House Speaker Nancy Pelosi wants you to read all 1,990 pages of the Obamacare plan. “We are putting it online for all Americans to see,” she announced. Most Americans will probably not read the bill. You’ll need Washington-ese decoder ring to plow through the monstrosity.

If you are adventurous, however, here is a  link to Pelosi’s “transparent” bill.

Republican John Boehner has posted the details of this boat anchor tribute to coercive government on his website. According to Boehner, the government take-over of health care includes: a plethora of new taxes on middle class families, massive cuts to Medicare benefits, no protections for small business, increased costs in the form of higher premiums, budget gimmickry to hide the massive total cost for future generations, imposes job-killing employer mandates, rigs the health care game in favor of a government-run insurance company, forces unfunded mandates on the states, adds more arcane gobbledegook to the tax code, and much more.

In fact, the bill — excluding the creation of the Federal Reserve and confiscatory income taxes — is the largest and most egregious intervention of the government into the private lives of Americans in history.

Americans for Tax Reform have posted the following points taken from the bill:

Employer Mandate Excise Tax (Page 275): If an employer does not pay 72.5 percent of a single employee’s health premium (65 percent of a family employee), the employer must pay an excise tax equal to 8 percent of average wages. Small employers (measured by payroll size) have smaller payroll tax rates of 0 percent (<$500,000), 2 percent ($500,000-$585,000), 4 percent ($585,000-$670,000), and 6 percent ($670,000-$750,000).

Individual Mandate Surtax (Page 296): If an individual fails to obtain qualifying coverage, he must pay an income surtax equal to the lesser of 2.5 percent of modified adjusted gross income (MAGI) or the average premium. MAGI adds back in the foreign earned income exclusion and municipal bond interest.

Medicine Cabinet Tax (Page 324): Non-prescription medications would no longer be able to be purchased from health savings accounts (HSAs), flexible spending accounts (FSAs), or health reimbursement arrangements (HRAs). Insulin excepted.

Cap on FSAs (Page 325): FSAs would face an annual cap of $2500 (currently uncapped).

Increased Additional Tax on Non-Qualified HSA Distributions (Page 326): Non-qualified distributions from HSAs would face an additional tax of 20 percent (current law is 10 percent). This disadvantages HSAs relative to other tax-free accounts (e.g. IRAs, 401(k)s, 529 plans, etc.)

Denial of Tax Deduction for Employer Health Plans Coordinating with Medicare Part D (Page 327): This would further erode private sector participation in delivery of Medicare services.

Surtax on Individuals and Small Businesses (Page 336): Imposes an income surtax of 5.4 percent on MAGI over $500,000 ($1 million married filing jointly). MAGI adds back in the itemized deduction for margin loan interest. This would raise the top marginal tax rate in 2011 from 39.6 percent under current law to 45 percent—a new effective top rate.

Excise Tax on Medical Devices (Page 339): Imposes a new excise tax on medical device manufacturers equal to 2.5 percent of the wholesale price. It excludes retail sales and unspecified medical devices sold to the general public.

Corporate 1099-MISC Information Reporting (Page 344): Requires that 1099-MISC forms be issued to corporations as well as persons for trade or business payments. Current law limits to just persons for small business compliance complexity reasons. Also expands reporting to exchanges of property.

Delay in Worldwide Allocation of Interest (Page 345): Delays for nine years the worldwide allocation of interest, a corporate tax relief provision from the American Jobs Creation Act

Limitation on Tax Treaty Benefits for Certain Payments (Page 346): Increases taxes on U.S. employers with overseas operations looking to avoid double taxation of earnings.

Codification of the “Economic Substance Doctrine” (Page 349): Empowers the IRS to disallow a perfectly legal tax deduction or other tax relief merely because the IRS deems that the motive of the taxpayer was not primarily business-related.

Application of “More Likely Than Not” Rule (Page 357): Publicly-traded partnerships and corporations with annual gross receipts in excess of $100 million have raised standards on penalties. If there is a tax underpayment by these taxpayers, they must be able to prove that the estimated tax paid would have more likely than not been sufficient to cover final tax liability.

In addition to the list of taxes for in the ATR report, our people found the following:

Employer FINE Under Mandated Excise Tax (Page 310): A $100 per day excise tax imposed on employers for each employee for whom employer fails to “satisfy the health coverage participation requirements”. Excise tax will not apply if Secretary determines even after “exercising reasonable diligence” employer was unaware of employee’s lack of participation in health coverage.

“CADILLAC” INSURANCE PLANS

Credit vs. Points (Pages 318-320) This portion gives the appearance of providing a temporary two-year credit while at the same time deducting “points” if the Secretary deems that the employer is too generous with its health care benefit package. Ex. p. 319, lines 11-18: “Credit not allowed with respect to certain highly compensated employees. No credit shall be determined under subsection (a) with respect to qualified employee health coverage expenses paid or incurred with respect to any employee for any taxable year if the aggregate compensation paid by the employer to such employee during such taxable year exceeds $80,000”.

MEDICAL REIMBURSEMENT

Uncompensated Care Increase (Page 389-390) Page 389, lines 14-19 detail a “significant” decrease in uninsurance will be triggered by only 8% decrease – “There is a “significant” decrease in the national rate of uninsurance as the result of this Act” if there is a decrease in the national rate of uninsurance from 2012 to 2014 that exceeds 8 percentage points.” Page 390, lines 4-9 detail the increase in uncompensated care – “For each fiscal year (beginning with 2017) , the Secretary shall estimate the aggregate reduction in the amount of Medicare DSH payment that would be expected to result from the adjustment under paragraph (1)(A)”. This, in turn, will lower payments to hospitals in reimbursement rates.

Employer Excise Tax (Pages 313-317): If an employer chooses not to provide health insurance to employees, an excise tax on the total wages paid is imposed on the employer. The excise tax percentage ranges from 2% of total payroll of $500,000 to 8% of payroll of $750,000 or more. If an employer has less than $500,000 annual payroll, he pays no excise tax.

Employer Health Coverage Tax Credit (Pages 317-319): Small business owners receive a tax credit of 50% of health insurance paid for employees whose wages are $20,000 or less per year when the employer has 10 or fewer employees. The tax credit is prorated as the amount of wages increases, leaving no tax credit for the employer when such employee’s wages total $80,000 or more per year.

For employers with more than 10 employees, the tax credit calculated by the proratio shall be reduced by an amount in the ratio of 10 to total number of employees.

*Government Panel for Senior Care Decisions (Pages 649-661): The Secretary has the right to waive requirements of the Social Security Act Titles XI & XVIII. These providers will put together patient decisions aids and share in seniors’ decisions regarding their health care. Seniors will attend counseling provided by said panel. Compensation will be granted to providers who generate less cost for care with regards to Parts A and B of Medicare.

Government Legislation of Pain Research (Pages 1493-1501): Page 1496 describes the attributes of committee members (6 members are scientists, physicians, other health professionals while another 6 members are from general public representatives from leading in research, advocacy and service organizations for individuals with pain-related conditions). This committee will coordinate all efforts within the Department of Health and Human Services and other Federal agencies that relate to pain research. Appears to be a decision making board on treatment protocols, create a public awareness campaign on pain. Ramifications include overly regulated treatment protocols for chronic pain and the possible end result of rationing. The viability of private research is questioned in light of this section.

(Page 1501): Lines 15-18 establish the authorization of appropriations – “For purposes of carrying out this section, there are authorized to be appropriated $2,000,000 for fiscal year 2011 and $4,000,000 for each of fiscal years 2012 and 2015”.

