Bravo Bakersfield Symphony Orchestra

The husband and I thoroughly enjoyed the concert on February 2nd.  I've been a fan of Wagner since middle school and the concert offered a nice range of selections from the composer's repetoire.

We look forward to more concerts and thank you for providing the gift of fine classical music to the community.

For folks interested, the Symphony's schedule and information can be found at: http://www.bakersfieldsymph...

A couple months ago, I traveled to Chicago to catch Andrew Lloyd Weber's "Phantom of the Opera." I enjoyed the music and the acting though the tempo slowed somewhat in the 2nd and 3rd acts. But it came together in the 4th act and that roused all of us in the theatre to the raptures of applause.

My only complaint? my legs were a bit long for the seat back in front of me but my complimentary tickets more than made up for that.

Thanks for sharing your visit to the local symphony orchestra.

I saw Wicked in Chicago at the Oriental Theatre downtown about a year ago.  I haven't seen Phantom of the Opera since high school.  Nice to hear that the tour is back in Chicago.

FreeCognate, that sounds like it was a great time for you. If you get a chance get to Weber's Phantom, it is worth it. I watched the movie musical about 4 times, and when I do things like that it is usually because I am home alone and then I get all teary eyed.

I went to symphony oncet

With all those fiddles I figgered I was in fer a real treat!

They even had some with a  "gland"  corndition! Real big they wuz! They held 'em funny too.........

I couldn't figger out what Robert Wagner (From Austin Powers of late) had to do with it though

Thought it mighta been Billy Bob (Wagner) from Overland Sale Yard.

Didn't recognize much of the  "music". Thought I wuz on an elevator or somethin'

Except the one from way back in ....... oh.....bout 1812 or so

Like the Souza Marches too................
