(NaturalNews) Vaccines are the quackery of modern medicine. Mass vaccination programs not only fail to protect the population from infectious disease, they actually accelerate the spread of disease in many cases.

Many website have cropped up over the last few years to counter the pro-vaccine propaganda put out by drug companies (who profit from vaccines) and health regulators (who serve the drug companies). One of those sites is www.VaccinationDebate.com , which lists the following historical facts about vaccines:

• In the USA in 1960, two virologists discovered that both polio vaccines were contaminated with the SV 40 virus which causes cancer in animals as well as changes in human cell tissue cultures. Millions of children had been injected with these vaccines. (Med Jnl of Australia 17/3/1973 p555)

• In 1871-2, England, with 98% of the population aged between 2 and 50 vaccinated against smallpox, it experienced its worst ever smallpox outbreak with 45,000 deaths. • In Germany, compulsory mass vaccination against diphtheria commenced in 1940 and by 1945 diphtheria cases were up from 40,000 to 250,000. (Don't Get Stuck, Hannah Allen)

• In 1967, Ghana was declared measles free by the World Health Organisation after 96% of its population was vaccinated. In 1972, Ghana experienced one of its worst measles outbreaks with its highest ever mortality rate. (Dr H Albonico, MMR Vaccine Campaign in Switzerland, March 1990)

• In 1977, Dr Jonas Salk who developed the first polio vaccine, testified along with other scientists, that mass inoculation against polio was the cause of most polio cases throughout the USA since 1961. (Science 4/4/77 "Abstracts" )

• In the UK between 1970 and 1990, over 200,000 cases of whooping cough occurred in fully vaccinated children. (Community Disease Surveillance Centre, UK)

• In the 1970's a tuberculosis vaccine trial in India involving 260,000 people revealed that more cases of TB occurred in the vaccinated than the unvaccinated. (The Lancet 12/1/80 p73)

• In 1978, a survey of 30 States in the US revealed that more than half of the children who contracted measles had been adequately vaccinated. (The People's Doctor, Dr R Mendelsohn)

• The February 1981 issue of the Journal of the American Medical Association found that 90% of obstetricians and 66% of pediatricians refused to take the rubella vaccine.

• In 1979, Sweden abandoned the whooping cough vaccine due to its ineffectiveness. Out of 5,140 cases in 1978, it was found that 84% had been vaccinated three times! (BMJ 283:696-697, 1981)

• In the USA, the cost of a single DPT shot had risen from 11 cents in 1982 to $11.40 in 1987. The manufacturers of the vaccine were putting aside $8 per shot to cover legal costs and damages they were paying out to parents of brain damaged children and children who died after vaccination. • In Oman between 1988 and 1989, a polio outbreak occurred amongst thousands of fully vaccinated children. The region with the highest attack rate had the highest vaccine coverage. The region with the lowest attack rate had the lowest vaccine coverage. (The Lancet, 21/9/91)

• In 1990, a UK survey involving 598 doctors revealed that over 50% of them refused to have the Hepatitis B vaccine despite belonging to the high risk group urged to be vaccinated. (British Med Jnl, 27/1/1990)

• In the USA, from July 1990 to November 1993, the US Food and Drug Administration counted a total of 54,072 adverse reactions following vaccination. The FDA admitted that this number represented only 10% of the real total, because most doctors were refusing to report vaccine injuries. In other words, adverse reactions for this period exceeded half a million! (National Vaccine Information Centre, March 2, 1994)

• In 1990, the Journal of the American Medical Association had an article on measles which stated " Although more than 95% of school-aged children in the US are vaccinated against measles, large measles outbreaks continue to occur in schools and most cases in this setting occur among previously vaccinated children." (JAMA, 21/11/90)

• In the New England Journal of Medicine July 1994 issue a study found that over 80% of children under 5 years of age who had contracted whooping cough had been fully vaccinated.

• On November 2nd, 2000, the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons (AAPS) announced that its members voted at their 57th annual meeting in St Louis to pass a resolution calling for an end to mandatory childhood vaccines. The Silence of the Antiwar Movement is Deafening

Cindy Sheehan's Lonely Vigil in Obamaland

Cindy Sheehan will be at Martha’s Vineyard beginning August 25 a short way from Obama’s vacation paradise of the celebrity elite but very far from the Afghanistan and Pakistan and Iraq where the body bags and cemeteries fill up each day as Obama’s wars rage on.    She will remain there from August 25 through August 29 and has issued a call for all peace activists to join her there.  For those of us close by in the New England states and in New York City, there would seem to be a special obligation to get to Martha’s Vineyard as soon as we can.

A funny thing has happened on Cindy Sheehan’s long road from Crawford, Texas, to Martha’s Vineyard.   Many of those who claim to lead the peace movement and who so volubly praised her actions in Crawford, TX, are not to be seen.    Nor heard.  The silence in fact is deafening, or as Cindy put it in an email to this writer, “crashingly deafening.”  Where are the email appeals to join Cindy from The Nation or from AFSC or Peace Action or “Progressive” Democrats of America (PDA) or even Code Pink?   Or United for Peace and Justice. (No wonder UFPJ is essentially closing shop, bereft of most of their contributions and shriveling up following the thinly veiled protest behind the “retirement” of Leslie Cagan.)   And what about MoveOn although it was long ago thoroughly discredited as principled opponents of war or principled in any way shape or form except slavish loyalty to the “other” War Party.  And of course sundry “socialist” organizations are also missing in action since their particular dogma will not be front and center.  These worthies and many others have vanished into the fog of Obama’s wars.

Just to be sure, this writer contacted several of the “leaders” of the “official” peace movement in the Boston area – AFSC, Peace Action, Green Party of MA (aka Green Rainbow Party) and some others.  Not so much as the courtesy of a reply resulted from this effort - although the GRP at least posted a notice of the action.  (It is entirely possible that some of these organizations might mention Cindy’s action late enough and quickly enough so as to cover their derrieres while ensuring that  Obama will not be embarrassed by protesting crowds.)   We here in the vicinity of Beantown are but a hop, skip and cheap ferry ride from Martha’s Vineyard.   Same for NYC.  So we have a special obligation to respond to Cindy’s call.

However, not everyone has failed to publicize the event.  The Libertarians at Antiwar.com are on the job, and its editor in chief Justin Raimondo wrote a superb column Monday on the  hypocritical treatment of Sheehan by the “liberal” establishment.  (1)  As Raimondo pointed out, Rush Limbaugh captured the hypocrisy of the liberal left in his commentary, thus:

“Now that she’s headed to Martha’s Vineyard, the State-Controlled Media, Charlie Gibson, State-Controlled Anchor, ABC: ‘Enough already.’ Cindy, leave it alone, get out, we’re not interested, we’re not going to cover you going to Martha’s Vineyard because our guy is president now and you’re just a hassle. You’re just a problem. To these people, they never had any true, genuine emotional interest in her. She was just a pawn. She was just a woman to be used and then thrown overboard once they’re through with her and they’re through with her. They don’t want any part of Cindy Sheehan protesting against any war when Obama happens to be president."

Limbaugh has their number, just as they have his.  Sometimes it is quite amazing how well each of the war parties can spot the other’s hypocrisy. But Cindy Sheehan is no one’s dupe; she is a very smart and very determined woman who no doubt is giving a lot of White House operatives some very sleepless nights out there on the Vineyard.  Good for her.

Obama is an enormous gift to the Empire.  Just as he has silenced most of the single-payer movement, an effort characterized by its superb scholarship exceeded only by its timidity,  Obama has shut down the antiwar movement, completely in thrall as it is to the Democrat Party and Identity  Politics.   Why exactly the peace movement has caved to Obama is not entirely clear.  Like the single-payer movement, it is wracked by spinelessness, brimming with reverence for authority and a near insatiable appetite to be “part of the crowd.”  Those taken in by Obama’s arguments that the increasingly bloody and brutal AfPak war is actually a “war of necessity,” should read Steven Walt’s easy demolition of that “argument.” (2) Basically Obama’s logic is the same as Bush’s moronic rationale that “We are fighting them over there so we do not have to fight them over here.”  There is a potential for “safe havens for terrorists,” as the Obamalogues and neocons like to call them, all over the world; and no one can possibly believe the US can invade them all.  However, the ones which Israel detests or which allow control of oil pipelines or permit encirclement of China and Russia will see US troops sooner or later.

The bottom line is that everyone in New England and NYC who is a genuine antiwarrior should join the imaginative effort of Cindy Sheehan in Obamaland this week and weekend.  We owe it to the many who will otherwise perish at the hands of the war parties of Bush and Obama.

Even more interesting is the fact that the web link to the National Guard Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) of “Internment/Resettlement Specialist” that I included in my column was removed shortly after the column was published. Was this a coincidence?

Predictably, I heard from a sizeable number of readers who expressed concern about my “credibility.” Some were more direct: descriptions such as “conspiracy nut,” “lunatic,” “fringe,” etc., popped up quite often. Several readers dismissed the entire proposition on the basis that, apparently, the link I provided to a photo of one such camp that was reported in the Idaho Observer as a FEMA camp was actually constructed in another country. Which, if true, changes nothing, of course. Others pointed to a very shallow “exposé” published in Popular Mechanics that attempted (lamely) to debunk the whole notion of internment camps. Criticism and name-calling aside, after reading the responses from hundreds of readers (and examining the evidence they submitted), I am more convinced than ever that our federal government is, indeed, constructing large numbers of internment camps. And as one might expect, I heard from a large number of military and law enforcement personnel, which made the evidence even more compelling.

One statement from a retired Air Force colonel (who is still active in military associations and stays well-informed on military issues) was especially telling. He said, “The Indiana plant is an AMTRAK repair area–there are probably similar reasons for other facilities. [Which is, no doubt, true.] I was a primary member of ‘Continuity of Operations’ planning in my second tour in the Pentagon in the 1960s–such planning has continued apace! This country was–and to a large extent still is–totally unprepared for the after effects of nuclear exchange. The millions of casualties of humans and animals–notwithstanding the almost total loss of communications and government infrastructure like police, fire, emergency response, etc. THERE ARE AND SHOULD BE PLANS TO DECLARE MARTIAL LAW to keep order, to provide assistance for food, shelter, medical, etc. FEMA was designed to do this work to fill the terrible losses in continuity of operations, which would keep this country viable. Katrina is a tiny example of how an emergency can destroy an entire geographical area–and Katrina is just a minor example of where we would be as a result of a nuclear exchange. As with all things military you plan for the worst and hope for the best.

“We remain vulnerable to massive catastrophes in this country–natural or man-caused. We need to be prepared and FEMA with all its faults–BACKED BY THE MILITARY–is charged with this job.” (Emphasis added.)

Notice that the retired colonel did not challenge the existence of internment camps, but rather linked them, and military-backed FEMA, with martial law–and he saw nothing wrong with that. (Please note: the colonel brought up martial law; I did not. Plus, the colonel was not adversarial with me, but on the contrary, expressed familiarity and favor toward me.) Several military men who wrote me shared the colonel’s sentiment. Some of them expressed concern about the impact these plans will have on freedom and constitutional government, while others seemed completely unconcerned regarding any potential encroachment that plans of military action against American citizens might have upon the Bill of Rights. What is enlightening, however, is the fact that, regardless of the personal position taken, none of the military personnel who wrote me discounted the existence of internment camps.

Since the colonel brought up martial law, U.S. Congressman Paul Broun (R-GA) recently indicated that he believed the U.S. government was intending to do just that. See his comments at

Is all of this information simply to be discarded as hysteria?

Even Mr. Skeptoid himself, Brian Dunning, grudgingly acknowledges the probability of the existence of internment camps on U.S. soil. As with the retired Air Force colonel referred to above, Dunning senses nothing sinister about the existence of the camps, and he doesn’t address the numbers part of the story, but he does admit the plausibility of their existence.

Dunning wrote, “When I first heard the FEMA Prison Camp conspiracy story, it seemed ridiculous and paranoid at face value. But when I finally dug in to research it, I started by searching for the origins of the rumors, and found to my surprise that nearly all of the legal foundation and precedent for such a plan does in fact exist.”

As I was mulling over all this information, I remembered reading an interview that radio talk show host Geoff Metcalf had with author Ted Flynn regarding Flynn’s (then) new book, “Hope of the Wicked: The Master Plan to Rule the World.” According to Metcalf, “Flynn’s book provides a strong historical basis to show that there is a global elite working to end the sovereignty of nations and to place every person on earth under the authority of the United Nations.” This interview was conducted back in 2001, by the way.

In the interview, Metcalf asked Flynn, “Please explain what FEMA is. What is their authority and what is their job?”

Flynn replied, “The Federal Emergency Management Agency is probably going to be the enforcement arm of the New-World Order. Very few people could tell you that it is actually a cabinet position. By and large, a great percentage of their budget is ‘black ops.’ It’s really not on the books. You only hear of them a little bit when there are disasters. But there is a great agenda to gather information for the government in stealth.”

Metcalf then said, “I found it significant when Rep. Henry Gonzalez, D-Texas, clarified the question of the existence of civilian detention camps. In an interview a few years ago, he said, ‘the truth is yes–you do have these standby provisions, and the plans are here . . . whereby you could, in the name of stopping terrorism . . . evoke the military and arrest Americans and put them in detention camps.’ They DO exist.”

Flynn replied, “They do.”

Again, that our federal government has built large numbers of internment camps seems undeniable. What has not been determined is the purpose for which these facilities have been constructed. No one wants to believe that our government is planning evil designs upon us. Then again, neither did German Jews want to believe that their government was up to no good.

America’s founders believed that a central government could not be trusted, which is why they tried to fence it in with the U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights. Neither should citizens today trust the federal government. As President George Washington put it, “Government is not reason; it is not eloquence; it is force! Like fire, it is a dangerous servant and a fearful master.”

Therefore, keep a wary eye out for anything that the federal government could use to encroach upon our liberties and freedoms–even reports of internment camps. If the reports are bogus, you’ve lost nothing; but if they are real, you could end up losing your liberty.

Journalist Wayne Madsen tells Russia today scientists involved in creating previous vaccinations are telling family and friends not to take the H1N1 vaccine. Madsen also warns that the government may make the vaccination mandatory.

Scientists Confirm the Effectiveness of The Big Lie – People Will Go To Extraordinary Lengths to Create False Justifications for Government Misdeeds

All this was inspired by the principle–which is quite true in itself–that in the big lie there is always a certain force of credibility; because the broad masses of a nation are always more easily corrupted in the deeper strata of their emotional nature than consciously or voluntarily; and thus in the primitive simplicity of their minds they more readily fall victims to the big lie than the small lie, since they themselves often tell small lies in little matters but would be ashamed to resort to large-scale falsehoods. It would never come into their heads to fabricate colossal untruths, and they would not believe that others could have the impudence to distort the truth so infamously. Even though the facts which prove this to be so may be brought clearly to their minds, they will still doubt and waver and will continue to think that there may be some other explanation. For the grossly impudent lie always leaves traces behind it, even after it has been nailed down, a fact which is known to all expert liars in this world and to all who conspire together in the art of lying.

Similarly, Hitler’s propaganda minister, Joseph Goebbels, wrote:

That is of course rather painful for those involved. One should not as a rule reveal one’s secrets, since one does not know if and when one may need them again. The essential English leadership secret does not depend on particular intelligence. Rather, it depends on a remarkably stupid thick-headedness. The English follow the principle that when one lies, one should lie big, and stick to it. They keep up their lies, even at the risk of looking ridiculous.

Science has now helped to explain why the big lie is effective.

Specifically, sociologists from four major research institutions investigated why so many Americans believed that Saddam Hussein was behind 9/11, years after it became obvious that Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11.

The researchers found, as described in an article in the journal Sociological Inquiry (and re-printed by Newsweek):

• Many Americans felt an urgent need to seek justification for a war already in progress

• Rather than search rationally for information that either confirms or disconfirms a particular belief, people actually seek out information that confirms what they already believe.

• “For the most part people completely ignore contrary information.”

• “The study demonstrates voters’ ability to develop elaborate rationalizations based on faulty information”

• People get deeply attached to their beliefs, and form emotional attachments that get wrapped up in their personal identity and sense of morality, irrespective of the facts of the matter.

• “We refer to this as ‘inferred justification, because for these voters, the sheer fact that we were engaged in war led to a post-hoc search for a justification for that war.

• “People were basically making up justifications for the fact that we were at war”

• “They wanted to believe in the link [between 9/11 and Iraq] because it helped them make sense of a current reality. So voters’ ability to develop elaborate rationalizations based on faulty information, whether we think that is good or bad for democratic practice, does at least demonstrate an impressive form of creativity.

As the study notes, this tendency of many people to make up false stories to explain why we went to war and then to hold on to such false beliefs in the face of contrary evidence is “a serious challenge to democratic theory and practice”. Until people learn to think more clearly and rationally, they are easily manipulated.

All a government has to do is tell a big enough lie, and many people will swallow it hook, line and sinker. Or the government can just do something big – like starting a war for no good reason (or giving trillions in bailouts to the wealthiest corporations instead of the “little people” who most need it?) – and many people will struggle mightily to themselves concoct false justifications for doing so.

The former governor gives us a glimpse into his upcoming show, which will delve into and investigate various areas of ‘controversial history.’ Ventura won’t give away the episode topics, but does tell us that Alex will be part of the show, and that areas like 9/11 will be explored.

Authorities are preparing to seize children from schools, set up quarantines and morgues, conduct mass vaccinations, and deal with riots and unrest, according to an international swine flu summit recently held in Washington DC which was attended by distinguished scientists, industry leaders and top health officials from all over the globe.

A conference first discussed by this website three weeks ago has now taken place, with health authorities meeting at the end of last week to finalize response plans to a swine flu pandemic that has been all but guaranteed to occur this coming fall.

According to a  PDF information leaflet released before the meeting, attendees were briefed on how to “conduct morgue operations,” manage an interruption in food supplies and “manage panic caused by sudden disruption of services & interruptions in essential goods & services”.

During a swine flu pandemic, their duties would also include dealing with civil disturbances, controlling and diffusing social unrest and public disorder, carrying out mass vaccination programs and enforcing quarantines, according to the conference documentation.