Government Regulation of Staffing in Nursing Facilities (Pages 822-826): In a specific motion to alter state authority of nursing facilities and to provide the Secretary and consumer advocacy groups with overreaching authority, this section of the bill calls for an amendment to the Social Security Act “(C) Submission of Staffing Information Based on Payroll Data in a Uniform Format.” The Secretary of Health and Human Services shall require a skilled nursing facility to electronically submit to the Secretary direct care staffing information including agency and contract staff, based on payroll and other verifiable and auditable data in a uniform format as established by the Secretary in consultation with among others, consumer advocacy groups.

Government Authority in Determining Medical Home Models (Pages 680-690): Secretary is provided wide latitude to fund and create both independent and community-based medical home models in order to reward physicians and others to coordinate treatment for chronically ill patients in underserved (rural) areas. Patient need not designate a doctor as their caregiver.

NATIONAL HEALTH SERVICE CORPS

Obligated Service Requirement (Page 1220): “The entity and the Corps member agree in writing that the Corps member will perform half-time clinical practice”. Essentially, this details “those individuals who have entered into a contract for obligated service under the Scholarship Program or Loan Repayment Program un which the individuals are authorized to satisfy the requirement of obligated service through providing clinical practice”. Essentially these individuals are obliged to work off debt in this capacity.

ABORTION

Abortion Coverage (Page 110): “Nothing in this Act shall be construed as preventing the public health insurance option from providing for or prohibiting coverage of services described in paragraph (4)(A)”. Paragraph (4)(A) Abortion Services – Abortions for which public funding is prohibited. That said, paragraph (4)(B) “The services described in this subparagraph are for abortions for which the expenditure of Federal funds appropriated for the Department of Health and Human Services is permitted.”
GOVERNMENT REGULATION OF INDUSTRY

Health Czar (Page 133): Establishes Health Czar and bureaucracy, i.e. “Health Choices Commissioner” and “Health Choices Administration”. Essentially, this area lends the Health Commissioner and Health Choices Administration power over health insurance plans both inside and outside of the Health Insurance Exchange. The concern is that the provision invites overreaching authority and oversight of plans specifically set up to provide timely and needed care not readily available through the government exchange-controlled plans.

Health Czar Health Plan Audits (Page 133-134) Provides “Health Commissioner”/Czar with wide discretion to audit “qualified health benefits plans” and then bill the plan for the cost of the audit, regardless of grounds for the audit and regardless of whether or not the plan was found to have violated any regulation. The concern is the overreaching of authority and power over private health plans and the conjecture is that this will force a process by which consumers are significantly limited in their health plan choices. As written, no protection from abuse of power in this regard is provided.

Regulation of Services (Page 383) Lines 11-16 allot for using appropriate indicators for non-therapy ancillary services classification, which may include age, physical and mental status, ability to perform activities of daily living, etc. The concern is over the method of deciding care delivery, placing key decision-making elements in the hands of politicians and other non-medical staff as opposed to the hands of patients’ doctors and families.

Regulation on Patient Stay (Page 385) Establishes payment based on total costs during stay in a skilled nursing facility as opposed to the number of days in such stay.

ABORTION

Abortion Coverage (Page 110): “Nothing in this Act shall be construed as preventing the public health insurance option from providing for or prohibiting coverage of services described in paragraph (4)(A)”. Paragraph (4)(A) Abortion Services – Abortions for which public funding is prohibited. Federal Funding of Abortion (Page 147) Lines 14-(1) IN GENERAL.—“Nothing in this Act shall be construed to have any effect on Federal laws regarding – (A) conscience protection; (B) willingness or refusal to provide abortion; (C) discrimination on the basis of the willingness or refusal to provide, pay for, cover, or refer for abortion or to provide or participate in training to provide abortion. The concern regards lines 20-23 (C) as it is viewed as a potential open door for funding of organizations such as Planned Parenthood. The document affirms that this bill has no effect on current law where discrimination based on either willingness or refusal to participate in abortion services, and thus, provides no additional protect against the use of Federal funds allocated for abortion services. As, additionally, the Hyde Amendment is in no way incorporated into this piece of legislation and because no additional explicit protections exist in this document, this piece of legislation will, indeed, provide authorization of federal funding of abortion under the public option.

Additionally, because there is no ban on abortion funding under the reauthorization of the Indian Health Service (IHS), and additionally no additional protections such as the Vitter Amendment, there is nothing to prevent abortion funding.

Mandated School-Based Health Clinics (Page 1354) Lines 9-21 states, “(c) Use of Funds – Funds awarded under a grant under this section …(2) may not be used to provide abortions. However, there is no specific language prohibiting either abortion referrals or the distribution of information materials regarding access to abortion.

Required Reporting Regarding Infections Sec. 1138A – Requirement for public reporting by hospitals and ambulatory surgical centers on health care-associated infections. Page 915 – States, “infections are to be publicly posted and compared by demographic information.” Page 916 – States “infections are being studied in such detail in order to reduce costs, not because of quality of care concerns”. The concern stems from both the ambiguity that exists in the statement referenced on page 915 as well as the lack of concern over quality of care in regards to infection.

Required Reporting Trumps State Laws Sec. 1128H – Financial reports on physicians’ financial relationships with manufacturers and distributors of covered drugs, devices, biologicals or medical supplies under Medicare, Medicaid, or CHIP and with entities that bill for services under Medicare. Page 910 – Concerns is that language pre-empts state laws requiring manufacturers to report their relationships to physicians. Page 912 – Establishes that “Comptroller General” is to file a report establishing that no loopholes exist in said section.

(a) (3) funding to operate and maintain sanitation facilities….(b) Congress reaffirms the primary responsibility and authority of the Service to provide the necessary sanitation facilities and services as provided in section 7 of the Act of August 5, 1954 (42 U.S.C. 2004a)…..(Page 1783) – (c) (5) fund up to 100% of a tribes loan for sanitation facility….…(Page 1785)(c) (8) the Secretary of Health and Human Services shall, by regulation, establish standards applicable to the planning, design, and construction of sanitation facilities funded under this Act… (Page 1787) (d) The financial and technical capability of an Indian Tribe, Tribal Organization, or Indian community to safely operate, manage, and maintain a sanitation facility shall not be a prerequisite to the provision or construction of sanitation facilities by the Secretary”. It is posited that this item is a necessary item for the bill as septic-related issues directly affect health issues for the Indian Community. However, it is a concern that this is transition of power overrides local standards for the Indian Community and usurps local authority over key community infrastructure and systems. It is worthy to note, as well, that sanitation needs include a clean water source which involves a myriad of issues related to clean water and environmental concerns.

Billionaire globalist warns Americans against resisting new global financial system

Billionaire globalist George Soros told the Financial Times during an interview that China will supplant the United States as the leader of the new world order and that America should not resist the country’s decline as the dollar weakens, living standards drop, and a new global currency is introduced.

Asked what Obama should discuss when he visits China next month, Soros stated, “This would be the time because I think you really need to bring China into the creation of a new world order, financial world order,” adding that China was a reluctant member of the IMF who didn’t make enough of a contribution.

“I think you need a new world order that China has to be part of the process of creating it and they have to buy in, they have to own it in the same way as the United States owns…the current order,” said Soros, adding that the G20 was a move in this direction.

Soros said that there was a flight from currencies across the board, and that this is why the price of commodities, notably gold and oil, were generally rising. He also stated that an orderly decline of the dollar was “desirable” and that the entire system needed to be reconstituted towards a global currency.

