondered why others who left their position to run for another office or to campaign wasn't criticized?  But she is?

No one sees that when obama dropped out of sight in his senate seat to campaign no one cared?  But when she did it she was maligned.  Now that she's made it pretty clear that she intends to work for the party without the world being able to hold her state hostage with allegations they can't prove, ANOTHER allegation of embezzlement rears it's ugly head.

And you guys can't see any of that?  As a presidential candidate I'm not even sure I'd support her,  but you'd have to be blind as a bat not to see that she has been marked by the Democrats and their party to destroy.  No one works that hard to destroy someone unless they have reason to fear them.  If she's sooo bad, and such an idiot, and such a drag on politics why do you really give a hoot what she does?  AND, up til she resigned, the Dems and Libs were the only ones bringing her name up incessantly here on this blog.  Why is that?

I understand Lings question but Jf...what does 'No thanks" in regard to?