One of the most shocking modules of the conference deals with “School/University Pandemic Planning” and strongly implies that authorities will usurp parental rights over children in the event of a swine flu pandemic.

“Concurrent Breakout Session #10″ outlines plans to “train teachers to screen for symptoms & know what to do when students / teachers fall ill,” before then transporting ill students, which presumably means transporting them to quarantine zones with or without the consent of parents. The use of schools as “shelters” or quarantine centers is also mentioned.

As we have documented, authorities have been training to raid and remove children from schools during times of emergency for over a decade, mainly under the auspices of preparing for school shootings or during drug sweeps.

In October 2001, authorities swooped in to kidnap and remove 115 children from Heartland Christian Academy without a warrant. Children were forcibly loaded onto buses like criminals as they screamed for help in  shocking scenes featured in Alex Jones’ Road To Tyranny documentary.

Earlier this month we reported on how a Maine high school was taken over by Marines in a drill focused around riots during a mass vaccination program. In this scenario, the rioters were begging for the vaccine, but obviously the opposite is likely to be the case if a mandatory vaccination program is announced, if there are riots then they will consist of people refusing to take the shot.

On August 19, MSNBC’s Keith Olbermann took the airwaves warning us of the danger posed to the nation by the Arizona man who brought an AR-15 to an Obamacare event. Olbermann attempted to link the man to the so-called militia movement by way of Ernest Hancock, the editor of the Freedom’s Phoenix website, a constitutional news portal established to provide information as an alternative “to the filters of a slavering collective mainstream media awaiting the approval of their government masters.”

Olbermann attempted to connect Hancock to the Arizona Viper Militia.

On July 1, 1996, the BATF arrested a dozen members of the so-called Viper Militia and accused the group of a nefarious plot. President Clinton congratulated the BATF and saluted “the enforcement officers who made the arrests in Arizona yesterday to avert a terrible terrorist attack. Their dedication and hard work over the last six months may have saved many lives.” AG Janet Reno chimed in with effusive praise and declared the agency had saved the nation from “a potentially dangerous situation.” Raymond Kelly of the Treasury Department said the government had put an end to an “armed and dangerous” militia group determined to stir up “civil unrest.”

The government said the Viper Militia had plotted to blow up federal buildings, including the Phoenix Police Department and the Arizona National Guard headquarters. In addition, they supposedly planned to attack a local television station. The BATF claimed to have confiscated 77 machine guns, hundreds of other firearms, tens of thousands of rounds of ammunition, booby traps, tons of ammonium nitrate — the fertilizer absurdly said to have been used in the Oklahoma City bombing — and explosives such as nitromethane and lead azide.

In December of 1996, Alan W. Bock, writing for Reason Magazine, did a reality check on the government story and subsequent corporate media propaganda. Since the arrests earlier in the year, “some details have come to light that suggest the Vipers were not quite as dangerous as the BATF would have us believe,” Bock wrote. In fact, there wasn’t a plot to blow up government buildings or attack television stations.

Furthermore, the “vast arsenal” kept shrinking. Seventy-seven machine guns dwindled to four, and the unstable lead azide was transformed into lead styphnate, then lead picrate, a less dangerous compound. The amount of ammonium nitrate was reduced to 500 pounds, plus 14 or 15 gallons of nitromethane, all of which is legal to possess. But we’ll have to take the BATF’s word for all of this, because agents rushed the seized explosives (alleged explosives?) to the desert and blew them up. Most of the guns turned out to be legal World War I and World War II surplus rifles–not surprising, since a couple of the men arrested were collectors and one had a federal firearms license.

In fact, the group in question didn’t consider itself a militia. It referred to itself as the Viper Team or Team Viper, not the Viper Militia. “This particular militia threat seems to have been conjured up mainly by the BATF,” notes Bock. It was a fabrication cooked up by a couple infiltrators inserted in the militia that was not a militia after a group of Boy Scouts encountered armed people in camouflage who were setting off explosions in the Tonto National Forest, about 60 miles northeast of Phoenix.

During court hearings in the trumped up case, BATF supervisor Steven Ott admitted under oath that one of these infiltrators had urged the other members to rob banks. According to Louis Sahagun of the Los Angeles Times, they all refused, Vin Suprynowicz wrote for the September, 1996, issue of Liberty Magazine.

The government is infamous for this particular sort of entrapment, as numerous news stories over the last couple years reveal. As Infowars reported earlier this week, radio talk show host and blogger Hal Turner was trained by the FBI to set-up and bust people in the patriot movement. COINTELPRO is alive and well in America.

Olbermann’s outlandish claim rests on the fact that five members of the Vipers eventually entered into a plea agreement on weapons charges. The supposed leader of the group, Gary Bauer, also pleaded guilty on weapons charges. “He just thought it would be in his best interests,” Bauer’s attorney told The Washington Post on December 20, 1996.

Six of the accused were released from jail “after promising to stay away from explosives and firearms and to not break any laws,” the Los Angeles Times reported on July 12, 1996. “Family members and friends promised they would act as responsible third parties to ensure that the released defendants remained at home wearing electronic monitoring devices and reported to the court daily.”

Olbermann didn’t bother to tell his audience the outcome of the Viper case. On March 20, 1997, the Los Angeles Times reported that members who were not members of the Viper Militia received “the most lenient prison terms possible under plea agreements with the government…. The sentences ranged from a year and a day in prison with a $1,500 fine to three concurrent 37-month terms and a $2,500 fine.”

The Times also reported that the convicted accused the government of exaggerating their “paramilitary activities” to look tough on domestic terrorism. Moreover, an agent with the BATF testified during the trial that no plot was imminent.

Olbermann and his guest Mark Potok of the Southern Poverty Law Center — a perennial “expert” on the corporate media propaganda circuit — only repeated the government’s absurd accusations and did not mention the fact that nobody in the case was convicted of terrorism or was there in fact a terrorist plot. It was a government fabrication.

But then the point is not accurate news reporting but rather the dissemination of lies and propaganda aimed at law-abiding Americans and at the very heart of the Constitution and the Second Amendment. Olbermann’s propaganda moment was intended to link “Chris” from Phoenix to Ernest Hancock and the mirage that is the Viper Militia.

It was also an effort to expand on the government narrative put forth in the Department of Homeland Security’s “rightwing extremism” report designed to demonize the growing patriot movement as homegrown terrorists and violent racists.

Greenpeace leader Gerd Leipold has been forced to admit that his organization issued misleading and exaggerated information when it claimed that Arctic ice would disappear completely by 2030, in a crushing blow for the man-made global warming movement.

In an interview with the BBC’s Stephen Sackur on the “Hardtalk” program, Leipold initially attempted to evade the question but was ultimately forced to admit that Greenpeace had made a “mistake” when it said Arctic ice would disappear completely in 20 years.

The claim stems from a July 15 Greenpeace press release entitled “Urgent Action Needed As Arctic Ice Melts,” in which it is stated that global warming will lead to an ice-free Arctic by 2030.

Sackur accused Leipold and Greenpeace of releasing “misleading information” based on “exaggeration and alarmism,” pointing out that it was “preposterous” to claim that the Greenland ice sheet, a mass of 1.6 million square kilometers with a thickness of 3 km in the middle that has survived much warmer periods in history, would completely melt when it had stood firm for hundreds of thousands of years.

“There is no way that ice sheet is going to disappear,” said Sackur.

“I don’t think it will be melting by 2030. … That may have been a mistake,” Leipold was eventually forced to admit.

However, Leipold made no apologies for Greenpeace’s tactic of “emotionalizing issues” as a means of trying to get the public to accept its stance on global warming.

He also argued that economic growth in the United States and around the world should be suppressed and that overpopulation and high standards of living should be combated because of the perceived damage they were doing to the environment, eugenicist rhetoric which will be familiar to our readers and anyone who has watched Alex Jones’ Endgame documentary.

As the Watts Up With That blog highlights, “Leipold’s admission that Greenpeace issued misleading information is a major embarrassment to the organization, which often has been accused of alarmism but has always insisted that it applies full scientific rigor in its global-warming pronouncements.”

Similar claims that the north pole will be “ice free” crop up almost every summer yet are routinely disproved.

Indeed, it was discovered that during August 2007 to August 2008, Arctic ice had in fact grown by around 30 per cent, an area equivalent to the size of Germany.

A new peer reviewed study has also discovered, “Total annual precipitation in Greenland ice sheet for 1958-2007 to be up to 24% and surface mass balance up to 63% higher than previously thought.”

As we reported last year, climate scientists allied with the UN IPCC were also caught citing fake data to make the case that global warming is accelerating, in another shocking example of mass public deception.

In November 2008, NASA’s Goddard Institute for Space Studies (GISS), run by Al Gore’s chief scientific ally, Dr James Hansen, announced that the previous month had been the hottest October on record. It later emerged that the data produced by NASA to make the claim, and in particular temperature records covering large areas of Russia, was merely carried over from the previous month. NASA had used temperature records from the naturally hotter month of September and claimed they represented temperature figures in October.

In a recent hearing of the Senate Commerce Committee, Chairman John D. Rockefeller IV refers to John Holdren as “walking on water”- inferring on the current science czar a saint-like status and reaffirming Rockefeller’s admiration of anyone pushing the depopulation agenda his family has propagated for the better part of the 20th century. In the current century, it seems, the family is no less committed to its age-old objectives.

At the hearing, focusing primarily on the possible creation of a “National Climate Service”, Rockefeller took off his hat for Holdren, saying:

“The President, I think, has surrounded himself with some of the most brilliant choices.” After this disturbing introduction, Rockefeller addressed the science czar directly, stating:

“Dr. Holdren, I don’t want to embarrass you, but I sometimes refer to you as walking on water.”

This disgusting statement just about says it all. It reflects the Rockefeller’s long-time devotion to depopulation and eugenics perfectly well. It also illustrates the prime goal of the Obama administration and its crony’s.

Like for example, Frank Alix, CEO of a New Hampshire company specialising in removing carbon from coal-burning emissions, receiving the big contracts in this day of shrouded eugenics and run amok environmentalism. Alix testified before Rockefeller earlier this year, apparently after Holdren suggested having him testify before the Commerce Committee. Alluding to such a backroom deal, Rockefeller stated:

“That may be the end of your career. But, you know, we brought that 5 percent carbon guy from New Hampshire and had him sit right where you are and he told us all about it because you told me about it. A really superb technical scientific team. And everything else: The questions we ask and how do Americans understand all of this and react to it is incredibly important. But what we need to know that is already in place and working is the top part of the team—spreading out and coordinating superb thinking, superb arguments and, you know, a superb policy.”

That John D. Rockefeller felt prone to complement eugenicist John Holdren openly is a telling sign that the elite’s members no longer feel inclined to hide themselves behind stalwart stoicism. The present administration, with all its immoral views on human life, apparently provides these New World Order chieftains with the confidence to applaud each other’s ideas right out in the open.

Holdren Forced To Respond To Controversy Over Totalitarian Population Control Proposals

Science and technology advisor’s response to controversy full of spin, half-truths and outright lies

Obama’s top science and technology advisor John P. Holdren has been forced to issue a statement in which he denies advocating the totalitarian population control proposals outlined in his own academic textbook. However, Holdren’s response is a tissue of half-truths, spin and outright lies.

The controversy began this past weekend when fresh attention was given to passages from the 1977 book Ecoscience, which Holdren Co-authored with close colleagues Paul Ehrlich and Anne Ehrlich, leading to accusations that Holdren supported the numerous eugenicist policies outlined in the book.

“This material is from a three-decade-old, three-author college textbook. Dr. Holdren addressed this issue during his confirmation when he said he does not believe that determining optimal population is a proper role of government. Dr. Holdren is not and never has been an advocate for policies of forced sterilization,” reads a statement provided by Holdren’s staff.

A statement from Holdren’s co-authors the Ehrlichs was also released by the White House which read, “Anybody who actually wants to know what we and/or Professor Holdren believe and recommend about these matters would presumably read some of the dozens of publications that we and he separately have produced in more recent times, rather than going back a third of a century to find some formulations in an encyclopedic textbook where description can be misrepresented as endorsement.”

During his confirmation hearing, when asked whether he thought “determining optimal population is a proper role of the government,” Holdren answered, “No, Senator, I do not.”

Is it likely that Holdren’s true feelings towards overpopulation can be extracted from a five word response at a confirmation hearing, or from his own encyclopedic length textbook?

On the one hand we have to weigh the credibility of a one sentence comment at the public sideshow of a confirmation hearing, a spectacle that has become synonymous with the art of lying, deception, and hiding skeletons in the closet, as can be witnessed right now with the Judge Sonia Sotomayor hearings.

On the other hand we have a 1000-plus page book which is littered with proposals centered around forced abortion, numerous different methods of forced sterilization and numerous other proposals describing invasive government control of pregnancy and the life cycle.

Which is likelier to be a true representation of Holdren’s real position on the subject?

Holdren’s claim that he “never has been an advocate for policies of forced sterilization,” alongside the Ehrlich’s claim that “formulations” in the Ecoscience textbook have been misrepresented as endorsements, is provably an outright lie.

Phrases such as “it has been concluded” are used in the book alongside proposals for forced abortion, such as the passage on page 837 which reads, “Indeed, it has been concluded that compulsory population-control laws, even including laws requiring compulsory abortion, could be sustained under the existing Constitution if the population crisis became sufficiently severe to endanger the society.”

Holdren and the Ehrlich’s do not identify who “it has been concluded” by, leaving the reader in no doubt that “it has been concluded” by the writers themselves that forced abortion should be introduced. This is called “hiding behind the passive voice.” It provides the writers plausible deniability, but only the idiotically naive would deny that it represents anything other than an endorsement of forced abortion and sterilization.

Furthermore, the whole tone of the Ecoscience book is directed against those who would disagree with coercive population control measures. These people are even referred to in a derisory tone as “pro-natalists,” a word invented purely for the purposes of the book. The book does not merely present a neutral stance on “formulations” as is claimed – the endorsement of these proposals is implicit in the fact that opponents of them are scorned throughout the book.

Ecoscience is clearly an endorsement of totalitarian population reduction measures. Anyone who has read the quotes contained in the book in their full context can see that this is manifestly the case. Holdren and the Ehrlichs are presumably counting on the fact that the book is now out of print and that no one will actually read it, because if they did then the entire context of what the book endorses becomes crystal clear.

Furthermore, some of the nightmarish proposals about adding sterilants to the water supply and food that are outlined in Ecoscience are already taking place, with global sperm counts dropping worldwide, partly as a result of the discovery of antiandrogens in rivers and lakes, which are also used in pesticides, and have been found to release “endocrine disruptors” that induce demasculinization in both fish and rats, according to several scientific studies.

It is also somewhat amusing to see that the Ehrlichs are trying to distance themselves from positions they held 30 years ago and attempting to get people to focus only on what they are saying now. I’m sure this has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that Paul Ehrlich’s alarmist predictions about overpopulation which were made in the 1960’s and 70’s have proven to be spectacularly wrong, wrong and wrong again in every instance.

It would be very embarrassing indeed for more people to learn about how Ehrlich predicted that England would not exist by the year 2000, that 4 billion people would starve to death during the 1980’s, and that the average American life span would be 45 years of age by the start of the 21st century, especially that Ehrlich now spews his doomsday threats under the banner of global warming alarmism.

Holdren’s attempt to use the fact that the book is over 30 years old to distance himself from its content is also a deceptive move, because before this controversy arose, Holdren was perfectly happy to conduct a major interview with the Associated Press with the book proudly displayed on his bookshelf in the background. If Holdren has changed his mind about the proposals in the book, or never agreed with those presented by his fellow authors in the first place, then why does he prominently display a copy during this interview?

In the video, Holdren talks about “geoengineering,” effectively terraforming the planet by injecting untested aerosols into the upper atmosphere in an apparent attempt to offset “global warming,” with unknown side effects.

This brings to mind another example where Holdren has flip-flopped and apparently changed his mind in an attempt to defuse controversy.

In April, Holdren told the media that talks were already underway within the Obama administration to explore the possibility of geoengineering the planet. However, following a largely negative reaction, Holdren then backpedaled and told the New York Times that administration level talks had not taken place. Days later, Holdren told an Massachusetts Institute of Technology audience that , “Large-scale geoengineering projects designed to cool the Earth could conceivably be done.”

We reprint below quotes from Ecoscience and leave the reader to make their own mind up about whether the book was merely presenting “formulations,” as the Ehrlichs claim, or whether they were de facto endorsements, keeping in mind the fact that opponents of such measures are regularly undermined throughout the whole book.

Page 786: Single mothers should have their babies taken away by the government; or they could be forced to have abortions

“One way to carry out this disapproval might be to insist that all illegitimate babies be put up for adoption—especially those born to minors, who generally are not capable of caring properly for a child alone. If a single mother really wished to keep her baby, she might be obliged to go through adoption proceedings and demonstrate her ability to support and care for it. Adoption proceedings probably should remain more difficult for single people than for married couples, in recognition of the relative difficulty of raising children alone. It would even be possible to require pregnant single women to marry or have abortions, perhaps as an alternative to placement for adoption, depending on the society.”

Page 787-8: Mass sterilization of humans though drugs in the water supply is OK as long as it doesn’t harm livestock

“Adding a sterilant to drinking water or staple foods is a suggestion that seems to horrify people more than most proposals for involuntary fertility control. Indeed, this would pose some very difficult political, legal, and social questions, to say nothing of the technical problems. No such sterilant exists today, nor does one appear to be under development. To be acceptable, such a substance would have to meet some rather stiff requirements: it must be uniformly effective, despite widely varying doses received by individuals, and despite varying degrees of fertility and sensitivity among individuals; it must be free of dangerous or unpleasant side effects; and it must have no effect on members of the opposite sex, children, old people, pets, or livestock.”

Page 786-7: The government could control women’s reproduction by either sterilizing them or implanting mandatory long-term birth control

Involuntary fertility control

“A program of sterilizing women after their second or third child, despite the relatively greater difficulty of the operation than vasectomy, might be easier to implement than trying to sterilize men.

The development of a long-term sterilizing capsule that could be implanted under the skin and removed when pregnancy is desired opens additional possibilities for coercive fertility control. The capsule could be implanted at puberty and might be removable, with official permission, for a limited number of births.”