“You need a new currency system and actually the Special Drawing Rights do give you the makings of a system and I think it’s ill-considered on the part of the United States to resist the wider use of Special Drawing Rights, they could be very useful now when you have a global shortfall of demand, you could actually internationally create currency through Special Drawing Rights,” said Soros, explaining that this was already in process after the IMF injected an allocation of Special Drawing Rights (SDRs) equivalent to $250 billion into the global economy.

Soros also stated that richer countries were already transferring wealth to poorer countries via SDR’s, with the IMF paying for the half per cent transaction cost.

Soros said the world would have to go through a “painful adjustment” following the decline of the dollar and the introduction of a global currency. Reading between the lines, he essentially threatened to kill the dollar completely if the United States did not get on board with the global currency.

Soros predicted that China would become the new engine of the global economy, replacing the U.S., and that this would slow economic growth and reduce living standards. Soros characterized the United States as a drag on the global economy because of the declining dollar.

Thanks to the release of Alex Jones’ groundbreaking documentary Fall of the Republic, we are provided with an extremely effective tool in the struggle for liberty. We need only to download, burn and distribute the film to as many people as possible in order to promote the info war to the next level. Although the film has already gone viral, the speed with which the New World Order is implementing its propaganda demands an acceleration of our efforts. There is, after all, a mesmerized collective to engage with all its inherent groupthink, unconsciously rocking to the rhythm of globalism.

The project for world government has been unleashed in all its facets, not only in the U.S. but in nation-states worldwide. The more one considers the machinery of mass media rolled out against the people, the more urgent becomes the counter effort. The web that is spun around us is so elaborate in its design that one needs all the help available to struggle free from it. To start off with good tidings, it has to be reported that the agenda can’t help exposing itself as it is being hurried through at too great a speed as to fully conceal the designs of the puppet masters. The private central banksters are scurrying to a shadowy corner while the spotlight is aimed on their activities. The psychological operators are increasingly being forced into the defensive. The concepts “left” and “right” no longer possess their former charm; the concept of liberty versus tyranny becomes all the more real and pressing.

History teaches us that when a tyrannical colossus presses down on the people, man can only be pushed so far before he rises in defiance against it. Gaining steam at every turn, a mass counter effort has emerged to take the quantum leap from classic paradigms to the current reality, across the boundaries of self-induced meekness, to embark on the quest of conscience that is required of everyone before entering into battle. After all, nothing is achieved by nothing; and everything now relies on the individual’s courage that can only be found staring back at him from the looking glass.

There are two players involved in this information war. There is the New World Order on the one hand, equipped with all the well-oiled mechanisms of mind control. And there are the people on the other side of the isle, baring witness to the gathering dark, but all too often unable to fence of the pitchforks of propaganda poking at them from all sides. Though the first has comfortably accustomed itself to being on the winning side, the latter are gradually beginning to rediscover their potential. And with the release of Fall of the Republic that potential may be transformed into action.

One of the mechanisms through which the elite attempt (and too often succeed) to entrance their underlings (us), is by the science of predictive programming. A concept worked out by Alan Watt in great detail, explaining how the scientific elite are in the habit of announcing future actions through works of fiction distributed by the mass media. Predictive programming serves to desensitize the target audience to the possibility of an event while the responsible programmers remain loyal to their age-old law of announcing a crime, in roughly the same manner as a ‘terrorist’ announces beforehand which building he will blow up.

However almighty the New World Order may seem though, it mainly owes its fear-inducing powers to the dark in which it operates. Once driven from its lair into the full light of day, its shadow will shrink as the creature creeps to safety. The fearful will realise they have allowed themselves to be afraid of a tiny little spider, curled up in a corner.

Because we have been incrementally taught by the readymade packages of propaganda not to act without say-so, the individual awaits no easy task. There is no central headquarter to report back to, only one’s reflection in the mirror. And therein exactly lays his great strength. The current counteroffensive launched by the New World Order is hard put to it, co-opting an action that is coordinated at the individual level. Any mass movement, however well intended, will always leave its insides exposed to the enemy and is usually slow in the uptake. The individual on the other hand can move with an almost acrobatic manoeuvrability compared to its counterpart, unhindered by a smothering order holding him back. He does not depend on any master to obey, but rather on its own conscience intrinsically embedded within the soul. That’s why all mass movements in the past have ultimately been infiltrated by psychological operators and false prophets. They have learned through trial and error that in order to move the blocks of history, they must first squeeze the mass into one place, fenced in by bounds of barbwire.

The New World Order is compelled to take aim against the individual. And, from its dark point of view, they are wise to do so. For the individual with all his potential for good, is largely out of reach of the controlling claw of tyranny stretching out to grab him. The enemy relies on mass dependency and collectivism to push their agenda through. We, on the other hand, rely on our conscience to make a change for the better, neither desiring nor expecting a heads-up from headquarters. After all, our mind is too precious a jewel to be outsourced. Now we have a film in our hands, a red pill, with which the spell of mind control may be broken.

Oct. 23, 2009 | For better or worse, our American Idiocracy has come to rely on athletes as national pedagogues. Michael Jordan educated the country about commitment and just doing it. A.C. Green lectured us about sexual caution. Serena Williams and John McEnroe taught us what sportsmanship is -- and is not. And Charles Barkley outlined how society should define role models.

So when a single week like this one sees both the Justice Department back states' medical marijuana laws, and a Gallup poll shows record-level support for pot legalization, we can look to two superjocks -- Lance Armstrong and Michael Phelps -- for the key lesson about our absurd drug policy.

This Tale of Two Supermen began in February when Phelps, the gold-medal swimmer, was plastered all over national newspapers in a photo that showed him hitting a marijuana bong. Though he was smoking in private, the image ignited a public firestorm. USA Swimming suspended Phelps, Kellogg pulled its endorsement deal and the Associated Press sensationalized the incident as a national decision about whether heroes should "be perfect or flawed."

The alleged imperfection was Phelps’ decision to quietly consume a substance that "poses a much less serious public health problem than is currently posed by alcohol," as a redacted World Health Organization report admits. That's a finding confirmed by almost every objective science-based analysis, including a landmark University of California study in 2006 showing "no association at all" between marijuana use and cancer.

Alcohol, by contrast, causes roughly one in 30 of the world's cancer cases, according to the International Journal of Cancer. And a new report by Cancer Epidemiology journal shows that even beer, seemingly the least potent drink, may increase the odds of developing tumors.

Which brings us to Armstrong. This month, the Tour de France champion who beat cancer inked a contract to hawk Anheuser-Busch’s alcohol. That's right, less than a year after Phelps was crucified for merely smoking weed in private, few noticed or protested the planet's most famous cancer survivor becoming the public face of a possible carcinogen.

"Apparently, it’s perfectly acceptable for a world-class athlete to endorse a substance like alcohol that contributes to thousands of deaths each year, as well as hundreds of thousands of violent crimes and injuries," says Mason Tvert, a co-author of the new book "Marijuana Is Safer." "Yet a world-class athlete like Michael Phelps is ridiculed, punished and forced to apologize for marijuana, the use of which contributes to zero deaths, and has never been linked to violent or reckless behavior. Why the double standard?"

The data prove the answer isn't about health, and our culture proves it isn't about widespread allegiance to "Just Say No" abstinence. After all, whether through liquor commercials, wine magazines, beer-named stadiums or cocktail-drenched office parties, our society is constantly encouraging us to get our liquid high.

No, the double standard is about know-nothing statutes and attitudes promoting the recreational use of alcohol and banning the similar use of marijuana -- all thanks to retrograde mythologies of post-'60s Americana. In our now-dominant backlash folklore, the patriots are the straitlaced Joe and Jane Sixpacks -- and the Armstrongs who encourage their drinking. Meanwhile, the supposed evildoers are the pot-smoking Cheeches, Chongs and Phelpses, whose marijuana use allegedly underscores a dangerous hippie-ness.

