I'm still curious if anyone knows the name of the restaurant that was in an actual train? It was located on the nw corner of california and oak street. Thanks Gene6716
who remembers Maison Jausaud's restaurant on union ave? What wonderful food and the owners Martin and Baby were great people. I don't live in Bakersfield any longer but I sure do miss it and miss these folks. And I wonder if Sam's Pizza Boat is still around? The Casa Royale used to be a great place for food. Who remembers the Stockdale Inn on Stockdale Hiway. I think at the time they served the same food and it was designed just like the Tam o Shanter. I first arrived in Bakersfield In the late 60's and immediately found Bill Lees. I can say that I go to Bakersfield twice a year and always go to Bill Lees. I am happy to say that the food has not changed. My favorite dishes are Chicken Chow mein and Pineapple Chicken Sticks My name is Gene Denari. I was the General Manager of KBAK-TV from 1969 to 1980. I had a program on the station called " Let me talk to the Manager". Some time in the 70's the Bakersfield Californian wrote an article about me and this show. Does anyone know how I can get a copy of this article? Thanks,
Gene Denari