Page 838: The kind of people who cause “social deterioration” can be compelled to not have children

“If some individuals contribute to general social deterioration by overproducing children, and if the need is compelling, they can be required by law to exercise reproductive responsibility—just as they can be required to exercise responsibility in their resource-consumption patterns—providing they are not denied equal protection.“

Page 838: Nothing is wrong or illegal about the government dictating family size

“In today’s world, however, the number of children in a family is a matter of profound public concern. The law regulates other highly personal matters. For example, no one may lawfully have more than one spouse at a time. Why should the law not be able to prevent a person from having more than two children?”

Page 942-3: A “Planetary Regime” should control the global economy and dictate by force the number of children allowed to be born

Toward a Planetary Regime

“Perhaps those agencies, combined with UNEP and the United Nations population agencies, might eventually be developed into a Planetary Regime—sort of an international superagency for population, resources, and environment. Such a comprehensive Planetary Regime could control the development, administration, conservation, and distribution of all natural resources, renewable or nonrenewable, at least insofar as international implications exist. Thus the Regime could have the power to control pollution not only in the atmosphere and oceans, but also in such freshwater bodies as rivers and lakes that cross international boundaries or that discharge into the oceans. “The Planetary Regime might be given responsibility for determining the optimum population for the world and for each region and for arbitrating various countries’ shares within their regional limits. Control of population size might remain the responsibility of each government, but the Regime would have some power to enforce the agreed limits.”

Page 917: We will need to surrender national sovereignty to an armed international police force

“If this could be accomplished, security might be provided by an armed international organization, a global analogue of a police force. Many people have recognized this as a goal, but the way to reach it remains obscure in a world where factionalism seems, if anything, to be increasing. Page 749: Pro-family and pro-birth attitudes are caused by ethnic chauvinism

It’s too bad the woman in the video below confronting Barney Frank over Obamacare didn’t come with facts instead of slinging the word “Nazi” around. The corporate media loves it when people compare Obama to Hitler and accuse the administration of Nazism. It makes it easier to dismiss the opposition as mental patients.

Lately the corporate media have spent a lot of time and energy roasting former VP candidate Sarah Palin for her comments on Obama’s proposed death panels. Palin didn’t provide a lot of detail in her Facebook entry on the subject and this provided plenty of opportunity for Democrats. The Democratic Congressional Committee exploited the controversy to raise money and Keith Olbermann called the former Alaska governor a “clear and present danger to the safety and security of this nation.”

Republicans beat a hasty retreat. Sen. Johnny Isakson, a Republican from Georgia, called Palin’s comments “nuts” and Rep. Jack Kingston, also from Georgia, went on Bill Maher’s HBO show and said the comment about death panels is a scare tactic.

Republicans may run away from Palin’s comment and Democrats may use it to raise money and portray opponents as rightwing nut cases, but there is something to the death panel comment. In fact, as Joseph Ashby pointed out on the American Thinker website on August 15, the idea predates Obama’s health care bill and is basically a done deal.

“H.R. 1 (more commonly known as the Recovery and Reinvestment Act, even more commonly known as the Stimulus Bill and aptly dubbed the Porkulus Bill) contains a whopping $1.1 billion to fund the Federal Coordinating Council for Comparative Effectiveness Research. The Council is the brain child of former Health and Human Services Secretary Nominee Tom Daschle,” writes Ashby.

You won’t hear the foul-mouth Maher or the Democrat attack dog Olbermann mention the Federal Coordinating Council for Comparative Effectiveness Research. Its purpose is to empower an unelected bureaucracy to make decisions about health care rationing that elected politicians are politically unable to make, according to Ashby. Daschle argues that Americans ought to be more like Europeans who passively accept “hopeless diagnoses.”

Betsy McCaughey, former Lieutenant governor of New York, has something to say about this council.

“Daschle says health-care reform ‘will not be pain free.’ Seniors should be more accepting of the conditions that come with age instead of treating them,” she writes.

Daschle prescribed his draconian measures in a 2008 book entitled “Critical: What We Can Do About the Health-Care Crisis.” Daschle, who was passed over to head the Health and Human Services Department and suffers from a trait common to minions of the global and corporate elite — he “failed” to pay $128,000 in taxes — said doctors have to give up autonomy and “learn to operate less like solo practitioners,” that is to say they should become government bureaucrats.

The Federal Coordinating Council for Comparative Effectiveness Research is dominated by “Doctor Death,” Ezekiel Emanuel. “Dr. Emanuel’s views on care of the elderly should frighten anyone who is or ever plans on being old,” writes Ashby.

Emanuel is Obama’s chief adviser on healthcare and brother of White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel. He is a trained oncologist and a “bioethicist,” that is to say a eugenicist. He is also a communitarian (newspeak for communism) and a fellow at the nonprofit bioethics research institute, The Hastings Center, a Rockefeller operation. Theodore Dobzhansky, the founding director of the Hastings Center, was chairman of the American Eugenics Society. Daniel Callahan, founder of the organization, was a director of the Eugenics Society.

Eugenics is the template for Obamacare, never mind what Maher and Olbermann say about those kooky conservatives. Peter Orszag, currently the White House Budget Director, sent his deputy Philip Ellis to Hastings last May to assure the Center that “comparative effectiveness” would be the criterion for an Obama Administration’s attack on respect for human life.

“Comparative effectiveness” indeed means grandma will get a ticket to ride to Valhalla if the communitarian eugenicist Emanuel and his fellows have their way.

Obama’s Regulatory Czar Cass Sunstein, writes Ashby, will figure prominently in the Obamacare scheme. “How does Sunstein approach end of life care? In 2003 he wrote a paper for the AEI-Brookings Joint Center for Regulatory Studies arguing that human life varies in value. Specifically he champions statistical methods that give preference to what the government rates as ‘quality-adjusted life years.’ Meaning, the government decides whether a person’s life is worth living. If the government decides the life is not worth living, it is the individual’s duty to die to free up welfare payments for the young and productive.”

It’s too bad the woman confronting Frank didn’t quote Obama himself, who suggested a woman with heart disease “should take a painkiller” instead of getting a pacemaker. During the same health care infomercial, Obama said “end-of-life care is one of the most difficult sets of decisions that we’re going to have to make,” in other words decisions the Federal Coordinating Council for Comparative Effectiveness Research — stacked with eugenicists tutored by the Rockefellers — will make.

The opposition to Obamacare should get an education on what the government has in mind for the elderly and disabled — eugenics, plain and simple. No smart aleck retorts by the “progressive” Bill Maher or MSNBC’s prized liberal attack dog Keith Olbermann will disguise this fact.

So-called liberals like to pretend Obama is one of them when in fact he is a front man for a ruling elite determined to realize their Malthusian goal of ultimately eliminating the poor and those they deem racially and intellectually inferior. It was David Rockefeller’s father who exported eugenics to Germany from its origins in Britain by bankrolling the Kaiser Wilhelm Institute, an effort that ultimately resulted in the scientific extermination of millions of people in Europe.

“In the 1950s, the Rockefellers reorganized the U.S. eugenics movement in their own family offices, with spinoff population-control and abortion groups. The Eugenics Society changed its name to the Society for the Study of Social Biology, its current name,” notes Dr. Len Horowitz. “With support from the Rockefellers, the Eugenics Society (England) set up a sub-committee called the International Planned Parenthood Federation, which for 12 years had no other address than the Eugenics Society.”

It is no mistake the folks calling the shots on Obamacare are connected to the American Eugenics Society. It’s all part of the plan to cull the useless eaters and realize the goal stamped on the Georgia Guidestones — reduce world population to 500 million.

One wonders if Barney Frank, presented with the facts, would dismiss the argument and claim he is talking to a dining room table.

Radio talk show host and blogger Hal Turner was an FBI trained agent provocateur, his attorney told reporters in Hartford today. The supposed white supremacist worked for the agency from 2002 until 2007. “His job was basically to publish information which would cause other parties to act in a manner which would lead to their arrest,” Michael Orozco told the Associated Press.

Earlier this year Turner told his blog readers to “take up arms” against Connecticut lawmakers. He also said government officials should “obey the Constitution or die.” In June he wrote that the Illinois federal appeals judges “deserve to be killed” because they issued a ruling that upheld ordinances in Chicago and suburban Oak Park banning handguns. Turner included photos of the judges and the room numbers of their chambers at the courthouse.

Orozco said he plans First Amendment defenses in both the Connecticut and Illinois cases.

Under COINTELPRO in the 1960s and early 70s, the FBI used a variety of dirty tricks against its targets including wiretapping and assassination — as well as the use of agents provocateurs — in coordination with state and local police.

As the case against Turner and the revelations of his attorney reveal, the government did not abandon its COINTELPRO tactics, as it claimed in the mid 1970s. The FBI, acting as the establishment’s political secret police, continues to undermine political movements the elite consider dangerous and a threat to their control and influence.

Members of the patriot movement in particular should take note of Turner’s revelations. The government is not interested in subverting the globalist foundation comprised and neutered so-called left but rather a growing patriot movement that demands an end to the Federal Reserve, a return to a constitutional republic, and resistance to predatory globalism and world government.

Hal Turner specifically attempted to appeal to the patriot movement and the constitutionalists. It should serve as a wake-up call that the FBI trained him as an agent provocateur.

A new article in TIME magazine suggests that geo-engineering the planet may be the only way forward to prevent the climate “collapsing”.

Bryan Walsh’s article, entitled Can Geoengineering Help Slow Global Warming?suggests that through the use of fossil fuels we are “already geoengineers” and that “we might as well get good at it.”

“If we geoengineered the earth into a mess with our uncontrolled appetite for fossil fuels, maybe we have to geoengineer our way out of it” Walsh writes, citing a new paper by the think tank Copenhagen Consensus on Climate.

In the paper, co-author Lee Lane cites all the usual suggestions of how the planet could be cooled including space mirrors, seawater-mist and man-made volcanoes.

The most prominent form of geoengineering suggested in the paper, however, comes in the form of spraying sulfur into the air.

“One way to turn down the thermostat would be to spread sulfur particles into the atmosphere, either through artillery or with airplanes, thickening the air enough so that it would bounce some sunlight back …it would need to be done continuously, to keep up with the intensifying greenhouse effect.” the article explains.

As we previously highlighted when this issue last hit the headlines, the process described here is already being conducted by government-affiliated universities, government agencies, and on a mass scale through chemtrail spraying.

The study of past and ongoing upper atmosphere aerosol programs confirms that the government has been active in this field for years.

The topic of geoengineering came to the fore back in April when Obama’s science czar John Holdren commented in an AP interview that he was pushing for radical terra forming programs to be explored.

Holdren’s suggestions for planetary geoengineering exactly mirrored those in publications penned by the elite internationalist group The Council On Foreign Relations, who also called for the implementation of a global Carbon Tax in 1999.

The Director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy then back pedaled 360 degrees on his own comments when the wider media picked up on them and turned them into major headlines.

Holdren’s interest in radical geoengineering programs should be of great concern to the American people and the rest of the world given that he has also advocated extreme population control techniques including forced abortions and mass sterilization all under the oversight of a “Planetary Regime”.

Impossible, you say? That must be an exaggeration or a hoax. If you don’t believe it you can read it for yourself in Holdren’s own book  Ecoscience, co-authored in 1977. Excerpts of the book can also be found in another of our previous articles on Holdren here.

Interestingly, Lee Lane, the author of the new geoengineering paper, is also a fellow at the American Enterprise Institute, a common hangout for neoconservatives such as John Bolton, David Frum, Irving Kristol, Richard Perle, Paul Wolfowitz and John Yoo.

The AEI is renowned for casting doubt on the theory of human caused global warming, and is heavily funded by energy companies, but it is also best known as a forum to engender business opportunities.

These tentative announcements and recycling of ideas to terra form the planet constitute a first step toward introducing the idea to the wider public.

One of the accepted truisms of scientific study is the fact that if scientists are proposing an idea, then those scientists with access to the bottomless pit of black-budget secret government funding are already doing it.

It is highly likely that sulfur spraying and chemtrails are merely one manifestation of “geo-engineering” that is taking place without proper debate, notification or any form of legality, and with a callous disregard for the potential dangers to both our health and our environment.

Much to the chagrin of the establishment left, Firas Alkhateeb is not a Republican and not a white supremacist

The revelation that the author of the Obama Joker poster is a politically independent Muslim-American, and not a Republican white supremacist as the establishment left had hoped, puts the final nail in the coffin of the smear that the poster depicting President Obama as Heath Ledger’s version of the Joker in Batman was in any way racist.

“The Los Angeles Times tracked down the artist of the evocative, unflattering depiction of President Obama as The Joker from The Dark Knight and he may not be whom you pictured,” reports ABC News, implying that many on the left pictured the culprit to be some kind of white robe wearing Klan member, if the hysterical reaction of the media when the posters first began to appear in LA was anything to go by.

Shortly after the flyers began to be seen around Los Angeles, the L.A. Weekly and other leftist news outlets denounced the image as “racist” and “dangerous,” claiming that the picture represented “Obama as a black-and-white minstrel in reverse”.

Washington Post writer Philip Kennicott called the image a “subtly coded, highly effective racial and political argument”.

It turns out the image was created not by a Republican white supremacist but by a Muslim-American of Palestinian descent who didn’t vote for Obama or McCain.

Firas Alkhateeb, a 20-year-old senior history major at the University of Illinois, created the image as a reaction to the Christ-like status being afforded to Obama by the establishment, and also in protest at Obama’s appointment of Rahm Emanuel as his chief of staff.

“Emanuel is a fervent anti-Islam voice in Washington,” he wrote on his Flickr page. “A Zionist, he takes a hard line stance against the Palestinian cause, and shows a clear anti-Muslim racism. Besides that, he is the embodiment of ‘political partisanship’ that Obama was supposedly going to change!”

Alkhateeb created the image by using a software program to “Jokerize” the photo of Obama which was carried on the front page of Time Magazine. He then uploaded the picture to photo-sharing site Flickr, where it sat relatively unknown for two months, before traffic exploded after a still anonymous individual began plastering the poster up around Los Angeles with the word “socialism” added underneath.

“After Obama was elected, you had all of these people who basically saw him as the second coming of Christ,” Alkhateeb said. “From my perspective, there wasn’t much substance to him.”

Speaking of Obama’s performance so far, Alkhateeb commented, “In terms of domestic policy, I don’t think he’s really doing much good for the country right now,” he said. “We don’t have to ‘hero worship’ the guy.”

He wrote: “Note: I am neither Democrat nor Republican, Conservative nor Liberal, didn’t support Obama or McCain. I just call it like I see it.”

Alkhateeb also responded to artist Shepard Fairey’s criticism of his Joker picture. Fairey worked with the Obama administration to create later versions of the Orwellian “HOPE” poster that Obama personally praised. After the Joker image received attention, Fairey said it lacked intelligence.

“He made a picture of Bush as a vampire,” Alkhateeb said about Fairey. “That’s kind of speaking with two faces.”

Alkhateeb’s identity and the reasons behind why he created the image firmly close the lid on the smear that the poster has racial overtones or is in any way “dangerous,” as liberal news outlets claimed.

Once again, the establishment’s attempt to play the race card in an effort to deflate burgeoning populist opposition to Obama’s political agenda has failed miserably.

Despite the best efforts of the corporate media to imply that any criticism whatsoever of Obama is racist – as MSNBC host Carlos Watson enunciated last week – the continued grass roots rebellion against Obamacare, the cap and trade scam, prolonging Bush’s wars, and the banker bailout will not be cowed by attempts to chill free speech by using the race card to intimidate people away from exercising their free speech.

Now you see folks. Cindy Sheehan woke up to the phony left-right paradigm. (Not completely) Wake up people. Obama lied to you. Deal with it. Patriots come from all walks of life. The Obama Joker posters are still spreading virally across the country and the world as the authorities panic at the power of the grass roots to reach the masses almost in an instant, flying in the face of an establishment media which is controlled by a handful of powerful corporations.

The success of the Obama Joker poster campaign, started anonymously in Los Angeles and amplified after it was incorporated into an Infowars contest, can be measured against the achievements of America’s foremost contemporary street artist,  Shepard Fairey, who was responsible for designing the Obama “HOPE” flyers that were posted in public places before the 2008 presidential election, an image labeled “the most efficacious American political illustration since ‘Uncle Sam Wants You’” by New Yorker art critic Peter Schjeldahl.

Fairey admitted that he was in contact with the Obama campaign team following the release of the early versions of his poster, and that they directed him in creating new posters. The original poster carried the word “PROGRESS,” but this was later changed to “HOPE” on the insistence of the Obama campaign, along with two other versions which read, “VOTE” and “CHANGE”.

President Obama himself later wrote to Fairey expressing his gratitude to the designer for putting out the images and also lending support for people who were posting them in public, an action which attracted little attention from the authorities, who on the contrary reacted hysterically to the anti-Obama Joker posters and immediately sought arrests and denounced the flyers as “vandalism,” characterizing them as some kind of assault on “victims” of a dastardly crime.

Fairey was largely dismissive of the Obama Joker poster, rather pedantically arguing that it wasn’t grammatically correct because the word should have been “socialist” not “socialism,” but he was forced to admit that the posters sent a powerful message.

“The artwork is great in that it gets a point across really quickly,” Fairey told the L.A. Times. “The Joker is a sinister, evil character that can’t be trusted. And if they want to make that parallel with Obama — bam.”

It took the best part of a decade for Fairey’s iconic  “Andre the Giant Has a Posse” street art to go viral, but in the Internet age, the Obama Joker image has already trumped it in a matter of weeks.

The flyers have already hit  Wall Street,  Tokyo Japan, Berlin Germany, and hundreds of towns and cities across America.

Attempts on behalf of authorities and the media to propagate the contrived hoax that the majority of people are “disgusted” by the image have been proven fraudulent by polls showing that most people support the first amendment rights of people to post the flyers.

Likewise, efforts to chill free speech and intimidate people from exercising their first amendment have merely been met with an intensified effort to post more and more of the Obama Joker posters.

Early claims that the poster had racist overtones were shot down when images were unearthed of George W. Bush depicted as the Joker, as well as a blood-sucking vampire. Lazy attempts to play the race card in an attempt to dismiss the grass roots power of the Obama as Joker meme failed completely.