Ergo, the moral of this Tale of Two Supermen: To end contradictions in narcotics policy and permit safer recreational drug choices, we have to first reject the outdated Silent Majority-vs.-Counterculture iconography that defines so much of our politics. We must, in other words, replace caricatures with scientific facts and mature into something more than an Idiocracy.

We should all be able to imbibe -- or inhale -- to that.

Congressman Ron Paul has questioned why, despite his efforts to encourage the general public to get vaccinated against the H1N1 virus, President Barack Obama has refused to allow his own daughters to take the swine flu shot.

Despite the fact that Obama on Friday declared a national emergency in response to the H1N1 outbreak, he apparently doesn’t deem it enough of a threat to have his two daughters vaccinated against the virus.

Such double standards have  led media pundits to call for Obama to get his daughters vaccinated on live television, in an effort to encourage American parents to do the same for their kids. The swine flu vaccination program, which was initially intended to be a “mass” inoculation covering the entire population, has been rejected by a majority of Americans who harbor deep suspicions about dangerous additives contained in the vaccine such as mercury and squalene.

In a Campaign For Liberty video message, former Presidential candidate Ron Paul labeled the vaccination program a “failure,” and slammed Obama for failing to follow the same advice he gave to the nation.

“It’s interesting to note that the President’s children have not gotten their shots and the explanation for this is it hasn’t been available to them – now that’s a little bit hard to buy when you think that probably anything the President wants can be available for their children,” said Paul, adding, “So in a way he’s made his decision not to give his children these inoculations – so if he has freedom of choice on this, I would like to make sure that all the American people have the same amount of freedom of choice.”

Others have echoed similar sentiments. “Surely if there is a national emergency and if the President and First Lady of the United States wanted flu shots for their daughters, they could get them. It is certainly connected to our national security right? I mean the president needs to have his wits about him 24/7 not worrying over sick children. Could this instead be yet another case of “do as I say, not as I do” from the Obama administration?” writes Cathryn Friar.

Paul compared Obama’s hypocrisy to politicians who lobby for the virtues of public education yet in every instance educate their own children privately.

“The biggest champions of public education make sure their kids never get public education, they always get private education where there’s a lot better choices than the kind of system they’re promoting,” said the Congressman.

Obama certainly isn’t stupid enough to inject his own kids with the same toxic soup that he encourages the idiot public to receive, and will probably be keen on getting access to the special additive-free swine flu shots produced by Baxter International that have been made available for the elite.

As Spiegel Online reported earlier this month, German Chancellor Angela Merkel and government ministers received a mercury and squalene-free H1N1 vaccine. “The Vakzin [vaccine] does not contain disputed additives — contrary to the vaccine for the remainder of the population,” reported the newspaper. Soldiers in the German army were also given the adjuvant-free vaccine.

Employees of the Paul Ehrlich Institute in Germany also received the “green” inoculation after their president Johannes Löwer labeled the vaccine a greater threat than the virus itself. Löwer’s comment came after German lung specialist Wolfgang Wodarg said the vaccine increases the risk of cancer. The nutrient solution for the vaccine consists of cancerous cells from animals.

In the video update, Congressman Paul also warned that Obama’s emergency declaration on Friday was part of a plan to condition people to accept the notion of government as protector and coerce the public into complying with whatever they say, including forced quarantines.

The White House announced today that the president’s daughters received the H1N1 vaccine after it became available to Washington, D.C. schoolchildren.

The vaccine was administered last week to Malia, 11, and Sasha, 8, by a White House physician, who applied for and received the vaccine from the D.C. Department of Health, “using the same process as every other vaccination site in the District,” according to the first lady’s Press Secretary Katie McCormick-Lelyveld.

The president and first lady have not yet received the vaccination. The White House said they will wait until the needs of priority target groups -- young people under 24, pregnant women, and people with underlying conditions -- receive theirs first.

“I suspect that I may come fairly far down the line,” The president told CNN last month. “We want to get vaccinated. We think it's the right thing to do. We will stand in line like everybody else. And when folks say it's our turn, that's when we'll get it.

On Friday President Obama signed a proclamation declaring H1N1 a national emergency. 

All four members of the first family received the seasonal flu shot last week.

Proclamation little more than a PR stunt to coerce people into taking widely unpopular H1N1 vaccine

President Obama’s declaration that the H1N1 outbreak represents a “national emergency” seems to be little more than a public relations stunt aimed at intimidating reticent Americans into taking a vaccine that is becoming increasingly unpopular and unnecessary.

Despite the fact that swine flu cases have seemingly peaked, allied to the fact that seasonal flu has proven far deadlier, on Friday night Obama declared a national emergency in order to “allow hospitals to better handle the surge in patients” by allowing them to bypass certain federal laws.

What “surge in patients”? Swine flu has killed just 0.2 people per thousand who have caught the virus, a far lower potency than the annual flu virus which kills one patient per thousand, meaning swine flu has proven to be around 400% less deadly than the regular flu.

Either the government is preparing for an engineered pandemic of which they have prior knowledge, or Obama’s announcement is a flagrant abuse of executive power and a ruse to coerce more people into taking the vaccine.

As we have exhaustively documented, polls out of the U.S., as well as globally, show that a rapidly growing number of health professionals and the general public are refusing to take the vaccine because they either think it is unnecessary or they are concerned about potential side-effects.

Despite a desperate $16 million media propaganda campaign on behalf of the federal government that is trying to brainwash Americans into rolling up their sleeves and taking the shot, a majority of people aren’t buying the hype.

The purpose of Obama’s declaration is to heighten fears surrounding swine flu and create the artificial impression that the vaccine is in demand, when the opposite is the true. The government hopes this will create a herd-like rush to take the shot amongst the general public.

Early indications are that the ruse may be working.

“I’ve already gotten a couple of calls from people today asking, ‘Where can I get the vaccine?’ whereas yesterday it was, ‘I don’t want that vaccine,’ ” said Arthur Caplan, a University of Pennsylvania bioethicist. “I’m worried about people getting panicky and the vaccine being diverted away from those who need it most.”

Dr. Peter Hotez, a research professor and chairman of the Department of Microbiology, Immunology and Tropical Medicine at George Washington University, admitted that the term, “emergency declaration sounds more dramatic than it really is.”

The government has already emphasized the notion that the vaccine is now in short supply, despite the fact that they previously assured the public there would be enough batches to cover the entire population by September. By combining this artificial scarcity with the scary notion that the situation now represents an “emergency,” more of the sheeple will be intimidated into lining up and taking the toxic shot so as to soothe the underlying fear that a pandemic is around the corner and they might not be protected against it. That way the pharmaceutical giants get to inflate their already record profits to new levels of greed and the government gets to inject its otherwise worthless stockpile of vaccines into the idiot public.

Additionally, as Mike Adams and others have pointed out, classifying the situation as a national emergency triggers all kinds of tyrannical provisions that the feds have been waiting to unleash, while also empowering FEMA to lock down American cities under a state of medical martial law. Mandatory vaccinations, quarantines, curfews, involuntary kidnap, and warrantless searches and seizures are now just a heartbeat away because Obama’s order has in effect nullified the bill of rights.

We can only hope that this is not a precursor to a major biological attack or pandemic outbreak, but it would hardly be a surprise if it was. The government has been preparing to unleash full-scale martial law upon the American public for years but whether swine flu will be enough to realize that agenda remains to be seen.

