Sara Lee and Bob Go Camping
Last week I was lucky enough to adopt a shelter dog from the great volunteers from Wasco. "Bob" is the newest addition to the family. He now has a sister, Sara Lee, a Border Collie who was also rescued. Bob is still adjusting but seems like he is going to enjoy his new home. We decided to take the "kids" camping this weekend. I have been converting a bus to a motor home for the last 3 years, so its not really roughing it...Bob and Sara Lee have all the comforts of home. Hope there are many more camping trips to come. Here are a few pics of the kids and the bus and I hope life treats all of you good during the holidays.

AAAWWWW too cute!! I'm so glad you got shelter puppies :-) All three of ours are rescues. NICE BUS/RV!! I showed the pics to my hubby and he loved your work. In Feb we traded our 1997 RV for a 2002 w/a slide out and hubby has already made major changes! You guys always seem to need to tinker!! Works for me!! Hubby's tinkering got me a new kitchen and 2 new bathrooms and a craft room!!!! posted by

Wow Goofy--did you do that conversion yourself? It looks awesome! I showed my husband also, and he agreed it looks great. That looks like real tile in the kitchen. And what sweet doggies--I have a special affection for fluffy little ones. My husband keeps saying he doesn't want a little dog, but one day...one day.... ; ) posted by

Thanks for the nice comments on the bus. It has been a lot of fun working on it over the past few years. I have done all the work and learned alot, especially about electrical, to boot. It gets a lot of stares going down the road...I'm not sure if that is good or bad...lol posted by

Witters... Fully understand about the tinkering...I'm never quite satisfied with my work and keep trying something new each time...but it sure is nice at the end of the day to just sit back, relax with a beer and admire the work...for better or worse. Half the fun is is making something new! posted by

Bob is adorable!! I can see why you wanted to go back for him. And Sara looks like a complete sweetie...not to mention that her teeth are gorgeous. Congratulations on the newest addition. Looks like he found the couch pretty quickly :o) The motor home looks wonderful as well. I have fantasies about taking a year-long trip around the country in a motor home one day. Until then, I just get to motor to work. Thanks for the pics.

Goofy 1, Love the bus and your new family members. Back in 1989 when I first started driving for BCSD I had the privledge of driving an old crown. It was a 1955 Crown. Same year I was born. Most of the drivers prefered the new Blue Birds. I appreciated that the old bus was in such great condition. Even the old clock on the dash kept perfect time. You've got a gem. You hear those commercials about things being priceless. Your bus I'd imagine fits in that catogory to you. You done an excellent job Goofy. Those looks you get mean others admire what you've done. I'd be proud to be driving it! posted by

This one is a 1976 Crown, formerly with the Kern High School District. I drove it as a school bus for many years, so I know it was well taken care of. Thanks for the comments on it...it's still a work in progress but almost complete.