Indeed, caricatures of political figures have been part of the fabric of American society for hundreds of years. Satirical lampooning of authority figures by means of stylized cartoonish parodies is an American tradition, and has nothing whatsoever to do with racism.

The success of the Obama Joker poster campaign, concurrent with Obama’s rapidly sinking popular approval figures, is proof that even in the face of a locked down corporate media owned by a handful of interests, the people can still communicate with the masses and obtain instant recognition by means of viral campaigns coordinated through the alternative media and the Internet.

Troops to play the role of panic stricken citizens pleading for inoculations

A High School in Maine is to be taken over by the National Guard today for the purposes of a drill that will see Guardsmen deal with unruly citizens begging for swine flu vaccines.

Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School in Paris, ME, has been chosen as a distribution site for the H1N1 flu vaccine by state officials.

Today’s drill will enact a riot scenario after Gov. John Baldacci and Gen. John Libby, adjutant general of the Maine National Guard, agreed that measures should be in place to deal with a possible public rush for inoculations against swine flu.

“On Thursday morning, four or five National Guard Humvees will travel from Augusta to Paris with vials of fake serum.” reports the Maine Sun Journal.

“The National Guardsmen will take on the roles of panicked citizens and military police and practice what they would do, such as using tear gas, in the case of a riot.” The article continues.

Local police will also liaise with the National Guard on the school grounds. The school itself will remain open, according to the report.

Center for Disease Control figures state that there are 323 confirmed cases of H1N1 in Maine. One man has died from the disease, though he was said to have “underlying health conditions” that were worsened by the flu.

This story dovetails with reports from late July indicating that the U.S. military is gearing up to get involved in the H1N1 swine flu outbreak promised to strike in the Fall.

“The U.S. military wants to establish regional teams of military personnel to assist civilian authorities in the event of a significant outbreak of the H1N1 virus this fall, according to Defense Department officials,” a proposal that is currently on the desk of Defense Secretary Robert Gates, according to a CNN report.

The report indicates that the troops could be drawn from either active duty forces or the National Guard and Reserve forces, or both.

“As a first step, Gates is being asked to sign a so-called ‘execution order’ that would authorize the military to begin to conduct the detailed planning to execute the proposed plan.” the report states.

Gates’ overtures to usurp control of the Guard in a national emergency, and even to eventually merge the Guard and the Army Reserves into the “Total Force” of the U.S. military, under management of the DoD, has riled state authorities.

Last week The National Governors Association wrote to the Pentagon condemning the military’s open plans to effectively seize domestic control of National Guard and federal forces deployed in the event of a disaster or terrorist attack.

The NGA noted that the military’s agenda amounted to a dilution of governors’ constitutional responsibilities.

In addition to these ongoing proposals, the Pentagon has announced that at least 20,000 more active duty soldiers will be placed inside the United States under Northcom to “help state and local officials respond to a nuclear terrorist attack or other domestic catastrophe.”

According to Northcom itself, the move also encompasses “civil unrest and crowd control”.

The ACLU has warned that the deployment represents an expansion in presidential and military authority and a militarization of homeland security.

This trend hasn’t gone unnoticed on Capitol Hill either. Georgia Congressman Paul Broun warned attendees of a town hall event Tuesday that the Obama administration is planning to use a pandemic or a natural disaster to implement martial law in the United States, in the wake of increased political unrest and plunging approval ratings.

The use of the National Guard for law enforcement duties and confrontation of the American people is becoming increasingly commonplace throughout the US.

National Guard troops were used to control the public during the Boston Marathon, the Kentucky Derby, and during New Year celebrations in Times Square last year.

As we reported last week, the sheriff of Alabama’s most populous county has announced he will probably have to bring in National Guard troops to perform law enforcement duties due to budget cuts.

Such a move has been replicated in other parts of the country, including in Schenectady New York, where budgetary constraints were not even cited as a reason for the changeover.

Back in April of this year, The Maryland National Guard was put on alert under an anti-terrorism program in anticipation of nationwide Tea Party protests. A “Force Protection advisory” document stated that Guardsmen and Guard facilities might become “targets of opportunity.”

One month earlier in March, the United States Army Reserve Command published a Force Protection Advisory recommending “situational awareness” and “mitigation measures” in response to End the Fed protests.

Other National Guard outfits have recently undergone training to engage in combat with “militia” groups, and held door to door gun confiscation drills.

Meanwhile, the Army National Guard is advertising for qualified personnel to work as Corrections Officers and Internment/Resettlement Specialists.

The use of military assets in civilian law enforcement is still illegal under Posse Comitatus, unless a clear state of emergency exists.

I was reading the Chron’s piece about Sheila Jackson Lee’s town hall, when something caught my eye:

One supporter, Dr. Roxana Mayer, a physician who does not live in Jackson Lee’s district, praised the reform plan for overhauling a broken system.

“I don’t know what there is in the bill that creates such panic,” she said.

I’m not sure why, but something didn’t smell right. So my colleagues and I did a little digging, and wouldn’t you know it? Roxana Mayer is, like, totally not a doctor.

But she is an Obama campaign volunteer.

Our own David Jennings secured a phone interview, in which Mayer admitted to impersonating a physician, saying — get this — she thought it would help her credibility. (It didn’t.)

Now here’s where it spins off into a whole new dimension of weird. See the bug-eyed woman seated behind not-doctor Mayer?

Look familiar?

Yes, that little ray of sunshine, who accompanied Mayer to the meeting, is none other than Maria Isabel, the unhinged moonbat who ran a Barack Obama campaign office, complete with Che Guevara flag.

Hell, she’s even wearing the exact same outfit she wore the last time we mocked her!

A word of advice to budding political operatives: when you need two plants, try to pick people smarter than actual plants.

Broun warns of “socialistic elite” and their plans for a dictatorship

Georgia Congressman Paul Broun warned attendees of a town hall event Tuesday that the Obama administration was planning to use a pandemic or a natural disaster to implement martial law in the United States.

Speaking at the North Georgia Technical College auditorium, Broun said that the “socialistic elite,” as well as Obama, Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, were planning to exploit a crisis to create a favorable climate for their stalling political agenda.

“They’re trying to develop an environment where they can take over,” he said. “We’ve seen that historically.”

Broun’s warning arrives on the back of a letter sent by The National Governors Association to the Pentagon last week, which condemns the military’s plans to usurp domestic control of National Guard and federal forces deployed in the event of a natural disaster or terrorist attack.

“Domestic emergency deployment may be “just the first example of a series of expansions in presidential and military authority,” or even an increase in domestic surveillance, warned Anna Christensen of the ACLU’s National Security Project. And Cato Vice President Gene Healy warned of “a creeping militarization” of homeland security.”

The contention that the troops will merely help “recovery efforts” after a major catastrophe is contradicted by the fact that Northcom itself, in a September 8 Army Times article, said the first wave of the deployment, which was put in place on October 1st at Fort Stewart and at Peterson Air Force Base in Colorado Springs, would be aimed at tackling “civil unrest and crowd control”.

Congressman Broun has been a thorn in the side of Obama’s agenda since day one, voting against the “cap and trade” bill and slamming the entire concept of man-made global warming as a “hoax”.

He also spoke out against Obama’s plan to create a “national civilian security force,” warning that the program sounded like a 21st century Gestapo and that it was part of a move towards a Marxist dictatorship.

“That’s exactly what Hitler did in Nazi Germany and it’s exactly what the Soviet Union did,” Broun said. “When he’s proposing to have a national security force that’s answering to him, that is as strong as the U.S. military, he’s showing me signs of being Marxist.”

Broun also cited the threat to the second amendment posed by the Obama administration and anti-gun Attorney General Eric Holder.

“We can’t be lulled into complacency,” Broun said. “You have to remember that Adolf Hitler was elected in a democratic Germany. I’m not comparing him to Adolf Hitler. What I’m saying is there is the potential of going down that road.”

MSNBC’s Keith Olbermann voted Broun his “worst person in the world” on two separate occasions and attacked the Congressman as a racist and a bigot for expressing worries about the porous border with Mexico in relation to the swine flu outbreak. Olbermann claimed that Broun had “exploited a dead baby” to make his “sick, xenophobic and utterly irrelevant case about immigration.”

In November 2008, Olbermann erroneously claimed that Obama had called for a “civilian reserve corps” and “federally funded construction workers” when he had actually announced a plan for a “national security force,” as this video shows. Olbermann attacked Broun for expressing concerns about the program.

In July 2008 on the campaign trail, Obama called for a “civilian national security force that’s just as powerful, just as strong, just as well funded,” as the U.S. military.

A new version of the Obama Joker poster featuring Michelle Obama has now started to appear around the country. This one was photgraphed on the Boston subway system.

How long before the media claim that this expression of the first amendment is “racist” despite the fact that George W. Bush was also portrayed as the Joker as well as a blood-sucking vampire?

For hundreds of years, satirical lampooning and cartoon characatures have been part of American political culture, yet all of a sudden the corporate media claims that it is a thought crime to diminish the God-like status of Obama, anointed upon him by the establishment despite polls showing his popular approval rating is sinking faster than Bush, while also implying that simply posting flyers in public is a criminal offense – despite the fact that Barack Obama himself encouraged his supporters to do the same thing - even blocking out stop signs in the process – during his campaign.

In the wake of a Florida news station covering the “vandalism” of Obama as Joker posters going up around the country, Infowars has discovered an Obama quote published in The Washington Post thanking Obamanoids for posting the artwork of Shepard Fairey on government property. Fairey created the now famous image of Obama used during the election.

“I would like to thank you for using your talent in support of my campaign,” Obama wrote the artist last year. “The political messages involved in your work have encouraged Americans to believe they can help change the status quo. Your images have a profound effect on people, whether seen in a gallery or on a stop sign.”

Obama’s praise for Fairey and the efforts of Obamanoids around the country appeared in the Post on May 18, 2008.

A stop sign, like the Post Office, is government property. “Posters depicting President Barack Obama as the Joker from the Batman movies have been glued on sign posts and traffic control boxes all over Clermont,” WESH, a television station in Orlando reports today. “The crude depiction of the president has upset many people, but Clermont police said at this point it is not considered a hate crime. Police do consider the posters a case of criminal mischief and have assigned some investigators to look into it.”

Earlier in the week, posters were glued on a mailbox outside a post office in Clermont, Florida. The postmaster told local media defacing a post office is a federal offense and he will have the postal inspector look into the incident.

A WFTV report aired today claims stapling the poster on utility poles is vandalism. The television station interviewed people demanding the posters be removed and the unknown poster arrested and punished.

Obviously, there is one rule for average Americans protesting the policies of Obama and another one for the mesmerized followers of presidential candidates selected by the elite.

The Drudge Report today posted an image of the Obama Joker poster taken from a YouTube video above an image of a swastika painted on a sign outside of the office of Rep. David Scott of Georgia, thus associating the posting of the Obama Joker image with a racist hate crime. The popular Drudge Report claims to be a “conservative” news website.

Prior to Alex Jones’ Obama as Joker video contest, the corporate media characterized the original street art Obama Joker poster that surfaced in Los Angeles as racist. “By using the ‘urban’ makeup of the Heath Ledger Joker, instead of the urbane makeup of the Jack Nicholson character, the poster connects Obama to something many of his detractors fear but can’t openly discuss. He is black and he is identified with the inner city, a source of political instability in the 1960s and ’70s, and a lingering bogeyman in political consciousness despite falling crime rates,” Phillip Kennicott wrote for The Washington Post.

The government shrewdly exploited this “bogeyman in political consciousness” motif when the Department of Homeland Security released the now infamous “Right-wing Extremism: Current Economic and Political Climate Fueling Resurgence in Radicalization and Recruitment” report earlier this year. “Many right-wing extremists are antagonistic toward the new presidential administration,” the report claims, and associates this antagonism to white supremacists. “The economic downturn and the election of the first African-American president present unique drivers for rightwing radicalization and recruitment.”

This proclaimed racist hatred of Obama was soon associated with the entire liberty and patriot movement by the government and the corporate media. In particular, the media and a handful of columnists hailing from the left side of the false right-left paradigm claimed Alex Jones is connected to the militia movement and white supremacists.

“Alex Jones, the conspiracy theorist in whom [the Pittsburgh cop killer Richard Poplawski] reportedly was interested, runs two websites, Infowars and Prison Planet, that specialize in a series of the kind of paranoid ideas that animated the militia movement of the 1990s,” Mark Potok of the Southern Poverty Law Center wrote on April 5, 2009.

The SPLC in essence created the talking points the supposed liberal media have since used to demonize Jones and other patriots.

On August 12, the SPLC expanded its attack on the liberty and patriot movement. In addition to attacking Jones, Larry Keller, writing for the SPLC, has attempted to demonize Stewart Rhodes and the Oath Keepers, a non-partisan association of currently serving military, reserves, National Guard, peace officers, and veterans who swore an oath to support and defend the Constitution. The SPLC has continued its shameful effort to connect Jones and now the Oath Keepers to the corporate media generated myth of a radical and violent militia movement said to be responsible for the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building.

As Paul Joseph Watson writes for Prison Planet today, there is no shortage of evidence revealing the government’s role in the OKC bombing. The government and the Southern Poverty Law Center created a false flag “militia” group to take the fall for the terrorist bombing.

It is no mistake the corporate media is now portraying the Obama as Joker poster as racist — it is part of the plan of attack to characterize opposition to Obama and the policies of his elite masters as racist, as previously sketched out in the DHS report and also the MIAC and Virginia Fusion Center reports.

For the government, the racist canard is the perfect spoiler because the country is awash in political correctness. A mere allegation of racism often serves as a death knell for politicians and political movements, especially with plenty of sensationalistic play by the corporate media.

In the days ahead, the corporate media generated argument swirling around the Obama as Joker poster will mutate from accusations of vandalism to outright racism. Alex Jones is the preferred target because the establishment considers him the leader of the liberty and patriot movements.

Agency compiled report based on random postings of a known disinfo website

A freedom of information act request has revealed that the Department of Homeland Security's now infamous "rightwing extremism" report, released in April, was not based on any reliable supporting evidence whatsoever.

According to the DHS, the report was compiled based purely on around 50 internet articles, the credibility of which is severely questionable.

The revelation comes from the group Americans for Limited Government (ALG), which bills itself as an "independent, nonpartisan political movement that fights for hardworking taxpayers against the special interests that continually push for big government nationwide."

The group filed it's FOIA request shortly after the release of the leaked security intelligence assessment which equated veterans and gun owners with violent terrorists.

The document, entitled Rightwing Extremism: Current Economic and Political Climate Fueling Resurgence in Radicalization and Recruitment (PDF link) characterized concerns about the economy, unemployment, the loss of U.S. sovereignty and the move towards global government as “rightwing extremist chatter on the Internet” which itself is defined as a potential tool for terrorists to network, build bombs, and send encrypted messages to each other.

It also listed those opposed to abortion or immigration as potential extremists, and cited groups that reject federal authority in favor of state or local authority as potential sources of hate crime.

ALG asked for all data, studies, reports and documents that had led the DHS to these conclusions.

The shocking response from the DHS indicates that it undertook no statistical analysis at all, failed to conduct any interviews with the groups it went on to demonize and complied the report based purely on a scattering of web posts from some extremely dubious sources.

"We expected to receive back some hard-core analysis, some data analysis, looking at crime statistics and current trends that would back up conclusions in the report," said Nathan Mehrens, a news contributor to Americans for Limited Government and a former Labor Department official.

"Instead what we got was a list of URLs to various Web sites, all kinds of news stories across the board," Mehrens told FOX News.

Amongst the 50 or so links provided by the DHS are news articles from the New York Times, Washington Post, LA Times and USA Today, along with a smattering of other media sources. These represent subjects including rising gun sales, the activity of minority white supremacist groups and speculation that economic woes will fuel more hate groups.

More noteworthy is the fact that the DHS also cites substantial material from both the Anti Defamation League (ADL) and the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC).

How disgusting it is then that when it was leaked, these two politicized and establishment funded groups that masquerade as "civil rights" organisations, immediately pounced on the DHS report and used it to justify their materials and agendas.

In the months that followed, they also returned to the report again and again to tie it in with incidents such as the tragic shooting at the Holocaust museum in Washington DC.

It is no coincidence that the SPLC was also cited as a research source in the equally inflammatory Missouri Information Analysis Center report, which characterized Ron Paul supporters as extremists.

The news also comes in the wake of another sustained effort on behalf of the establishment media and the Southern Poverty Law Center to float the talking point that militia groups and worried gun owners are growing in the United States and that this could portend a violent act of domestic terror.

Perhaps the most damning aspect of the revealed sources for the DHS "rightwinger" report, however, comes in the shape of 11 links to a website called "WhatDoesItMean", which is a well known source of disinformation among the blogging community.

The site acts as a dumping ground for legitimate news articles, but mixes them in with pure conjecture, unverified stories and plain lies on subjects as far reaching as extra-terrestrial aliens and imminent armageddon.

For the DHS to cite this website far more than any other in order to substantiate its accusations against veterans and other so called “rightwing extremists” is an absolute joke.

This pathetic list of links represents nothing more than a couple of hours of idle internet surfing and Google searches on behalf of the DHS. They have simply thrown together a series of barely related web posts in a ridiculous attempt to provide proof for their outrageous accusations where there is none.

A tenth grader could have complied a more compelling source list.

Here then we have proof definitive that this behemoth agency that was supposedly created to protect the United States from the ruthless terrorists hell bent on its destruction, spends its afternoons surfing the web, compiling useless lists of links in order to paint up everyday American citizens as extremist racist killers.

The Myth of the Grand Chessboard: Geopolitics and Imperial Folie de Grandeur

In the Road to 9/11 I summarized the dialectic of open societies: how from their energy they expand, leading to a higher level of more secretive corporations and agencies, which eventually weaken the home country through needless and crushing wars.[4] I am not alone in seeing America in the final stages of this process, which since the Renaissance has brought down Spain, the Netherlands, and Great Britain.

Much of what I wrote summarized the thoughts of writers before me like Paul Kennedy and Kevin Phillips. But there is one aspect of the curse of expansion that I underemphasized: how dominance creates megalomanic illusions of insuperable control, and how this illusion in turn is crystallized into a prevailing ideology of dominance. I am surprised that so few, heretofore, have pointed out that from a public point of view these ideologies are delusional, indeed perhaps insane. In this essay I will argue however that what looks demented from a public viewpoint makes sense from the narrower perspective of those profiting from the provision of private entrepreneurial violence and intelligence.