At best, Obama’s Friday night declaration was a crude propaganda stunt designed to whip up fervor behind the H1N1 vaccine and corral millions of reluctant Americans into allowing their bodies to become a dumping ground for mercury, squalene, cancerous animal cells and God knows what other additives are in the shot, while the elite rest easy in the knowledge that they have privileged access to a clean version of the vaccine that contains none of these dangerous adjuvants.

One conclusive hallmark of a failed state is that the crooks are inside the government, using government to protect and to advance their private interests.

Another conclusive hallmark is rising income inequality as the insiders manipulate economic policy for their enrichment at the expense of everyone else.

The Banksters are still in charge.

Income inequality in the US is now the most extreme of all countries.  The 2008 OECD report, “Income Distribution and Poverty in OECD Countries,” [ PDF]concludes that the US is the country with the highest inequality and poverty rate across the OECD and that since 2000 nowhere has there been such a stark rise in income inequality as in the US.

The OECD finds that in the US the distribution of wealth is even more unequal than the distribution of income.

On October 21, 2009, Business Week reported that a new report from the United Nations Development Program concluded that the US ranked third among states with the worst income inequality.  As number one and number two, Hong Kong and Singapore, are both essentially city states, not countries, the US actually has the shame of being the country with the most inequality in the distribution of income.

The stark increase in US income inequality in the 21st century coincides with the offshoring of US jobs, which enriched executives with “performance bonuses” while impoverishing the middle class, and with the rapid rise of unregulated OTC derivatives, which enriched Wall Street and the financial sector at the expense of everyone else.

Millions of Americans have lost their homes and half of their retirement savings while being loaded up with government debt to bail out the banksters who created the derivative crisis.

Frontline’s October 21 broadcast, “The Warning,” documents how Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan, Treasury Secretary Robert Rubin, Deputy Treasury Secretary Larry Summers, and Securities and Exchange Commission Chairman Arthur Levitt blocked Brooksley Born, head of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, from performing her statutory duties and regulating OTC derivatives.

After the worst crisis in US financial history struck, just as Brooksley Born said it would, a disgraced Alan Greenspan was summoned out of retirement to explain to Congress his unequivocal assurances that no regulation of derivatives was necessary.  Greenspan had even told Congress that regulation of derivatives would be harmful.  A pathetic Greenspan had to admit that the free market ideology on which he had relied turned out to have a flaw.

Greenspan may have bet our country on his free market ideology, but does anyone believe that Rubin and Summers were doing anything other than protecting the enormous fraud-based profits that derivatives were bringing Wall Street?  As Brooksley Born stressed, OTC derivatives are a “dark market.” There is no transparency. Regulators have no information on them and neither do purchasers.

Even after Long Term Capital Management blew up in 1998 and had to be bailed out, Greenspan, Rubin, and Summers stuck to their guns. Greenspan, Rubin and Summers, and a roped-in gullible Arthur Levitt who now regrets that he was the banksters’ dupe, succeeded in manipulating a totally ignorant Congress into blocking the CFTC from doing its mandated job. Brooksley Born, prevented by the public’s elected representatives from protecting the public, resigned.  Wall Street money simply shoved facts and honest regulators aside, guaranteeing government inaction and the financial crisis that hit in 2008 and continues to plague our economy today.

The financial insiders running the Treasury, White House, and Federal Reserve shifted to taxpayers the cost of the catastrophe that they had created.  When the crisis hit, Henry Paulson, appointed by President Bush as Rubin’s replacement as the Goldman Sachs representative running the US Treasury, hyped fear to obtain from “our” representatives in Congress with no questions asked hundreds of billions of taxpayers’ dollars (TARP money)  to bail out Goldman Sachs and the other malefactors of unregulated derivatives.

When Goldman Sachs recently announced that it was paying massive six- and seven-figure bonuses to every employee, public outrage erupted.  In defense of banksters, saved with the public’s money, paying themselves bonuses in excess of most people’s life-time earnings, Lord Griffiths, Vice Chairman of Goldman Sachs International, said that the public must learn to “tolerate the inequality as a way to achieve greater prosperity for all.”[Public must learn to 'tolerate the inequality' of bonuses, says Goldman Sachs vice-chairman]

In other words, “Let them eat cake.”

According to the UN report cited above, Great Britain has the 7th most unequal income distribution in the world. After the Goldman Sachs bonuses, the British will move up in distinction, perhaps rivalling Israel for the fourth spot in the hierarchy.

Despite the total insanity of unregulated derivatives, the high level of public anger, and Greenspan’s confession to Congress, still nothing has been done to regulate derivatives.

One of Rubin’s Assistant Treasury Secretaries, Gary Gensler, has replaced Brooksley Born as head of the CFTC.  Larry Summers is the head of President Obama’s National Economic Council.  Former Federal Reserve official Timothy Geithner, a Paulson protege, runs the Obama Treasury.  A Goldman Sachs vice president, Adam Storch, has been appointed the chief operating officer of the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The Banksters are still in charge.

Is there another country in which in full public view so few so blatantly use government for the enrichment of private interests, with a coterie of “free market” economists available to justify plunder on the grounds that “the market knows best”?

A narco-state is bad enough.  The US surpasses this horror with its financo-state.

As Brooksley Born says, if nothing is done, “it’ll happen again.”

But nothing can be done.  The crooks have the government.

Lord Monckton of England, who is a man made global warming (MMGW) critic, recently made a speech regarding a climate change treaty (Copenhagen Treaty) which he believes Obama will sign at the UNFCCC in December 2009 (1). According to Lord Monckton this treaty will subjugate America to Communist rule and will transfer American wealth to third world countries.

While Monckton is a hero for promoting truth about MMGW, and claims to have been involved in the funding of a lawsuit against showing Al Gore’s “An Inconvenient Truth” movie to British school children that resulted in a mandatory disclaimer of the movie when shown, Monckton has misunderstood a few facts about the Copenhagen Treaty.

Firstly, he has understated the necessity of getting into action now. The ’sleeping giant’ of the American masses must awaken now! (See the action list below). He also failed to mention in this clip that this IS Agenda 21 Sustainable Development being imposed in real time.

Secondly, he blames the proposed Communist One World Government upon those who “piled over the Berlin Wall”, when, in fact, the culpability lies squarely in the lap of the usual suspects- the bankers: this is a UN inspired treaty and the global warming lies are based on the UN’s IPCC corrupt science (remember that the Rockefellers fund and design most UN programs). Also, the Rothschilds have set up a carbon credit banking scheme (2). Follow the money.

Lastly, Lord Monckton unfortunately mistated that treaties supersede the Constitution and that once Obama signs this treaty, there is no recourse against the treaty other than agreement in partisan between all 50 states. This is not true, as the Supremacy Clause of the Constitution, Article IV, paragraph 2, reads as follows:

“This Constitution, and the Laws of the United States which shall be made in Pursuance thereof; and all Treaties made, or which shall be made, under the Authority of the United States, shall be the Supreme Law of the Land; and the Judges in every State shall be bound thereby, any Thing in the Constitution or Laws of any State to the contrary notwithstanding.”

The Supremacy Clause has been misinterpreted and twisted to mean that treaties supersede the Constitution. The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) has a hand in accrediting schools; it’s now wonder that many “well educated” attorneys misinterpret the Constitution (3). It is also interesting to note that the Rockefellers have debased American education and history as outlined in G. As a result, the Supremacy Clause is misunderstood and has yet to be clearly defined, though many have tried to get a Supreme Court decision on this matter. Constitutional expert, former Sheriff Richard Mack is emphatic that treaties are subservient to the Constitution, and that many lawyers are misinformed.

