Got a bike?  Fan of lights?

Bike Bakersfield is hosting a Haggin Oaks cycling tour on the 21st at the Kaiser Permenente parking lot on Ming Ave. at 7 p.m.

Riders are encouraged to dress up their bikes and themselves for the event.  Pedal-powered lights, anyone?

If you haven't checked it out yet, our Holiday Lights map features photos from some of the most brightly lit homes around town.  Take a peek and let us know where else you've seen great lights:

Check out this rocking lights video.  Now that takes some planning!

What's your take on flickering lights?  Most light sets I've seen come with a bulb that makes the entire string flash in sync when plugged in. Most Bako homes I've seen seem to be pretty decided about their lights - they're either on or off.  Do you have an aesthetic preference towards lights that flash or lights that stay solidly on?

If you are a fan of the flicker, what's your trick for keeping multiple strings of lights flashing in sync with each other?  And how do you program a house to rock to music like this one?  So cool.

Check out our Holiday Lights map:

Know of a good one to add?  E-mail photos and addresses to mczarnecka@bakersfield.com or post them in the comments below.

What's your strategy for outdoor holiday decorating?  Do you start by outlining your house with lights, or do you tackle the bushes first?  Do you think tall bushes look better with lights spiraled around it, or stretched from base to tip?

Tell us about your decorating plans.  We're creating a map of Bakersfield's holiday lights.  Please tip us to the best displays by adding an address to the comments or e-mailnig mczarnecka@bakersfield.com.

If you went by what's in stock at stores, you might forget Thanksgiving before Christmas. While the commerce world may be ready to sell lights and ladders, holiday lights aren't up on homes quite yet.

We're getting ready to create a map of Bakersfield's lighting creations.  When do you start decorating?  Do you have a plan, or will you wing it?  Tell us where to look for your lights and we'll add you to our map.

E-mail your address to mczarnecka@bakersfield.com or post it in the comments below.  We'll only use it plot your lights on the map.