The ideology of dominance was expressed for British rulers by Sir Halford Mackinder in 1919: "Who rules East Europe commands the Heartland; Who rules the heartland commands the World Island; Who rules the World Island commands the World."[5] This sentence, though expressed after the power of Britain had already begun to decline, accurately articulated the anxieties of imperial planners who saw themselves playing "the Great Game," and who thus in 1809 sacrificed an entire British army of twelve thousand men in the wilderness of Afghanistan.

Expanded by Karl Haushofer and other Germans into the alleged "science" of geopolitics, this doctrine helped to inspire Hitler’s disastrous Drang nach Osten, which in short order terminated the millenary hopes of the Nazi Third Reich. One might have thought that by now the lessons of Napoleon and Hitler would have subdued all illusions that any single power could command the "World Island," let alone the world.

Kissinger for one appears to have learned this lesson, when he wrote that: "By geopolitical, I mean an approach that pays attention to the requirements of equilibrium."[6] But (largely because of his commitment to equilibrium in world order) Kissinger was swept aside by events in the mid-1970s, leading to the triumph of the global dominance mindset, as expressed by thinkers like Zbigniew Brzezinski.[7]

Brzezinski himself has recognized how his gratuitous machinations in Afghanistan in 1978-79 produced the responses of al Qaeda and jihadi terrorism. Asked in 1998 whether he regretted his adventurism, Brzezinski replied:

"Regret what? The secret operation was an excellent idea. It drew the Russians into the Afghan trap and you want me to regret it? On the day that the Soviets officially crossed the border, I wrote to President Carter, saying, in essence: 'We now have the opportunity of giving to the USSR its Vietnam War.'"

Nouvel Observateur: "And neither do you regret having supported Islamic fundamentalism, which has given arms and advice to future terrorists?"

Brzezinski: "What is more important in world history? The Taliban or the collapse of the Soviet empire? Some agitated Muslims or the liberation of Central Europe and the end of the Cold War?"

When he was asked whether Islamic fundamentalism represented a world menace, Brzezinski replied, "Nonsense!"[8]

In some ways, the post-Afghanistan Brzezinski has become more moderate in his expectations from U.S. power: he notably warned against the Gulf War in 1990 and also Vice-President Cheney’s agitations when in office for some kind of preemptive strike against Iran. But he has never retracted the Mackinderite rhetoric of his 1997 book The Grand Chessboard, which revives the illusion of "controlling" the Eurasian heartland:

For the first time ever, a non-Eurasian power has emerged not only as a key arbiter of Eurasian power relations but also as the world's paramount power. The defeat and collapse of the Soviet Union was the final step in the rapid ascendance of a Western Hemisphere power, the United States, as the sole and, indeed, the first truly global power." (p. xiii)

"For America, the chief geopolitical prize is Eurasia... Now a non-Eurasian power is preeminent in Eurasia - and America's global primacy is directly dependent on how long and how effectively its preponderance on the Eurasian continent is sustained." (p.30)

"To put it in a terminology that harkens back to the more brutal age of ancient empires, the three grand imperatives of imperial geostrategy are to prevent collusion and maintain security dependence among the vassals, to keep tributaries pliant and protected, and to keep the barbarians from coming together." (p.40)[9]

This kind of brash talk is not unique to Brzezinski. Its call for unilateral dominance echoed the 1992 draft DPG (Defense Planning Guidance) prepared for Defense Secretary Cheney by neocons Paul Wolfowitz and Lewis "Scooter" Libby: "We must maintain the mechanisms for deterring potential competitors from even aspiring to a larger regional or global role."[10] It is echoed both in the 2000 PNAC Study, "Rebuilding America’s Defenses," and the Bush-Cheney National Security Strategy of September 2002 (NSS 2002).[11] And it is epitomized by the megalomanic JCS strategic document Joint Vision 2020, "Full-spectrum dominance means the ability of U.S. forces, operating alone or with allies, to defeat any adversary and control any situation across the range of military operations."[12]

Such overblown rhetoric is out of touch with reality, dangerously delusional, and even arguably insane. It is however useful, even vital, to those corporations who have become accustomed to profiting from the Cold War, and who faced deep cuts in U.S. defense and intelligence spending in the first years after the collapse of the Soviet Union. They are joined by other groups (discussed below) that also have a stake in preserving the dominance mindset in Washington. These include the new purveyors of privatized military services, or what can be called entrepreneurial violence, in response to defense budget cuts.

The Real Grand Chessboard: Those Profiting from Enduring Violence

The delusional grandiosity of Brzezinski’s rhetoric is inherent above all in the false metaphor of his book title. "Vassals" are not chess pieces to be moved effortlessly by a single hand. They are human beings with minds of their own; and among humans an unjust excess of power is certain to provoke not only resentment but ultimately successful resistance. One can see this easily in Asia, from the evolution of anti-Americanism in Iran to the Hizb-ut-Tahrir (HT) in Central Asia: although still ostensibly nonviolent, HT’s rhetoric is now more and more aggressively anti-American.[13]

The notion of a single chess player is equally false, especially in Central Asia, where dominant states (the U.S., Russia, and China) and local states are all alike weak. Here major multinational corporations like BP and Exxon are major players. In countries like Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan they dwarf both local state power and also the U.S. governmental presence, whether official or covert. The true local powers are apt to be two which governments are notoriously inept at controlling: first, the "agitated Muslims" which Brzezinski insanely derided, and second, illicit trafficking, above all drug trafficking.[14]

Ultimately however Brzezinski is not constrained by his chess metaphor. The goal of a chess game is to win. Brzezinski’s goal is quite different: to exert permanent restraints on the power of China and above all Russia. He has thus sensibly opposed destabilizing moves like a western strike on Iran, while supporting the permanent containment of Russia with a ring of western bases and pipelines. (In 1995 Brzezinski flew to Azerbaijan and helped negotiate the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline linking Azerbaijan to Turkey.)[15]

As I have argued elsewhere, Brzezinski (though he no doubt thinks to himself in terms of strategy) thus promotes a policy that very much suits the needs of the oil industry and its backers. These last include his patrons the Rockefellers, who first launched him into national prominence.[16]

In March 2001 the biggest oil majors (Exxon Mobil, Chevron, Conoco, and Shell) had their opportunity to design the incoming administration’s energy strategies, including Middle East policy, by participating secretly in Vice-President Cheney's Energy Task Force.[17] The Task Force, we learned later, developed a map of Iraq’s oil fields, with the southwest divided into nine "Exploration Blocks." One month earlier a Bush National Security Council document had noted that Cheney’s Task force would consider "actions regarding the capture of new and existing oil and gas fields."[18] Earlier the oil companies had participated in a non-governmental task force calling for "an immediate policy review toward Iraq including military, energy, economic and political/diplomatic assessments."[19]

Of course, oil companies were not alone in pushing for military action against Iraq. After 9/11, Rumsfeld, Wolfowitz, and Douglas Feith established the Pentagon’s neocon Office of Special Plans (OSP), which soon "rivalled both the C.I.A. and the Pentagon’s own Defense Intelligence Agency, the D.I.A., as President Bush’s main source of intelligence regarding Iraq’s possible possession of weapons of mass destruction and connection with Al Qaeda."[20] Neocon influence in the Administration, supported by Lewis Libby in Vice-President Cheney’s office, trumped the skepticism of CIA and DIA: these two false charges against Saddam Hussein, or what one critic called "faith-based intelligence," became briefly the official ideology of the United States. Some, notably Dick Cheney, have never recanted.

Many journalists were eager to promote the OSP doctrines. Judith Miller of the New York Times wrote a series of articles on Saddam’s WMD, relying, like OSP itself, on the propaganda of Iraqi exile Ahmed Chalabi.[21] Miller’s book collaborator Laurie Mylroie went even further, arguing that "Saddam was not only behind the '93 Trade Center attack, but also every anti-American terrorist incident of the past decade, from the bombings of U.S. embassies in Kenya and Tanzania to the leveling of the federal building in Oklahoma City to September 11 itself."[22] Many of these advocates, notably Feith, Libby, and Mylroie, had links to Israel, which as much as any oil company had reasons to wish for U.S. armies to become established militarily in Central Asia.[23]

Private Military Contractors (PMCs), Whose Business is Violence for Profit

The inappropriateness of a military response to the threat of terrorism has been noted by a number of counterterrorism experts, such as retired U.S. Army colonel Andrew Bacevich:

the concept of global war as the response to violent Islamic radicalism is flawed. We ought not be in the business of invading and occupying other countries. That's not going to address the threat. It is, on the other hand, going to bankrupt the country and break the military.[24]

Because of budgetary constraints, America has resorted to uncontrollable subordinates to represent its public power in these remote places. I shall focus chiefly in this essay on one group of these, the so-called Private Military Contractors (PMCs) who are authorized to commit violence in the name of their employers. These corporations are reminiscent of the marauding condottieri or private mercenary armies contracted for by the wealthy city states of Renaissance Italy.[25]

With the hindsight of history, we can see the contribution of the notoriously capricious Condottieri to the violence they are supposedly hired to deal with. Some, when unemployed, became little more than predatory bandits. Others, like the celebrated Farinata whom Dante placed in the Inferno, turned against their native cities. Above all, the de facto power accumulated by the condottieri meant that, with the passage of time, they came to dictate terms to their ostensible employers.[26] (They were an early example of entrepreneurial violence, and the most common way of avoiding their path of destruction was "to buy reprieve by offering bribes."[27])

To offset the pressure on limited armed forces assets, Donald Rumsfeld escalated the increasing use of Private Military Contractors (PMCs) in the Iraq War. At one point as many as 100,000 personnel were employed by PMCs in the US Iraq occupation. Some of them were involved in controversial events there, such as the Iraq Abu Ghraib prison scandal, and the killing and burning of four contract employees in Fallujah. The license of the most controversial firm, Blackwater, was terminated by the Iraqi government in 2007, after eight Iraqi civilians were gratuitously killed in a firefight that followed a car bomb explosion.[28] (After much negative publicity, Blackwater renamed itself in 2009 as Xe Worldwide.)

Insufficiently noticed in the public furor over PMCs like Blackwater was the difference in motivation between them and the Pentagon. Whereas the stated goal of Rumsfeld and the armed forces in Iraq was to end violence there, the PMCs clearly had a financial stake in its continuation. Hence it is no surprise that some of the largest PMCs were also political supporters for pursuing the ill-conceived "War on Terror."

Blackwater was the most notorious example; Erik Prince, its founder and sole owner, is part of a family that figures among the major contributors to the Republican Party and other right-wing causes, such as the Council for National Policy. His sister once told the press that "my family is the largest single contributor of soft money to the national Republican Party."[29]

Private Intelligence Companies and the Provision of Violence

Blackwater has attracted the critical attention of the American Mainstream Media. But it was a mere knight on the grand chessboard, albeit one with the ability to influence the moves of the game. Far less noticed has been given to Diligence LLC. Diligence, a more powerful company, that unlike Blackwater interfaced heavily with Wall Street, "set up shop in Baghdad [in July 2003] to provide security for companies involved in Iraqi reconstruction. In December, it established a new subsidiary called Diligence Middle East, and expanded its services to include screening, vetting and training of local hires, and the provision of daily intelligence briefs for its corporate clients."[30]

Certainly the political clout of Diligence outshone and outlasted Blackwater’s. Two of its founding directors (Lanny Griffiths and Ed Rogers) were also founders of the influential Republican lobbying team Barbour Griffiths and Rogers (later renamed BGR). Haley Barbour, the senior founder of BGR, also served as Chairman of the Republican National Committee from 1993 to 1997.

Diligence LLC was licensed to do business in Iraq as a private military contractor (PMC). But it could be called a Private Intelligence Contractor (PIC), since it is virtually a CIA spin-off:

Diligence was founded by William Webster, the only man to head both the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Mike Baker, its chief executive officer, spent 14 years at the CIA as a covert field operations officer specializing in counter-terrorism and counter-insurgency operations. Whitley Bruner, its chief operating officer in Baghdad, was once the CIA station chief in Iraq.[31]

Its partner in Diligence Middle East (DME) is New Bridge Strategies, whose purpose has been described by the New York Times as "a consulting firm to advise companies that want to do business in Iraq, including those seeking pieces of taxpayer-financed reconstruction projects."[32] Its political clout was outlined in the Financial Times:

New Bridge was established in May [2003] and came to public attention because of the Republican heavyweights on its board – most linked to one or other Bush administration [officials] or to the family itself. Those include Joe Allbaugh, George W. Bush’s presidential campaign manager, and Ed Rogers and Lanny Griffith, former George H.W. Bush aides.[33]

The firm of Barbour, Griffith and Rogers was the initial funder of Diligence, which shares an office floor with BGR and New Bridge in a building four blocks from the White House. The Financial Times linked the success of New Bridge in securing contracts to their relationship to Neil Bush, the President’s brother.[34] When Mack McLarty, Clinton’s White House Chief of Staff, resigned, he became a director of Diligence, and also joined Henry Kissinger to head, until 2008, Kissinger McLarty Associates.

Another Private Intelligence Contractor or PIC is Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC), an $8 billion corporation involved in defense, intelligence community, and homeland security contracting. In the words of veteran journalists Donald Barlett and James Steele,

SAIC has displayed an uncanny ability to thrive in every conceivable political climate. It is the invisible hand behind a huge portion of the national-security state—the one sector of the government whose funds are limitless and whose continued growth is assured every time a politician utters the word "terrorism." SAIC represents, in other words, a private business that has become a form of permanent government….[SAIC] epitomizes something beyond Eisenhower's worst nightmare—the "military-industrial-counterterrorism complex."[35]

(Later their article made it clear that SAIC is not a unified bureaucracy, but more like a platform for individual entrepreneurship in obtaining contracts: "at SAIC your job fundamentally was to sell your high-tech ideas and blue-chip expertise to [any] government agency with money to spend and an impulse to buy.")[36]

Before becoming Secretary of Defense, Robert M. Gates was a member of SAIC's board of directors. SAIC personnel have also been recruited from CIA, NSA, and DARPA.

Scores of influential members of the national-security establishment clambered onto SAIC's payroll, among them John M. Deutch, undersecretary of energy under President Jimmy Carter and C.I.A. director under President Bill Clinton; Rear Admiral William F. Raborn, who headed development of the Polaris submarine; and Rear Admiral Bobby Ray Inman, who served variously as director of the National Security Agency, deputy director of the C.I.A., and vice director of the Defense Intelligence Agency.[37]

SAIC helped supply the faulty intelligence about Saddam’s WMD that then generated ample contracts for SAIC in Iraq.

SAIC personnel were instrumental in pressing the case that weapons of mass destruction existed in Iraq under Saddam Hussein, and that war was the only way to get rid of them. When no weapons of mass destruction were found, SAIC personnel staffed the commission set up to investigate how American intelligence could have been so disastrously wrong, including Gordon Oehler, the commission's deputy director for review, a 25-year CIA veteran, Jeffrey R. Cooper, vice president and chief science officer for one of SAIC's sub-units and Samuel Visner, a SAIC vice president for corporate development who had also passed through the revolving door and back to the NSA. David Kay, who later chaired the Iraq Survey Group (which showed that Hussein didn't possess WMD, thereby proving that the war was launched under false pretenses), is also an SAIC shareholder and former director of SAIC's Center for Counterterrorism Technology and Analysis.[38]

Needless to say, this SAIC-stuffed commission did not report that SAIC itself had been a big part of the problem. But according to Barlett and Steele, the same David Kay in 1998 told the Senate Armed Services Committee:

that Saddam Hussein "remains in power with weapons of mass destruction" and that "military action is needed." He warns that unless America acts now "we're going to find the world's greatest military with its hands tied."

Over the next four years, Kay and others associated with SAIC hammered away at the threat posed by Iraq. Wayne Downing, a retired general and a close associate of Ahmad Chalabi, proselytized hard for an invasion of Iraq, stating that the Iraqis "are ready to take the war … overseas. They would use whatever means they have to attack us." In many of his appearances on network and cable television leading up to the war, Downing was identified simply as a "military analyst." It would have been just as accurate to note that he was a member of SAIC's board of directors and a company stockholder….

9/11 was a personal tragedy for thousands of families and a national tragedy for all of America, but it served the interests of private intellience and military contractors including SAIC. In the aftermath of the attacks, the Bush administration launched its "Global War on Terror" (GWOT), whose chief consequence has been to channel money by the tens of billions into companies promising they could do something—anything—to help. SAIC was ready. Four years earlier, anticipating the next big source of government revenue, SAIC had established the Center for Counterterrorism Technology and Analysis. According to SAIC, the purpose of the new unit was to take "a comprehensive view of terrorist threats, including the full range of weapons of mass destruction, more traditional high explosives, and cyber-threats to the national infrastructure." In October of 2006 the company told would-be investors flatly that the war on terror would continue to be a lucrative growth industry.[39]

Barlett and Steele could have mentioned that SAIC senior analyst Fritz Ermarth, a long-time associate of Gates from his years in the CIA, is now an official of the Nixon Center. Commenting in 2003 on State Secretary Colin Powell’s briefing to the UN Security Council, Ermarth praised Powell for his charges (repeating one of Judith Miller’s false stories) about Saddam’s acquisition of aluminum tubing "for centrifuges and not rocketry." Ermarth faulted Powell however for not mentioning two matters: Iraqi involvement in the World Trade Center bombing of 1993 (a charge by Laurie Mylroie now generally discredited), and that "During the 1970s and 1980s…the USSR and its allies supported terrorists in Western Europe and in Turkey," (alluding to the false charges, promoted at the time by Robert Gates and Claire Sterling, about Mehmet Ali Agça’s attempted assassination of Pope Paul II).[40]

I certainly do not wish to suggest that SAIC single-handedly created the will to fight in Iraq. The combined efforts of defense contractors, oil companies, PMCs and PICs created a mindset in which all those eager for power were caught up, including, I have to say, career-minded academics. In Iraq as in Afghanistan and Vietnam a generation earlier, a sure ticket to consultations in Washington was support for interventions that ordinary people could see would be disastrous.