Further proof that the Constitution outranks treaties can be extrapolated from the Supreme Court decision Reid v Covert, which states, “This Court has regularly and uniformly recognized the supremacy of the Constitution over a treaty”, althought the ruling was applied to an executive agreement, not a treaty.

High-tech fascism straight out of V For Vendetta on the horizon

In the 2005 movie V For Vendetta, a film about a totalitarian society ruled by a fascist government with an iron surveillance fist, there’s a scene where state spooks drive down a residential street with a gadget that records the conversations people are having inside their homes and gives them a rating on how antagonistic towards the authorities they are.

A frighteningly similar scenario is now on the horizon with the news that the CIA’s investment arm In-Q-Tel is putting cash into Visible Technologies, a company that monitors the output of social media, in order to “Read your blog posts, keep track of your Twitter updates — even check out your book reviews on Amazon,” reports Wired News.

Of course, the fact that the U.S. government and the military have been overloading the Internet with pro-war propaganda and trolls who are paid to cheerlead for the war on terror and attack critics is an admitted part of their cyberwarfare agenda, and Israel has done the same.

However, the prospect of the CIA closely monitoring social networking websites, whose content largely comprises of inane gossip and sophomoric blabber, shows just how afraid the establishment is of rising popular opposition to their agenda.

“Visible crawls over half a million web 2.0 sites a day, scraping more than a million posts and conversations taking place on blogs, online forums, Flickr, YouTube, Twitter and Amazon. Customers get customized, real-time feeds of what’s being said on these sites, based on a series of keywords,” according to Wired.

The software scores whether each post is positive, neutral or negative on a particular topic and can judge who the most influential poster is in a conversation, for example on a comment board or forum.

According to In-Q-Tel, it wants to use the technology to see how international issues are playing out in foreign media, but as the report notes, “Of course, such a tool can also be pointed inward, at domestic bloggers or tweeters. Visible already keeps tabs on web 2.0 sites for Dell, AT&T and Verizon. For Microsoft, the company is monitoring the buzz on its Windows 7 rollout. For Spam-maker Hormel, Visible is tracking animal-right activists’ online campaigns against the company.”

Steven Aftergood of the Federation of American Scientists warns that the software could be used to track and target critics of the government, as well as political figures and journalists.

“Intelligence agencies or employees might be tempted to use the tools at their disposal to compile information on political figures, critics, journalists or others, and to exploit such information for political advantage,” Aftergood told Wired.

Visible chief executive officer Dan Vetras said that the CIA was just one of several government clients that were using the technology and that more were on the horizon.

Nation of Islam leader tells Memphis audience swine flu shot is a soft kill weapon

Nation of Islam leader Minister Louis Farrakhan told an audience in Memphis on Sunday that they should refuse to take the H1N1 vaccine because it is a soft kill weapon designed to reduce global population.

Farrakhan has never shied from controversy and has previously spoken out on 9/11 being an inside job and how the international central bankers control the U.S. government.

“The Earth can’t take 6.5 billion people. We just can’t feed that many. So what are you going to do? Kill as many as you can. We have to develop a science that kills them and makes it look as though they died from some disease,” Farrakhan said, adding that many wise people won’t take the vaccine,” reports United Press International on Oct. 19, 2009.

“The black community has become toxic and must cleanse and restore peace from within,” Farrakhan added.

As we have documented previously, the use of vaccines to sterilize minority populations and induce abortions is on the record.

In the following video clips,women of the Akha tribe who live predominately in Thailand, describe how they miscarried shortly after taking vaccines when they were eight months pregnant. The videos below highlight the efforts of supporters of the Akha tribe to get answers from the University of Oregon and the United Nations, who provided funding for the vaccination and sterilization programs.

Continuing on the theme of population reduction, Farrakhan claimed that prostate cancer was a tool of such a conspiracy, because it is abnormally prevalent amongst black men. He attacked pharmaceutical companies for making vast profits from disease.

“After you take a pill to fix this, you have to take a pill to fix that,” he said. ‘Who’s getting rich off of us getting sick?’”

Farrakhan also warned black people not to be pacified by the false belief that President Obama represented them.

“You have to understand that he was voted in to take on the affairs of a nation, not yours and mine. He is the American president, not the black president,” he said.

So long as Farrakhan continues to cause division along racial lines, he can easily be dismissed and sidelined as a crank by the establishment. However, if he ever has a change of heart and becomes a true uniter of all colors and creeds against the new world order then that’s the point at which he’ll meet the same consequence as Martin Luther King.

Many of Farrakhan’s controversial views are certainly not shared by the vast majority of the freedom/patriot movement, but it cannot be denied that he has rhetorically stood up to the powers that be on many occasions, as the clip below illustrates.

It’s another pitiful example revealing that the Tea Party movement is being played. Drew Zahn, reporting for WorldNetDaily, covers protesters around the country this past weekend “challenging the mainstream media to drop a perceived news bias and give fair coverage to the growing movement against Obama administration policies.”

Supporters of Fox News and Glenn Beck’s 9-12 movement accused the media in general of biased reporting on Big Government issues like health care reform and stimulus spending, according to Zahn. They carried signs reading “State Run Media,” “Take the Left From Your Slant,” and “Journalism Malpractice – Just Report the Facts.”

They went after CNN, ABC, MSNBC, local news media and newspapers. Fox News was not included in the protest.

Infowars and Prison Planet have noted on numerous occasions that CNN is a branch office of the Pentagon and the Pentagon is hardly a liberal or leftist organization. The death merchant General Electric owns NBC. GE and Microsoft, the software corporation founded by the eugenicist Bill Gates, jointly own MSNBC. Mega-transnational corporation Westinghouse — also dedicated to the death merchant business — owns CBS. ABC, owned by Disney, gave $640,000 to the neocons and Bush election campaign.

Large transnational corporations are not liberal or leftist and do not subscribe to socialism or Marxism, as the protesters claim. However, they do subscribe to big government, so long as they are part of the arrangement.

Obamacare is not about socialism. It’s about mega-corporations gaining market share at gunpoint. The Baucus version of Obamacare was written by a senior aide, Liz Fowler, a former VP for Public Policy and External Affairs at WellPoint, a health insurance company which is the largest member of Blue Cross and Blue Shield.

According to Rep. Dennis Kucinich from Ohio, the uproar over private versus public health insurance options is really a ruse to cover up a proposal for taxpayer-funded subsidies that will be paid to the billion-dollar private insurance industry.

It would seem the protesters are locked in a Fox News generated voodoo trance. Obama administration policies are not significantly different than those of the Bush administration. Goldman Sachs and the banksters controlled the Bush administration the same way they now control the Obama administration.

Henry Paulson, Bush’s Treasury Secretary, was the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Goldman Sachs. Bush’s chief of staff, Josh Bolten, and the chairman of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, Jeffery Reuben, were Goldman operatives. Stephen Friedman, who briefly headed the White House National Economic Council, came from Goldman and then went back. Goldman hired Robert Zoellick, who stepped down as the US deputy secretary of state, and Faryar Shirzad, who worked as one of Bush’s national security advisers.

The 9-12 and hijacked Tea Party movements demand an end to Big Government schemes. Case in point, Obama’s “stimulus” boondoggle. If you read between the lines you will soon discover this scheme has nothing to do with socialism, Marxism, or mitigating the effects of the bankster engineered depression on the average person. It’s all about enriching the bankers and corporations at the expense of blindsided plebs.

It’s about expanding the national debt. “The Obama administration economic stimulus package is going to force the Treasury to borrow approximately $2.5 trillion in 2009 and another $4 trillion in 2010, with the result of increasing the current $10 trillion national debt by 65 percent in just two years,” writes Jerome Corsi. “If the Obama administration increases the national debt by 65 percent every two years, the debt will be $16.5 trillion in 2010 and $27.225 trillion by 2012, the year of the next presidential election.”