The yea-saying of academics has approved even the privatization of intelligence which we have just been describing. According to political scientist Anna Leander,

Private firms not only provide, but also analyse intelligence. Private translators, analysts and ‘interrogators’ are hired, as illustrated by the involvement of Titan and CACI in Abu Ghraib. Even more directly, private firms are hired in to assess threats and risks and suggest what to do about them. This involves constructing a security picture as done for example, by Diligence LLC and SAIC, two firms specialised in intelligence gathering and analysis….. This privatisation of intelligence has direct consequences for the relation between PMCs and security discourses. It places the firms in a position where they are directly involved in producing these discourses. They provide a growing share of the information that forms the basis of decisions on whether or not something is a security concern.

Leander concludes that this privatization is beneficial: it "empower[s] a more military understanding of security which, in turn, empowers PMCs as particularly legitimate security experts."[41]

Another political scientist, Chaim Kaufmann, has noted more critically that arguments for escalation and what he calls threat inflation against Iraq were not adequately disciplined by "the marketplace of ideas." He gives five reasons for this failure, duly supported by other political scientists. But the obvious reason mentioned by Barlett and Steele – profit – is not mentioned.[42]

What we have been talking about until now is advocacy disguised as expertise. But overseas associates of Diligence LLC and its allies have also been accused of false-flag operations intended to provoke war.

The passage of the Patriot Act generated a new realm of profit for SAIC contractors -- domestic surveillance of U.S. citizens – as well as new intelligence fusion centers to carry this out.  

“As part of the Pentagon’s domestic security mission, former Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld created the Counterintelligence Field Activity office in 2002 and filled its staff with contractors from Booz Allen, BAE systems, SAIC, and other suppliers of cleared personnel. CIFA, as we’ve seen, was used against people suspected of harboring ill will against the Bush administration and its policies….At present, there are forty-three current and planned fusion centers in the United States where data from intelligence agencies, the FBI, local police, private sector databases, and anonymous tipsters are combined and analyzed by counterterrorism analysts.... According to the Electronic Privacy Information Center, the project “inculcates the project “inculcates DHS with enormous domestic surveillance powers.”[43]

These fusion centers, “which combine the military, the FBI, state police, and others, have been internally promoted by the US Army as means to avoid restrictions preventing the military from spying on the domestic population.” [44] Responding to such criticisms, Department of Homeland Security Secretary Napolitano stated in March 2009 that the mandate of fusion centers was not to launch independent domestic surveillance operations but connect the dots between lawfully obtained information already in fragmented “siloed” databases.[45] She did not mention that some of this information was from private and even anonymous sources.

One SAIC contractor, Neoma Syke, worked at such a fusion center, wearing two hats:  

During 2003-2004, she was "working for SAIC" as a force protection analyst with "SAIC's" 205th Military Intelligence Battalion. And while she was "a contractor for SAIC", specifically, "SAIC's" 205th Military Intelligence Battalion, apparently she served as Counterintelligence Watch Officer at USARPAC's Crisis Action Center.[46]

Vanderbilt begins testing H1N1 vaccine

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Trials start Tuesday for the H1N1 flu vaccine at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

Recruitments from the Vanderbilt are some of the first in the nation to test the vaccine.

Vanderbilt is one of the 10 medical facilities testing the H1N1 flu vaccine.

Dr. Kathryn Edwards, who has studied vaccinations for years, is heading a study of the H1N1 vaccine at Vanderbilt.

"I think it means that we are really leaders in evaluating vaccines and it also means for that many years that the community, the Nashville community and middle Tennessee community, has stepped up to the plate," Edwards said.

The first trials at Vanderbilt are open to adults and will later be expanded to children.

Participants in the study will be paid.

Tennessee so far has 247 confirmed cases of the H1N1 flu virus, including one death.

The study, which will take place over the next few months, will determine how fast the vaccine can get to the general public.

Volunteers at some other testing sites have already received shots.

"I guess there's always sort of a risk with these sort of things, but, um, you know, I think that risk is minimal and the, um, it's far outweighed by the good that could be done by this kind of thing," said volunteer Alison Smith.

As many as 1,000 healthy adults and children nationwide will be a part of the H1N1 flu vaccine trial.

In an effort to protect the the saintly image of Barack Obama as his popularity plummets to new lows, the White House has ensured there will be no opposing voices to the Obamacare agenda when the President makes a town hall appearance in New Hampshire tomorrow.

The Secret Service will also be keeping a close eye on the throngs of protesters that are likely to gather outside.

However, the many liberal commentators who rightly slammed President George W. Bush for his numerous scripted town hall meetings are noticeably silent in their criticism of Obama’s similarly staged event.

“The White House controlled the distribution of the free tickets to get into the gym at Portsmouth High School. And the Secret Service will take care of any unruliness,” reports the Boston Globe today.

Helping the Secret Service to chill the free speech of Americans will be White House front groups such as HCAN, ACORN, MoveOn.org (a George Soros outfit), the National Council of La Raza, the eugenics front Planned Parenthood Federation of America, and the Clintonite John Podesta’s war-mongering Center for American Progress, who have organized “marshals,” less favorably described as “brownshirts” by some, whose job it will be to police protesters and stifle their freedom of speech.

As we reported on Friday, pro-Obamacare union thugs, who will also be in attendance in New Hampshire tomorrow, last week assaulted Kenneth Gladney, who was handing out Gadsen flags outside an event in in Mehville, Missouri that opponents of the health care bill were barred from entering. The fact that Gladney is a black man is a fitting rebuttal to claims that Obamacare protesters are motivated by racism.

The efforts on behalf of the White House and the Secret Service are designed to prevent a repeat of the raucous scenes of protesters speaking truth to power that have unfolded over the last two weeks across the country, actions labeled “Un-American” by Nancy Pelosi yet in reality as American as apple pie, baseball and George Washington.

“Barack Hussein Obama will be arriving in Portsmouth on Tuesday to hold a STAGED “Town Hall Meeting”, where he will essentially hand pick who the guests will be and what types of questions will be asked of him,” reads an advisory released by the New Hampshire Republican Volunteer Coalition. “A MASSIVE protest rally is being organized just outside of the facility where Obama will be holding his ‘Town Hall Meeting’ to promote his plan for a government takeover of your healthcare decisions.”

Beyond the sideshow of the partisanship divide, it’s interesting to note that liberals who were rightly up in arms over President Bush’s innumerable staged town hall events are in fact supporting measures to ensure Obama can preside over a similarly scripted meeting.

In February 2009, the Think Progress website, which is the media arm of the Center for American Progress, a left-wing think tank whose stated goal is focused around “driving the White House’s message and agenda” according to its own director Jennifer Palmieri, and who have been busy attempting to discredit the town hall protests, reported that Obama was ensuring a “clean break” from the era of George Bush, “who aggressively screened his audience members.”

Now that the Obama White House is screening its audience members, will Think Progress be as critical of him as they were of Bush for doing the same thing? Or will they just continue to peddle government talking points as part of their stated mission to ‘drive the White House’s message and agenda’?

The media created myth that the town hall protests raging across the country are artificially manufactured is starting to crack, as the public takes the press to task for parroting the erroneous talking point that the demonstrations are the work of lobbyists and Republican organizations, and that they are fostered by underlying racism.

A caller to C-Span’s Washington Journal show perfectly clarified the issues we have been highlighting all along, that the protesters are not just Republican “right-wingers,” they aren’t being prodded into action by lobbyists, and the anger is not just directed against Obamacare, but against the entire agenda, and especially against Congress passing legislation thousands of pages long without even reading it.

As we highlighted last week, ABC News reported that there was no evidence of lobbyists at the protests. Shortly after this, Obamanoids simply switched their talking point and started to claim that the demonstrations were all being organized by Republican organizations.

The C-Span caller who labeled herself an Independent stated that she only started going to protests as recently as July 4th and before that she wasn’t even political.

The caller points out that the protests are growing because, “All these massive bills, thousands of pages long that are passed with almost no debate, no time for us to see what’s in it,” and in complete contrast to promised of transparency on behalf of the new administration.

“When I watch the news people stand here and tell me that I am a member of a hired mob and that I’ve been called up by the Republican party….I’ve never been contacted by any organized group – this is an organic movement – when people stand there and lie to me about what I know is going on how can I trust them when they tell me it’s gonna save money?” she said, adding, “Yes people are getting angry, that doesn’t mean it’s fake, that means it’s real.”

The caller then took on attempts to discredit the protests by labeling them racist by pointing out that the only person to have been physically attacked during the demonstrations was a black man who was protesting against Obama. As we reported on Friday, pro-Obamacare supporters assaulted Kenneth Gladney, who was handing out Gadsen flags outside an event in in Mehville, Missouri that opponents of the health care bill were barred from entering.

Despite efforts to depict the protesters as extremist thugs and even Nazis, the real brownshirt tactics are being put into action by White House front groups such as HCAN, ACORN, MoveOn.org (a George Soros outfit), the National Council of La Raza, the eugenics front Planned Parenthood Federation of America, and the Clintonite John Podesta’s war-mongering Center for American Progress, who have organized “marshals” whose job it will be to police protesters and stifle their freedom of speech.

In addition, the government has called on people to inform on those critical of Obamacare via an online snitch form at the White House.gov website, creating an enemies list and enabling the Obama administration to pursue its political adversaries.

The infamous Holdren quotes from the 1977 ‘Ecoscience’ textbook, proposing forced sterilizations and other draconian measures to bring about mass death, are no incidental exercises in academic frivolity. In the 1973 publication ‘Human Ecology: Problems and Solutions’, co-authored by his old buddies, the Ehrlichs, Holdren wrote quite candidly about his basic view on human life, providing us with a peek at the decaying undergrowth out of which the Ecoscience document has emerged, proposing among other things a ‘planetary regime’ to assume command of matters of life and death.

In chapter 8 of the ‘Human Ecology’-document, page 235, Holdren gives us his definition of human life:

“The fetus“, Holdren writes, “given the opportunity to develop properly before birth, and given the essential early socializing experiences and sufficient nourishing food during the crucial early years after birth, will ultimately develop into a human being.”

In other words, Holdren argues that people during the early years after birth, cannot yet be defined as human beings. Given this presumption by Obama’s science advisor, it may not come as a surprise that he does not shy away from coercive abortion policies or other such measures to scale back the population. After all, if an infant cannot be construed as being a human being, as Holdren argues, God-given rights do not apply to them nor does constitutional protection- and therefore they can be deemed as completely at the government’s mercy.

Just like in Ecoscience, Holdren and the demonic duo, the Ehrlichs, present the case for involuntary fertility control in the Human Ecology monstrosity:

“Several coercive proposals deserve discussion mainly because societies may ultimately have to resort to them unless trends in birth rates are rapidly reversed by other means.”

Although the authors deem “compulsory control of family size” as being “unpalatable”, they nevertheless prefer it to other methods:

“(…) the alternatives may be much more horrifying. As those alternatives become clearer to an increasing number of people in the 1970s, we may well find them demanding such control. A far better choice, in our view, is to begin now with milder methods of influencing family size preferences, while ensuring that the means of birth control, including abortion and sterilization, are accessible to every human being on Earth within the shortest possible time. If effective action is taken promptly perhaps the need for involuntary or repressive measures can be averted.”

One has to wear ear pads the size of Texas Choice grapefruits to miss the threatening implications of these words. Just as Holdren’s comments have not been penned down in a vacuum, Holdren himself does not stand alone in his chilling stance. There is an entire subgroup within the scientific community consisting of a neo-Malthusian cast of characters, filling all kinds of official functions in public and private life. But when one of these demons (with a rap sheet listing numerous examples of an abject disregard for human life) occupies a key position within the government there should be some consequence- preferably a dethronement followed by an unequivocal denouncement on the part of the President.

Out of which sublevel place do these rats come crawling up onto the surface of respectability? The answer: a very unwholesome place indeed, with a lineage that can be traced straight back to the Rockefeller-funded eugenics and- family planning apparatus, set in motion many decades before. The fact that the writings of John P. Holdren and company haven’t generated the massive outrage they deserve is an outrage in its own right. Taking into account that the author is Obama’s chief science advisor, serious thought should be given to legal steps against Mr. Holdren- effectively resulting in the removal of this individual from his current position and exposing the neo-Malthusian tendency to worm their way into both the scientific and political establishments.

The effort to discredit and shut down opposition to Obamacare has gone from Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid holding up artificial turf and House Majority Leader Nancy Pelosi calling opponents Nazis to violence. During a demonstration Thursday evening outside a forum on aging called by U.S. Rep. Russ Carnahan, D-St. Louis, in Mehville, Missouri, a patriot was viciously attacked by union thugs.

“Health care reform opponents felt cheated after being locked out of the town hall,” writes Ryan Witt for the Examiner. “Some believed that SEIU (Service Employees International Union) members were being let in instead of them… From my personal observation the Carnahan office was allowing people who had RSVP’d beforehand to go in ahead of others.”

The Democrat Carnahan packed the event and attempted to prevent the opposition from attending. As the video below reveals, ACORN activists also received preferential treatment at the stage-managed event:

The St. Louis Dispatch reports people opposed to Obamacare “were kept out because of the turnout,” an assertion at odds with the above video. “The back and forth between factions within the crowd created a carnival-like atmosphere inside and out between members of the movement opposing President Barack Obama’s policies and groups who came to show support for the president’s proposals.”

In a prepared statement after the event, Carnahan characterized the opposition as “disrupters” and said they were “mobilized” by “special interests in Washington who have lined their pockets by overcharging Americans for a broken health care system.”

Union thugs viciously attacked a patriot, Kenneth Gladney, who was handing out Gadsen flags outside the stage-managed event. The St. Louis Tea Party was also demonstrating against Democrats attempting to force Obamacare through Congress.

As the video below documents, the “disrupters” were pro-Obamacare supporters, not Gladney or the St. Louis Tea Party.

“Kenneth was attacked on the evening of August 6, 2009 at Rep. Russ Carnahan’s town hall meeting in South St. Louis County,” writes Gladney’s attorney, David B. Brown, in an email sent to Infowars. “Kenneth was approached by an SEIU representative as Kenneth was handing out ‘Don’t Tread on Me’ flags to other conservatives. The SEIU representative demanded to know why a black man was handing out these flags. The SEIU member used a racial slur against Kenneth, then punched him in the face. Kenneth fell to the ground. Another SEIU member yelled racial epithets at Kenneth as he kicked him in the head and back. Kenneth was also brutally attacked by one other male SEIU member and an unidentified woman. The three men were clearly SEIU members, as they were wearing T-shirts with the SEIU logo.”

“Kenneth supports conservative ideals, although he subscribes to no particular political party,” Brown continues. “We are calling on the SEIU, Representative Carnahan, and President Obama to condemn the racist actions of these union thugs. In the days to come, we will be investigating whether these thugs are working at the behest of Representative Carnahan and how strong their alliances to various organizations — such as ACORN — may be… We hope the St. Louis Tea Party and tea party organizations around the country will protest Representative Carnahan’s offices and also protest SEIU offices in every major city across the U.S. These Democratic strong-arm tactics must end now.”

Brown characterizes the attack on Gladney, who was hospitalized with multiple injuries, as “a truly senseless hate crime.” According to Democrats, however, the hate criminals and “astroturfers” are citizens opposed to Obama’s plan to hijack health care and force all Americans into a mandatory government program at gunpoint.

An organization supported by Obama, Biden and 190 members of Congress, Health Care for America Now, instructs Democrats to confiscate signs and leaflets brought to Obamacare events by “rightwing extremists,” that is to say Americans opposed to totalitarian health care.

“The best way to do this is to make a blanket rule that no one can bring signs or leaflets and to advertise this fact as you do turn out in the weeks preceding the event. You can distribute your own signs in the event and offer them one as they enter if you choose to allow them to enter,” the HCAN website instructs.

HCAN is supported by the usual suspects, including ACORN, unions, MoveOn.org (a George Soros outfit), the National Council of La Raza, the eugenics front Planned Parenthood Federation of America, and the Clintonite John Podesta’s war-mongering Center for American Progress.

HCAN will organize brownshirt thugs — called “marshals” — to patrol crowds with local police assistance to make sure no opposition can be voiced. “Make sure that you assign marshals to take care of moving the crowd, keeping people organized and orderly, and acting as security should any need arise to ask noisy or disruptive protesters to leave. If you have cause to think that you will need more back-up, notify the police ahead of time.”

The corporate media should also be tightly controlled, according to the organization. “It’s important that you take away right-wingers opportunities to talk with reporters by making sure that your staff or leaders are in constant contact with the media who attend. You should set up a special table or area for the press to sit during the event and that area should be close t the stage and away from any areas of the venue where protesters may gather. Also make sure you have materials ready for the reporters so that they know the purpose and message of the event,” the website explains.

HCAN claims Democrats and Obamanoids “are getting beaten up by right wing zealots in these meetings.” In fact, as Infowars documented earlier today, the exact opposite is the case — union thugs attacked a patriot outside of St. Louis yesterday and put him in the hospital. Police arrested anti-Obamacare demonstrators and even media covering the demonstrations.

HCAN also suggests Democrats get with members of Congress to shut down free speech and control the opposition. “One advantage to organizing your own Town Hall or public event with Members of Congress is that you will have much more control over the event and limit the other side’s opportunities for disruption.”

Earlier this week, Infowars reported on Obama’s plan to organize informer-citizens to turn in their neighbors and others who oppose Obamacare. “Since we can’t keep track of all of [the "rightwing" opponents] here at the White House, we’re asking for your help. If you get an email or see something on the web about health insurance reform that seems fishy, send it to flag@whitehouse.gov,” writes Macon Phillips, the White House Director of New Media, in a post on the White House website.

Use of device as torture tool in practice of pain compliance highlighted once again

Yet another video has emerged of cops tasering someone for sitting in the wrong seat at a sports event. The victim this time was an old man attending an Oakland Athletics baseball game in Oakland California.

The man tased by cops was 62-year-old Thomas Bruso, who apparently was sitting in the wrong seat and was drinking alcohol. Police claimed that the man was not “complying” with attempts to arrest him so the crowd was cleared and he was tasered from behind.