George Bush increased the national debt by more than $4 trillion during his reign, the largest increase in U.S. history. On the day Bush took office, the national debt stood at $5.727 trillion and by the time he exited it had ballooned to more than $9.849 trillion, a 71.9 percent increase.

In the video above, you will see no placards calling George Bush a Marxist.

How does Congress pay for a stimulus that stimulates nothing except astronomical debt into perpetuity? It turns to the Federal Reserve. The banksters who own the Fed loan the money to the government with interest. The money does not exist. It is created out of thin air and entered as numbers in computers by the banksters and then loaned to the government. Interest on the debt now stands at more than $12 trillion. That’s more than $1.2 billion per day.

So long as protesters and activists engage in silly theatrics — calling the Pentagon’s disinfo operation and Obama’s Goldman Sachs operatives Marxist — the cancer will continue to metastasize and eventually destroy the country.

Instead of yelling at NBC talking heads at 30 Rockefeller Plaza in New York, they need to protest at David Rockefeller’s address and that of his fellow banksters at Goldman Sachs and JP Morgan.

They also need to stop taking marching orders from Glenn Beck and Fox News.

Glenn Beck continues his false right-left shell game in the video clip here. He spotlights a speech by Anita Dunn, the interim White House Communications Director, who says Mao is her favorite political philosopher. Glenn Beck feigns outrage and tells us Obama is surrounded by progressive radicals. His now infamous chalkboard contains photos of Mao, Stalin, Dunn, and the Soviet hammer and sickle.

Beck’s diatribe comes a few days after Dunn issued a denunciation of Fox News on  CNN. She said Fox is a “vehicle for Republican Party propaganda and an ideological opponent of the president.” She accused Fox of operating “as either the research arm or the communications arm of the Republican Party. And it is not ideological… what I think is fair to say about Fox, and the way we view it, is that it is more of a wing of the Republican Party.”

Beck and Dunn are playing a diversionary game. Fox’s owner, Rupert Murdoch, courted Democrat Hillary Clinton and backed her run for president. CNN enthusiastically covered Republican Bush’s murderous invasion of Iraq and refused to allow equal time for those opposed to the carnage. CNN has maintained a close relationship with the Pentagon and the non-partisan war and mass murder machine, as Alexander Cockburn has noted. Beyond the phony partisan theatrics, there is not a lick of difference between the two disinformation and propaganda outlets. Both are disinfo mills for the New World Order.

Beck wants you to believe the people surrounding Obama are communists. That’s why he has the Soviet symbol on his blackboard. In fact, the people surrounding Obama — not minor and peripheral figures like Anita Dunn — are bankster operatives, members of the Council on Foreign Relations, the Trilateral Commission, and the Bilderberg Group. The really important figures behind Obama are one-world globalists who admire the sort of authoritarianism put into practice by Mao.

Tim Geithner, Susan Rice, Gen. James L. Jones, Paul Volker, Richard Haass, Richard Holbrooke, and Dennis Ross — these are members of the Trilats, the CFR, and the Bilderberg Group. Volker and Geithner are former Federal Reserve operatives. Sec. State Clinton is married to a high-level Bilderberger and Trilateral Commission member. She has attended Bilderberg meetings. Geithner cut his teeth at Kissinger Associates.

Henry Kissinger has spoken fondly of Obama. So has Rockefeller operative Zbigniew Brzezinski. Kissinger was the first diplomat to visit Communist China. A few years before Kissinger met with Mao Zedong, the Chinese dictator launched the Cultural Revolution and had 30 million people killed. Kissinger, a world-class war criminal, was in good company.

Why didn’t Beck mention Kissinger in his diatribe about China and Mao? He didn’t dare. Glenn Beck knows who the boss is — the global elite and a coterie of international bankers. It’s easier and far more safe to pick on a crop of puny socialists and academic dreamers with hangovers from the 1960s.

The banksters loved Mao because he represented the sort of government they cherish – a brutal dictatorship ready to slaughter millions at the drop of a hat.

“Whatever the price of the Chinese Revolution, it has obviously succeeded not only in producing more efficient and dedicated administration, but also in fostering high morale and community of purpose,” declared David Rockefeller. “The social experiment in China under Chairman Mao’s leadership is one of the most important and successful in human history.”

China’s “social experiment” includes the murder of nearly 80 million people, a vast political prison system, the brutal repression in Tian’anmen Square (between 6,000 – 10,000 killed), the systematic murder of political prisoners for their internal organs, and a sprawling slave labor complex cranking out manufactured goods.

“Communism or more accurately, socialism, is not a movement of the downtrodden masses, but of the economic elite,” wrote the late Gary Allen. “If one understands that socialism is not a share-the-wealth program, but is in reality a method to consolidate and control the wealth, then the seeming paradox of super-rich men promoting socialism becomes no paradox at all. Instead, it becomes logical, even the perfect tool of power-seeking megalomaniacs.”

Behind the flaccid rhetoric of Glenn Beck with his blackboard of academics and low-level Obama bureaucrats stands the power-seeking megalomaniacs who own lock, stock, and barrel the government and the corporate Mockingbird media. The elite use media to divert serious discussion and activism into a dead end circus side show of Republican vs. Democrat, progressive vs. neocon, ad nauseam.

Beck’s show is instructional for members of the 9-12 movement, specifically designed to foster hatred of Democrats and “socialists” who in fact work for the same bankers Beck does. Most people following Beck’s 9-12 have their hearts in the right place. It’s too bad they are following the Pied Piper of the global elite.

ACORN and Anita Dunn, while despicable, are warts on the backside of a Tyrannosaurus rex. It’s Beck’s job to keep us focused on the small stuff while the beast continues its quest to enslave the entire world and turn it into a prison planet based on the very slave plantation Beck criticizes.

After watching the television coverage of the Roman Polanski arrest in Switzerland, I have been amazed by the tolerance the mainline media has shown for the director’s conviction for raping a 13-year-old girl in the U.S. in 1977. It is as if the act and conviction of the ‘great’ director was not really that big of a deal. After all, isn’t it more important that he produced many highly acclaimed films and that he is among the high society elite? Surely these facts make up for this despicable act which was indeed heinous and at that time deserved the stiffest of punishments. And, although the victim has now nobly forgiven her aggressor, nothing can ever replace her innocence, which once lost can never be regained.

What bothers me most about the whole situation is that any other regular citizen accused of the same action would be characterized as the most vile, foul person on the earth, deserving of being put away for life. It is this hypocrisy and disdain for any semblance for the rule of law that irks me to no end. The Founders of this great nation realized that the rule of law was crucial to the maintenance of the republic. They understood that we would lose our freedom at the very moment we permitted a privileged class to define their own set of rules while imposing a different set of rules upon commoners.

It was with this information in mind that I read about another elitist that has escaped justice and even boasted of his sexual exploits with young boys. He is none other than the nephew of the late Socialist French president Francois Mitterand. His name is Frederic Mitterrand and he is France’s current culture minister. One only has to wonder what type of “culture” this child rapist is promoting to his fellow Frenchmen.

In his 2005 autobiography entitled “The Bad Life,” Mr. Mitterand wrote: “I got into the habit of paying for boys… All these rituals of the market for youths, the slave market excite me enormously.”

He added: “One could judge this abominable spectacle from a moral standpoint but it pleases me beyond the reasonable.”

And finally: “The profusion of very attractive and immediately available young boys puts me in a state of desire that I no longer need to hinder nor hide… as I know that I will not be refused.”