Another man is seen being pushed down the stairs as the situation escalates.

“While the man is clearly uncooperative and perhaps belligerent, it is unclear why a shot of 50,000 volts was needed,” comments Constitutional lawyer Jonathan Turley.

As the incident unfolded an observer in the crowd commented, “C’mon, take it easy on him….I can’t believe you guys tased him.”

“This individual is not a small person,” said Ofc. Jeff Thomason. “He is 6-foot-1, 280 pounds, so getting in a fight with an individual like this is not in the officer’s best interest.”

However, as the video shows, the cops attempted to arrest the man for barely a minute before resorting to using the taser. The man was resisting arrest but he was not in a “fight” with the cops as Thomason implies.

This is not the first time that police have deployed a taser on someone for sitting in the wrong seat at a sports event.

In a far more disturbing case last year, Wisconsin police were caught on camera tasering a 54-year-old woman at a football game in Madison.

Margaret Hiebing, a veteran Badger season ticket holder, was ejected from the Camp Randall stadium during the Oct. 11 game against Penn State after she was found sitting in the wrong seat, reported WKOW 27 News.

Hiebing had taken a different seat because someone else had occupied her usual place at the packed game.

When police approached Mrs Hiebing she explained the situation and refused to leave. Onlookers began to berate the cops after one of them reportedly threatened Hiebing with pepper spray.

One witness filmed the altercation on a cell phone, evidence which would later dispel initial police claims that Hiebing was causing an obstruction by sitting in the aisle. Police then forced Hiebing face down on the ground and tased her on the back of the leg, confining her to a wheelchair because she was unable to walk out of the stadium.

Both these cases, and hundreds more that have occurred down the years, illustrate that the taser, far from being a cop’s last line of defense against a dangerous individual, is being used as a torture device for the purposes of pain compliance – merely forcing the victim to submit to the officer’s demands whether they pose a physical threat to the cop or not.

Michael Shaw, over at Huffington Post, does not seem to understand the Obama-as-Joker poster. “Regarding the image specifically, I’m interested in your read, particularly Obama in chalky white face. Besides the allusion to the President as a psychopath and more insidiously, a man behind a mask, does the chalk exploit race by suggesting the man is playing at being white? What I’m also concerned about, aside from the psycho-Joker reference, is the association to violence (emphasized by the gang tags in the background), Obama with the bloody mouth and, particularly, a couple of black eyes,” muses Shaw.

Liberals far and wide are like Chatty Cathy dolls when it comes to either criticizing or parodying Obama — they uniformly assert racism is at work. Of course, one of the reasons our rulers selected Obama is because they want to disarm all criticism by playing the race card. In our politically correct and brainwashed society, any allusion to racism immediately destroys an argument — no matter how reasoned or logical.

The white face — and clowns usually hide their faces under white makeup (it is called “clown white”) — has nothing to do with an attempt to portray Obama as a white person. It’s about Obama as the Joker, and not necessarily the Joker played by the late Heath Ledger.

Bob Kane’s original comic book Joker is a master criminal and a bizarre psychopath. Obama is not necessarily a psychopath — that is to say a ruthless hands-on serial killer — but by the standard of his office he is a master criminal, or rather a front man for a cartel of master criminals.

In 2009, the office of the president is nothing if not a wholly owned subsidiary of the international bankers. In fact the whole of Congress is owned by the banksters and their corporate minions, a fact the liberals consistently miss or are incapable of understanding mostly because many of them are beholden to foundations established by the same bankster elite.

Shaw is also perturbed by the reference to violence in the Joker poster. It is of course incomprehensible for most liberals to believe Obama represents the most violent and sadistic force in the world — the United States government long ago taken over by the aforementioned bankster cartel or mafia. Three million dead Vietnamese, one million plus dead Iraqis, an undetermined number of Afghans and assorted others either directly slaughtered by the U.S. war machine or its numerous proxies should be evidence enough. So should the penchant for torture and economic warfare, the latter waged against literally billions of people, including the kool-aid drinking liberals. Obama is the current and transitional face of this high-tech murder and economic violence machine.

Liberals never learn. Back in the day when the supposed liberal Bill Clinton held office they looked the other way when he attacked the former Yugoslavia and butchered thousands of Serbs under the sickly guise of humanitarianism. Liberals even devised arguments in favor of Clinton’s slow motion war against the people of Iraq and the engineered murder of 500,000 or more Iraqi children under the brutal sanctions regime imposed by the United Nations, a globalist organization liberals generally support.

Of course, so-called conservatives are no better. They supported the same murderous behavior on the part of Bush and crew. It is sour grapes at work now that the obverse side of the New World Order is in the saddle. It is a parlor trick and the conservatives buy into it with the same mindless zeal as the liberals.

The basic problem with the Obama as Joker poster is that its message is lost on those who believe the government is basically good and all it takes to turn things around (things accomplished by that monster Bush) is that we elect the right man to the office of president. It is intellectual laziness that prevents most people from reading the true message.

Finally, the word “socialism” dilutes the message. Obama is not a socialist. He does not believe in worker ownership and administration of the means of production and distribution of goods, and a society characterized by equal access to resources for all individuals with a more egalitarian method of compensation, that is to say the textbook definition of socialism. Obama is a front man for a cartel of fascists and monopoly men — and determined eugenicists.

“If one understands that socialism is not a share-the-wealth program, but is in reality a method to consolidate and control the wealth, then the seeming paradox of super-rich men promoting socialism becomes no paradox at all. Instead, it becomes logical, even the perfect tool of power-seeking megalomaniacs,” explained the late Gary Allen. “Communism or more accurately, socialism, is not a movement of the downtrodden masses, but of the economic elite.”

WeTip program offers cash rewards for anonymous tips about guns, child abuse and suspicious behavior

A privately-run informant program operating nationwide encourages Americans to anonymously turn each other in to the authorities for cash rewards in a chilling echo of the Nazi “denunciations” of 1930’s Germany, where neighbors would grass their neighbors up to the local Gestapo officer over petty issues.

The WeTip organization takes anonymous tips online or via toll free phone lines and carries the creepy slogan “For A Safer America!” on its website beneath an image of a U.S. flag.

The group forwards tips given by the public to law enforcement authorities across the country, with no jurisdictional borders.

An Orwellian poster being plastered up across American towns and cities as part of a campaign run by the organization reads, “ILLEGAL ACTIVITY IS NOT TOLERATED” and advises citizens to “turn them in” and receive a reward of up to $1000. Things to “turn them in” for include drug dealing and theft, but more vague examples such as “threats and intimidation” as well as “weapons” and “gang activity” are listed, as is “child abuse”.

Is the presence of a “weapon” in and of itself evidence of a crime in a country where citizens have the legal right to own firearms? Will your neighbor be turning you in if he sees you loading your car with a rifle on your way to the shooting range? What about “child abuse”? Will your friendly local spy be informing the authorities when he sees you disciplining your child?

What else constitutes suspicious activity? According to law enforcement and Homeland Security guidelines, suspicious behavior includes owning guns, being politically active, and having bumper stickers on your car.

The WeTip organization also offers a training institute for schools, businesses and government employees, presumably providing skills courses on how to become an expert domestic spy, just like in Communist East Germany.

WeTip also claims in its promotional material that it has been endorsed by both Bush presidents, as well as Bill Clinton and California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Deliciously ironic therefore it is that Arnie starred in the 1987 movie The Running Man, a futuristic portrayal of a wacky dictatorship where citizens are reminded by huge TV screens placed on street corners that they can “earn a double bonus for reporting on a family member!”

As America sinks into a military police state, it begins to parallel more and more aspects of Nazi Germany, especially in the context of citizens being turned against each other, which in turn creates a climate of fear and the constraining sense that one is always being watched.

One common misconception about Nazi Germany was that the police state was solely a creation of the authorities and that the citizens were merely victims. On the contrary, Gestapo files show that 80% of all Gestapo investigations were started in response to information provided by denunciations by “ordinary” Germans.

“There were relatively few secret police, and most were just processing the information coming in. I had found a shocking fact. It wasn’t the secret police who were doing this wide-scale surveillance and hiding on every street corner. It was the ordinary German people who were informing on their neighbors,” wrote Robert Gellately of Florida State University.

Gellately discovered that the people who informed on their neighbors were motivated primarily by banal factors – “greed, jealousy, and petty differences,” and not by a genuine concern about crime or insecurity.

Gellately “found cases of partners in business turning in associates to gain full ownership; jealous boyfriends informing on rival suitors; neighbors betraying entire families who chronically left shared bathrooms unclean or who occupied desirable apartments.”

“And then there were those who informed because for the first time in their lives someone in authority would listen to them and value what they said.”

Gellately emphasizes the fact that the Germans who sicked the authorities on their neighbors knew very well what the consequences for the victims would be – families torn apart, torture and internment in concentration camps, and ultimately in many cases death – but they still did it with few qualms because the rewards of financial bounties and mere convenience were deemed more important to them.

As we have covered before, the WeTip program is by no means the only initiative that is training Americans to become amateur domestic spies.

One of the largest cable TV companies in the United States, Bright House, is training its employees to look for suspicious behavior and report it to police under the guise of a neighborhood watch initiative called Operation Bright Eyes.

The legacy of training Americans to spy on each other in the name of “safety” has its origins in Operation TIPS, which was supposedly nixed by Congress, a DOJ, FBI, DHS and FEMA coordinated program that would have recruited one in twenty-four Americans as domestic informants, a higher percentage than was used by the Stasi in Communist East Germany.

Government funding was cut after an outcry but private funding continues and the same program was introduced under a number of sub-divisions including AmeriCorps, SecureCorps and the Highway Watch program.

In July last year we reported on how hundreds of police, firefighters, paramedics and utility workers have been trained and recently dispatched as “Terrorism Liaison Officers” in Colorado, Arizona and California to watch for “suspicious activity” which is later fed into a secret government database.

Also last year, a New York Times feature article heartily celebrated the fact that an increasing number of Americans are becoming informants and turning in their neighbors and family members to the authorities in return for cash rewards. In a piece about a new program run by Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers, citing gas prices, foreclosure rates and runaway food price inflation, The Times lauds the fact that citizens are reporting on each other, ensuring “a substantial increase in Crime Stopper-related arrests and recovered property, as callers turn in neighbors, grandchildren or former boyfriends in exchange for a little cash.”

As the Recession Ready America blog points out in relation to the WeTip program and its offer of $1,000 for turning people in, in an environment of recession and unemployment, the temptation to inform on people for minor indiscretions would be too tempting for many to resist, creating a gargantuan backlog of petty offences reported by people with no criminal detective skills whatsoever, leading to harassment of innocent people and ensuring that more real crimes go unsolved.

Six months since taking the reins, the Barack Obama administration has met its primary objective. It has swiftly ramped up the murderous imperial agenda inherited from Bush-Cheney while the masses, pacified and deceived by the appeal of the Obama image, pay no attention to realities.

No attention to the fact that the Obama administration’s global war strategy, which puts Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Latin America, and other regions into new military-intelligence crosshairs, promises the expansion of global instability, resource conquest, and “war on terrorism” ruin.

No attention to the fact the Obama administration is loaded with elites who are as dangerous and corrupt as those of the preceding administration.

No attention to the fact that nothing has “changed” except that there is a  “rock star” figurehead sitting in the Oval Office who is smart and not stupid; calculating rather than blatant.

The destabilization of Iran, a product of massive US covert operations (and overt political manipulation) continues unabated, built upon the pretext of “restoring democracy”—a  “stolen election” hoax, and an aggressive “color revolution” spearheaded by Anglo-American surrogates, aspiring puppets, and hordes of intelligence assets and so-called “liberals” touting “democracy”. The Iranian corridor remains critical, for the control of Central Asian and Middle East energy, and the Anglo-American empire is intent upon controlling it.

A blatant coup in Honduras has been carried out in the classic fashion, according to the same intelligence playbook that has been at the core of US-Latin America policy since the Iran-Contra era; the same destabilization tactics used in recent years to topple the governments of Venezuela and Haiti.

Domestically, Obama has endorsed the continued surveillance of the American people, and an even more ironclad electronic police state. While the average American is distracted by the pipe dream of believing that its corporate-controlled government will reform health care, the larger world health care system is being militarized, upon the pretext of a conveniently unstoppable swine flu pandemic.

The massive economic meltdown crisis begun under the orchestration of Bush-Cheney economic “gurus” such as Wall Street insider Henry Paulson continues under the management of Obama’s gang of Wall Street insiders, led by Timothy Geithner. Cooked books and false profit reports have sparked new Ponzi stock market rallies, and new pronouncements that the “worst financial crisis since the Great Depression” is about to end, just a few months later. Meanwhile, the Federal Reserve continues to funnel trillions in taxpayer TARP funds to banks (not to lend), and ordinary people continue to suffer massive unemployment and misery.

Tellingly, Obama continues to refuse to support the prosecution of any members of the Bush-Cheney administration for its eight years of blatant law-breaking. In fact, Obama has promised to protect Dick Cheney, despite the fact that the former Vice President oversaw assassins and saboteurs.

Obama clearly understands his true role. It is to mask the agenda of the world order with iconic appeal that is so powerful, that the masses willingly support, and even militantly advocate their own destruction.

Democrat claims that spontaneous protests are manufactured disproved again as more citizens express anger at totalitarian Obama health bill

Attempts on behalf of government media fronts to quell spontaneous riots breaking out at town hall meetings amidst anger about Obama’s health care bill by claiming they are manufactured was disproved once again, as ABC News reported that no lobbyists were present at a meeting in Maryland on Tuesday night.

As we reported earlier this week, the George Soros funded Think Progress blog, which is the Internet arm of the Center for American Progress, and has bestowed upon itself the duty of “driving the White House’s message and agenda,” according to its own director Jennifer Palmieri, was at the forefront of attempts to claim that the spontaneous town hall protests were manufactured by lobbyist groups. This talking point has been parroted by other establishment liberal news outlets in an attempt to divide the issue down partisan lines.

As numerous callers who were at the meetings attested to on the Alex Jones Show, the protests were completely organic and were not prompted by lobbyists at all. People showing up at town hall meetings and opposing Obamacare are citizens — not insurance industry operatives or specifically Republicans — who understand very well what the plan means: a totalitarian health care system of medical rationing operated by the government.

Indeed, the event in South Austin at which Democrat Rep. Lloyd Doggett was heckled and hounded by the crowd, was attended largely by Democrats because only registered Democrats received mailings about the event.

Now ABC News reports that at a similar event in Eastern Maryland attended by Rep. Frank Kratovil, during which the crowd vented their anger and frustration about how the health care bill was an assault on their liberty, there was no evidence that the protests were manufactured by lobbyists.

“There were no lobbyist-funded buses in the parking lot of Mardela Middle and High School on Tuesday evening, and the hundreds of Eastern Maryland residents who packed the school’s auditorium loudly refuted the notion that their anger over the Democrats’ health care reform plans is “manufactured,” reports ABC’s Steven Portnoy.

“I went to school in this school,” a man named Bob told me. “I don’t see anyone in this room that isn’t from Mardela Springs right now.”

“We’ve been quiet too long,” said a woman named Joan.

Kratovil came under fire from the audience because of his “undecided” stance on the health care bill, and the crowd soon made their feelings known, with one man shouting, “Our freedom is being taken from us!”

Others yelled, “you don’t get it!,” “you’re deceiving us!”, while another shouted “This bill is un-American.”

Similar scenes are unfolding across the country, including in Worcester Massachusetts, where Reps. James P. McGovern and Richard E. Neal were heckled and booed by the audience after expressing support for Obama’s health care agenda.

Meanwhile in Little Rock Arkansas, U.S. Rep. Mike Ross fellow Democratic Rep. Vic Snyder sat with their head in their hands as a crowd heckled and booed them for refusing to oppose the bill.

Government media fronts like Think Progress and others have attempted to portray the dissenters as a minority of the crowd in every instance, yet the Associated Press reported that “much of the crowd opposed Obama’s plan” in Little Rock.

As all the pushing and shoving over universal health care coverage moves into high gear, one thing remains indisputable. If Americans were healthy the costs of insuring them would be a whole lot less, and coverage could easily be provided for all without breaking a sweat. Healthy people have no need to visit doctors or take expensive medicals tests. They don`t even need checkups or perceived authority figures to tell them what they already know. Unfortunately, most Americans are currently nowhere near a state of vibrant health. This is partly their fault in failing to take responsibility for keeping themselves healthy. But the greater fault lies in the fact that Americans have been victims of an ongoing undeclared war by their government and corporate leaders who have conspired to keep them in a state of disease. To achieve vibrant health for everyone, we as a people must be willing to take responsibility for ourselves and realize we have helped create the world in which we live by silently going along with such a war. To do this requires much courage and change. Here are some starting points:

Restore the quality of food

Hippocrates made the need for high quality food quite clear when he said “Let thy food be thy medicine and thy medicine be thy food.” He realized that health rests in the hands of nutrition, and that all the medicine anyone could ever need is contained in food. However, Hippocrates never envisioned the factory farms of today that produce nutritionally depleted food grown in starved soils under farming methods that are an insult to the earth. He had no knowledge of pesticides and genetically modified seeds. It is no coincidence that our modern health crisis parallels the disappearance of clean nutritious foods.

When Americans ate a diet consisting primarily of unprocessed whole foods produced on family farms, the disease rates were a fraction of what is seen today, and health care costs were much less. We have allowed our right to eat healthy food to be stolen from us by greedy people. It`s time to use our dollars to take back this right. By buying only high quality whole foods grown organically on local small farms or in our backyards, we are saying no to the corporations that want to exploit us. When we do this we are also sending a powerful message to our families and friends that says health comes first. The more that people have to sacrifice to afford high quality food, the louder is their message.

Geoffrey Canada, currently working wonders in the Harlem Children`s Zone, realizes the importance of nutrition in raising healthy children and the importance of making it a priority even in families living at the poverty level. He is shown in the current CNN special Black in America Part 2 going door to door in his school`s community, seeing bags of junk food and fast food wrappers and asking the parents where are the apples and bananas. Canada understands that it is up to each person to try to shape the world in which he lives rather than blindly accepting life as it is defined by others.

Make health promoting food available for everyone

To have a healthy nation, access to nutritious food including fruits and vegetables must be available for everyone. This means all people working for a living in the U.S. must be paid salaries that allow them to afford health promoting foods. All jobs are important to the running of an organization, otherwise they wouldn`t exist. The person who cleans the toilets deserves to be paid a livable wage. Certainly education and talent should be rewarded, but not to a degree that makes it necessary for other workers to make ends meet by feeding their families low quality processed food.

The real median household income level in the United States for the year 2007 was $50,233. Compare this figure with the approximately $15,080 annual income for a family with a single wage earner working a full time job paid at minimum wage. This is likely to be the family that frequently eats cheap processed carbohydrates with little or no nutritional value because it is all they can afford. No matter how highly they place health on their priority list, this family does not have ready access to nutritious foods including fruits and vegetables. Provide a safe water supply

Having access to clean and safe water is a basic human right. This means water that is not contaminated with fluoride. It is widely known that fluoride has the greatest affect on fetuses, infants and children because it is a neurotoxin that compromises the developing brain. Fluoride has long been implicated in bone cancer, and there are new findings that show fluoride may lead to debilitating skeletal fluorosis. http://www.naturalnews.com/...

As much as 90 percent of the fluoride added to drinking water is in the form of hydrofluoric acid, a compound of fluorine that is a chemical byproduct of of aluminum, steel, cement, phosphate, and nuclear weapons manufacturing. Fluoride is the active toxin in several rat poisons. It is carcinogenic industrial waste claiming to be a health product, and it is being foisted on an unsuspecting public. In reality, all the benefit from fluoride goes to the manufacturers while the public is left holding the bag for its impact on healthcare costs.

Right now there are over 1750 professionals from the medical, scientific and environmental communities calling for an end to water treatment with fluoride, but their call is falling on deaf governmental ears. If we are to be a nation of healthy individuals, the drinking water that comes from our faucets and the water we bath ourselves and our children in must be free of fluoride. Only the relatively well off are able to have water filtration systems installed in their houses. The rest of the populace must use water as it comes from the tap.

Insist on products that are free of hazardous chemicals

If we are to become a healthy nation we must refuse to spend our hard earned money on food, personal care and household products that contain chemicals that are hazardous to health. A quick read of the labels before you buy will reveal which manufacturers have the best interest of people at heart and which are only concerned with their bottom lines. If there is a substance that`s not recognizable, it is probably a chemical. Many chemicals used in these types of products are directly carcinogenic or indirect causes of cancer by their depressive actions on the immune system. Teach what is really worth knowing

Germs make you sick and doctors make you well. That`s what most children leave school thinking in the U.S., because our schools place a greater emphasis on teaching things like what the major export products of ancient Egypt were than on teaching how the human body works and what to do to keep it healthy. Yet knowledge about how the body works and what it takes to keep it in top condition is also a basic human right underwritten by nature. We must insist that schools teach this knowledge if our goal is truly to be a healthy populace.

Students and adults too must be taught the full significance of homeostasis and the fact that the body will affect its own cure when given the support it needs. We must learn that treating symptoms is not the same thing as curing disease. It`s easy to understand our confusion, since we are constantly bombarded by ads for patent medicines that mask symptoms and never hear a word about natural cures. But the truth is that only natural remedies are capable of producing disease free, healthy people. Prescription drugs produce only people sliding further into disease. Natural remedies support the body and help it achieve homeostasis. Prescription drugs tear down the body and ultimately create a condition where returning to homeostasis becomes impossible.

If all the ad space currently used to promote prescription drugs was given to educating people about how to support their bodies the way nature intended, the U.S. could become a country of healthy people in short order, causing health insurance rates to plummet.

Included in the human health curriculum should be instruction in anatomy and physiology, and the basics of proteins, vitamins, minerals and herbs. The special compounds found in fruits that are so necessary for good health should be explained. Food selection, grouping, and the importance of digestion should be taught, as well as disease processes and how to avoid them. When students begin to graduate feeling knowledgeable and empowered to take charge of their health and well being for the rest of their lives, spiraling health care costs will be a thing of the past.

Many children receive both their breakfasts and lunches at school, and some even get their dinners there. But school meals are usually completely lacking in nutritional value. With the exception of processed orange juice drinks, fruits and vegetables are seldom seen. School meals should be recreated to set an example of healthy eating and to make sure children receive the best nutrition possible on earth to foster their healthy growth and development. When children are energized by a diet of health promoting foods they will be more willing to engage in daily fitness activities both inside and outside of school.

Many disease processes that get their starts during the years children are sitting in school desks for up to 10 hours a day could be circumvented by an experiential curriculum in which children learn by doing. To further knowledge, empowerment and understanding, school activities can be integrated into the community rather than kept separate. Students who are taught to think and problem solve in real situations are more likely to turn into adults who are able to keep themselves healthy.

It is important to realize that schools do everything to rob children of real, useful knowledge and empowerment with their mandate to produce dumbed-down non-thinkers who will fit nicely into positions as corporate and government drones. Financial education is seldom taught in schools because keeping young adults ignorant of financial matters puts them in a position to be exploited as they were in the recent mortgage fiasco. No person with even the most basic understanding of how money works would have signed up for an interest-only mortgage. A basic understanding of finance is critical to creating a secure place for one`s self in the world. Since money is the number one cause of stress, becoming a truly healthy society will elude us until there is freedom from exploitation and until people are able to hang onto the money they earn and use it for their own benefit and health.

Forget the overtime and get a good night`s sleep

Working 55 or more hours a week is associated with poor health. Dr. Paul Landsbergis from the Department of Community and Preventive Medicine at Mt. Sinai School of Medicine has noted that several studies of myocardial infarction and two studies of hypertension have shown an association of these diseases with long work weeks. He sees recent trends in the organization of work affecting workers` health by “increasing stress-related illnesses, such as cardiovascular disease, musculoskeletal disorders, and psychological disorders, by increasing exposure to hazardous substances and violence on the job.” Journal of Occupational and Environmental Medicine, January, 2003)

The Japanese call it karoshi. It means death from overwork, and it has been rising at an alarming rate in Japan. Strokes and heart attacks from overwork killed 147 Japanese workers last year. Once recognized, karoshi did not lead to immediate change. Instead, acceptance of long working hours and toughing it out remained the norm. But this may be changing, at least in Japan. In the U.S. extended work weeks are still on the rise, and there is as yet no word in the English language that means death from overwork. During the current “financial crisis” which has resulted in staggering unemployment rates, people here have felt the need to suck it up too, as employers try to squeeze extra labor out of them.

Anthropologist T. S. Wiley cites a pile of research showing that the reason overwork leads to poor health and death is because it robs people of a good night`s sleep. In her ground breaking book Lights Out she documents that nine hours of uninterrupted sleep is required to complete the full melatonin, prolactin cycle so necessary for a fully functioning immune system. When people sleep less than that amount, the immune system becomes compromised and is unable to protect against diseases such as cancer. People who work long hours still need time for commuting, chores, quality time with children, exercise and relaxation. They don`t have much time left for sleeping.

A psychologically healthy nation does not demand that its people work themselves to death. If we want to create a healthy population that makes insurance easily affordable by everyone, we need to end corporate tyranny over our work force and return work to its proper place as a means to an end, not an end in itself.

Put an end to bio-weaponry build up

A nation that is careless with the health of its people will forever have escalating health insurance rates. Recent designer diseases such as Lyme, AIDS, West Nile, and Legionnaires that have accidentally or purposefully been released from bio-weaponry labs such as Plum Island and Fort Detrick have done much to escalate the cost of health care.

Bio-engineering and warehousing of pathogens has created the potential for these pathogens to be released into the environment where they can infect people and set the stage for expensive but deadly vaccination programs to be initiated. A March 11th, 1979 episode of the television show 60 Minutes covered the massive vaccination program foisted on the public supposedly as a response to the 1976 swine flu outbreak. Army criminal investigators from Fort Meade are currently looking into the possibility that disease samples of H1N1 are missing from the bio-lab at Fort Detrick, the same lab from which the 2001 anthrax strain was released. As the healthcare debate rages on, there is one reality that even the proponents of this hostile takeover of healthcare by government cannot ignore -- and that is money. The government simply does not have the money for a new, expansive, public healthcare plan. The country is in a deep recession that will deepen even further with the coming collapse of the commercial real estate market. The last thing we need is for government to increase and expand taxes to pay for another damaging, wasteful program. Foreigners are becoming less enthusiastic about buying our debt, and creating another open-ended welfare program when we cannot pay for what is already in place, will not help. Champions of socialized medicine want to tax the rich, tax businesses that already cannot afford to provide health plans to employees, and tax people who don’t want to participate in the government’s scheme by buying an approved healthcare plan. Presumably, all these taxes are to induce compliance. This is not freedom, nor will it improve healthcare.

There are limits to how much government can tax before it kills the host. Even worse, when government attempts to subsidize prices, it has the net effect of inflating them instead. The economic reality is that you cannot distort natural market pressures without unintended consequences. Market forces would drive prices down. Government meddling negates these pressures, adds regulatory compliance costs and layers of bureaucracy, and in the end, drives prices up.

The non-partisan CBO estimates that the healthcare plan will cost almost a trillion dollars over the next ten years. But government crystal balls always massively underestimate costs. It is not hard to imagine the final cost being two or three times the estimates, even though the estimates are bad enough.

It is still surreal that in a free country we are talking only about HOW government should fix healthcare, rather than WHY government should fix healthcare. This should be between doctors and patients. But this has been the discussion since the 60’s and the inception of Medicare and Medicaid, when government first began intervening to keep costs down and make sure everyone had access. The result of Medicaid/Medicare price controls and regulatory burden has been to drive more doctors out of the system -- making it more difficult for the poor and the elderly to receive quality care! Seemingly, there are no failed government programs, only underfunded ones. If we refuse to acknowledge common sense economics, the prescription will always be the same: more government.

Make no mistake, government control and micromanagement of healthcare will hurt, not help healthcare in this country. However, if for a moment, we allowed the assumption that it really would accomplish all they claim, paying for it would still plunge the country into poverty. This solves nothing. The government, like any household struggling with bills to pay, should prioritize its budget. If the administration is serious about supporting healthcare without contributing to our skyrocketing deficits, they should fulfill promises to reduce our overseas commitments and use some of those savings to take care of Americans at home instead of killing foreigners abroad.

The leadership in Washington persists in a fantasy world of unlimited money to spend on unlimited programs and wars to garner unlimited control. But there is a fast-approaching limit to our ability to borrow, steal, and print. Acknowledging this reality is not mean-spirited or cruel. On the contrary, it could be the only thing that saves us from complete and total economic meltdown.

State to spy on parents, make sure kids go to bed on time, attend school

The UK government is about to spend $700 million dollars installing surveillance cameras inside the private homes of citizens to ensure that children go to bed on time, attend school and eat proper meals.

No you aren’t reading a passage from George Orwell’s 1984 or Aldous Huxley’s Brave New World, this is Britain in 2009, a country which already has more surveillance cameras watching its population than the whole of Europe put together.

Now the government is embarking on a scheme called “Family Intervention Projects” which will literally create a nanny state on steroids, with social services goons and private security guards given the authority to make regular “home checks” to ensure parents are raising their children correctly.

Telescreens will also be installed so government spies can keep an eye on whether parents are mistreating kids and whether the kids are fulfilling their obligations under a pre-signed contract.

Around 2,000 families have been targeted by this program so far and the government wants to snare 20,000 more within the next two years. The tab will be picked up by the taxpayer, with the “interventions” being funded through local council authorities.

Another key aspect of the program will see parents deemed “responsible” by the government handed the power to denounce and report bad parents who allow their children to engage in bad behavior. Such families will then be targeted for “interventions”.

Both parents and children will also be forced to sign a “behavior contract” with the government known as Home School Agreements before the start of every year, in which the state will dictate obligations that it expects to be met.

The opposition Conservative Party, who are clear favorites to win the next British election, commented that the program does not go far enough and is “too little, too late.”

Respondents to a Daily Express article about the new program expressed their shock at the totalitarian implications of what is unfolding in the United Kingdom under the guise of social services initiatives.

“Sorry, but what the hell? Why are people not up in arms about this?,” writes one, “This is a complete invasion of privacy, and it totally ignores the fact that the state does NOT own kids. It’s not up to them how parents choose to raise their children, as long as the parents do not actively harm them. Why on earth aren’t the public rioting? It’s completely anathema to basic British freedoms.”

“Excuse me!?! What an incredible intrusion into the privacy of a family! George Orwell must be spinning in his grave right now,” writes another.

“I have one comment to make: it completely violates Article 8 of the European Convention on Human Rights (Human Rights Act 1998). Has this minister and his lackies even done any basic homework on basic human rights and civil liberties? Or rather they’ve just decided to completely ignore them,” adds another.

The move to install surveillance cameras inside private homes is also on the agenda across the pond. In February 2006, Houston Chief of Police Harold Hurtt said cameras should be placed inside apartments and homes in order to “fight crime” due to there being a shortage of police officers.

“I know a lot of people are concerned about Big Brother, but my response to that is, if you are not doing anything wrong, why should you worry about it?” Chief Hurtt told reporters.

Andy Teas with the Houston Apartment Association supported the proposal, saying privacy concerns would take a back seat to many people who would, “appreciate the thought of extra eyes looking out for them.”

If such programs come to fruition and are implemented on a mass scale then the full scope of George Orwell’s depiction of a totalitarian society is his classic novel 1984 will have been realized.

HOUSTON (AP) — Houston's police chief on Wednesday proposed placing surveillance cameras in apartment complexes, downtown streets, shopping malls and even private homes to fight crime during a shortage of police officers.

"I know a lot of people are concerned about Big Brother, but my response to that is, if you are not doing anything wrong, why should you worry about it?" Chief Harold Hurtt told reporters Wednesday at a regular briefing.

Houston is facing a severe police shortage because of too many retirements and too few recruits, and the city has absorbed 150,000 hurricane evacuees who are filling apartment complexes in crime-ridden neighborhoods. The City Council is considering a public safety tax to pay for more officers.

Building permits should require malls and large apartment complexes to install surveillance cameras, Hurtt said. And if a homeowner requires repeated police response, it is reasonable to require camera surveillance of the property, he said.

Scott Henson, director of the American Civil Liberties Union's Police Accountability Project in Texas, called Hurtt's building-permit proposal "radical and extreme" and said it may violate the Fourth Amendment's protections against unreasonable searches.

Andy Teas with the Houston Apartment Association said that although some would consider cameras an invasion of privacy, "I think a lot of people would appreciate the thought of extra eyes looking out for them."

Such cameras are costly, Houston Mayor Bill White said, "but on the other hand we spend an awful lot for patrol presence." He called the chief's proposal a "brainstorm" rather than a decision.

The program would require City Council approval.

The age of the telescreen is upon us as surveillance cameras that festoon our streets, shopping malls and airports are now moving into our private homes as the panopticon prison is erected.

All over the United States, Canada and Britain, surveillance camera systems are being installed on street corners, in public bathrooms, in residential neighborhoods, and even in parks and forests. We are asked to trust the government underlings who control them that they are working for our best interests as said underlings are caught using the cameras to spy on naked women in their homes.

In the UK, government programs encourage citizens to spy on their neighbors and report suspicious activity as part of a CCTV channel subscriber package.

Homeland Security funding is being utilized to fund this mass expansion of the surveillance state in the US as city and state officials clamor at the teat of Big Brother to milk the cash cow of the police state and win the contracts for installing more and more sophisticated spy cameras.

The government demands to know everything about our private lives and catalogue, file and index every aspect of our existence, yet government itself becomes more and more secret with each passing day as it engages in escalating criminal activities.

The agenda behind surveillance cameras is not simply to track the movements of certain individuals. There are not enough watchers to catalogue all the information. The cameras are about behavior control and creating an omnipresent atmosphere whereby the citizen consciously regulates his own behavior so as not to seem suspicious. The surveillance cameras are there to make a statement. We are the prison guards, you are the prisoners.

As George Orwell described it in 1984,

This is the prison without bars. This is the panopticon, a prison so constructed that the inspector can see each of the prisoners at all times, without being seen. This is a portrait of the accelerating movement by western governments to erect giant, powerful, all-pervading mass surveillance, tracking and control grids that will keep all populations firmly under the baleful and watchful gaze of Big Brother.

Section 163 of the bill now in Congress allows the government real-time access to a person’s bank records, including direct access to bank accounts for electronic fund transfers.

Not only will Obama ration your health care — especially if you are a senior citizen — and have the government decide what treatment and benefits you get, the proposed plan will also build and expand the government’s surveillance and control grid.

Section 163 of the bill now in Congress allows the government real-time access to a person’s bank records, including direct access to bank accounts for electronic fund transfers. “Even-though the bill mentions privacy aspects, the fact remains that if approved, Obama’s health care plan will allow government access at any time to your personal bank records,” KFYI News reports.

“It’s pretty Orwellian, it certainly gets the government pretty darn deeply involved in private matters in our lives,” Arizona Congressman John Shadegg told the news radio station.

Orwellian it is, but hardly surprising or unprecedented.

After September 11, 2001, the government began tapping into a vast global database of confidential financial transactions. The government implemented a surveillance program and used a broad interpretation of the Treasury Department’s administrative powers to bypass traditional banking privacy protections. It is run by the CIA and managed by the Treasury Department.

“Current and former counterterrorism officials said the program works in parallel with the previously reported surveillance of international telephone calls, faxes and e-mails by the National Security Agency, which has eavesdropped without warrants on more than 5,000 Americans suspected of terrorist links,” the Washington Post reported on June 23, 2006. “Together with a hundredfold expansion of the FBI’s use of ‘national security letters’ to obtain communications and banking records, the secret NSA and Treasury programs have built unprecedented government databases of private transactions, most of them involving people who prove irrelevant to terrorism investigators.”

Treasury officials did not seek individual court-approved warrants or subpoenas to examine specific transactions, according to the New York Times.

As the Department of Homeland Security admits, the terrorists who supposedly threaten the United States are not Muslims plotting in distant caves, but the American people.

Section 163 of Obama’s bill is merely an attempt by the government to legitimize its massive snooping under the cover of health care. In addition to deducting medical costs directly from you account, the law will allow the state to monitor all of your financial transactions.