How could such a man have escaped justice much less become a member of President Sarkozy’s cabinet? It was only in June that he joined the cabinet and “was considered a great catch for Mr. Sarkozy and proof of his ‘open’ style of government; the minister comes from a grand Socialist family and is admired by many in the Left-wing cultural establishment. Carla Bruni-Sarkozy, the first lady, was said to have had a hand in his nomination.” (1)

What respect does this man deserve especially among the “cultural establishment”? Clearly, his cultural preferences are despicable. The rule of law would dictate that he be prosecuted for his crime at the victim’s discretion. Any Frenchmen with a sense of preserving their liberty should demand he be subject to the same punishment they themselves would be. Have we really reached a point where the common man is judged to a different standard than the cultural and political elite? Can a civilized society exist where the prosecution for rape occurs on the one hand but not on the other?

I am perplexed about how France could have degraded to such an extent that the protection of innocent children is no longer viewed as sacrosanct. Indeed, the most important responsibility of any government should be to protect the minority from the tyranny of the majority. What more important and defenseless minority do we have than our children? It is their right to freedom from coercion and manipulation, especially into sexual acts by an adult majority, which should be guarded most vociferously.

To top it all off, guess who has been the most ardent defender of Roman Polanski? Why, none other than Mr. Mitterrand. He called Mr. Polanski’s latest ordeal “callous” and “absolutely horrifying.” No, Mr. Mitterand, you and Mr. Polanski are what I would call “absolutely horrifying.” Indeed, you expect that your actions should be judged by a different standard of whether you were able to get away with it or not. Only an elitist such as yourself would expect such a standard. As you put it, “I no longer need to hinder nor hide…as I know that I will not be refused.” Since when in our society has the rules of our behavior been judged by whether we were refused or not? Clearly, for Mr. Mitterand and among many of the elites, this is so. Would we be afforded the same leniency? I sincerely doubt it.

The revelations in his 2005 autobiography “The Bad Life” have come back to haunt Mr Mitterrand after he emerged as one of the most vociferous defenders of Roman Polanski, the film director currently detained in Switzerland in connection with an outstanding conviction for unlawful sexual intercourse with a 13-year-old girl in the US in 1977.

In his book, Mr Mitterrand, the nephew of the late Socialist president François Mitterrand, wrote: “I got into the habit of paying for boys...All these rituals of the market for youths, the slave market excite me enormously.

“One could judge this abominable spectacle from a moral standpoint but it pleases me beyond the reasonable.”

Curiously, there was little outcry when the book was published in 2005. However, Mr Mitterrand’s tastes were brought to the fore on Monday by Marine Le Pen, daughter of the far-right National Front leader, Jean-Marie Le Pen, on a political chat show.

Miss Le Pen read out a passage in which Mr Mitterrand wrote: “The profusion of very attractive and immediately available young boys puts me in a state of desire that I no longer need to hinder nor hide...as I know that I will not be refused.”

Her call for his resignation has become an internet hit.

On Tuesday, the opposition Socialists joined the chorus of outrage. Benoît Hamon, the party spokesman, said: “As a minister of culture he has drawn attention to himself by defending a film maker and he has written a book where he said he took advantage of sexual tourism. To say the least, I find it shocking.”

Mr Mitterrand responded on Tuesday by saying he was “flabbergasted”.

“If the National Front drag me through the mud then it is an honour for me.

“If a leftist politician drags me through the mud then it is a humiliation for him,” he added.

Xavier Bertrand, the head of Mr Sarkozy’s right-wing UMP party, defended Mr Mitterrand. “The Socialists are now on the same ground as the extreme right, it’s incredible. One is not obliged to use private life for political ends,” he said.

Mr Mitterrand, who joined the cabinet in June, was considered a great catch for Mr Sarkozy and proof of his “open” style of government; the minister comes from a grand Socialist family and is admired by many in the Left-wing cultural establishment. Carla Bruni-Sarkozy, the first lady, was said to have had a hand in his nomination.

Politicians from across the spectrum criticised his vitriolic attack on the arrest of Mr Polanski, a French citizen who US authorities wish to extradite over his 1977 conviction. Mr Mitterrand initially described the pursuit of the director as “callous” and “absolutely horrifying”, but then toned down his criticism.

Mr Mitterand appeared on French national television to defend himself, claiming that when he boasted of paying "boys" for sex, he in fact meant adults.

"I condemn sexual tourism, which is a disgrace. I condemn paedophilia, which I have never in any way participated in," the 62-year-old nephew of François Mitterrand, the late Socialist president, said in an interview on TF1 television.

The exploits described in the book came back to haunt him earlier this week, after he provoked criticism by jumping to the defence of Roman Polanski, the film director currently detained in Switzerland in connection with an outstanding conviction for unlawful sexual intercourse with a 13-year-old girl in the US in 1977.

On Thursday, Mitterrand said that the book was not a strict autobiography. He admitted to "errors" in paying for sex in the past, but said he had relations only with consenting men his age.

"A mistake certainly, a crime no, nor a fault because each time I was with people of my age, [or] who were five years older than me. There was never the slightest ambiguity - and they were consenting."

Earlier on Thursday, Nicolas Sarkozy backed his embattled culture minister, with the French president's spokesman dismissing criticism of Mr Mitterrand as "pathetic".

Robert Reich, Clinton’s Secretary of Labor and avid Obama supporter, wants to deny health care to old folks. They’re too expensive. He also told an audience in 2007 that most people will not live longer than their parents. Again, too expensive. He wants to force medical technology corporations to stop developing new life-saving technology.

Reich, of course, supports the so-called “public option,” the government’s take-over of the health care industry. In order to push the Obamacare scam, Reich proposed a march on Washington by the liberals to demand the public option. He wanted to do this on Grandparents Day, September 13.

Reich wanted people to march in favor of a plan that would mandate old people die on a day set aside for old people. You can’t make this stuff up.

Mr. Reich’s pronouncement is yet another confirmation that the government wants to kill old people who are after all — according to our eugenicist rulers — nothing if not useless eaters.

Democrats and liberals went ballistic when Sarah Palin mentioned the fact that the government wants to use the “level of productivity in society” as the basis for determining access to medical care. This Darwinian and Malthusian concept is supported by Dr. Ezekial Emanuel, brother of Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel and White House health care policy adviser.

Emanuel does not use the term “death panels” and the term does not appear in the Obamacare bill. That would be political suicide. Instead he argues in favor of “The Complete Lives System,” a system that “produces a priority curve on which individuals aged between roughly 15 and 40 years get the most chance, whereas the youngest and oldest people get chances that are attenuated.”

In 1996, Emanuel said health care should be rationed for those who are not “participating citizens,” that is to say the old, the infirm, and those suffering from irreversible medical conditions.

As a good liberal, Emanuel would like to avoid the perception that he proposes killing old people simply because they are old — that would be “ageist” — and instead argues that they have used up their “life-years” and basically need to get out of the way and stop using up precious medical resources.

Robert Reich reduces the academic gobbledygook of Emanuel’s “Complete Lives System” down to language the average person can understand. In the above video, he spells it out — the government will intervene in medical decisions made by you and your family. Grand daddy is a burden on society and has nothing left to contribute because he no longer works and pays half or more of his income to the government in the form of confiscatory taxes.

The sad and frightening thing is, when Reich told the audience they will have to die, they applauded.

In a world where war criminals like Tony Blair are rewarded and those that oppose war criminals, like the Iraqi shoe thrower Muntadhar al-Zeidi, are imprisoned and tortured, it comes as no surprise that another war criminal – Barack H. Obama – has been rewarded for his stoic service to imperial bloodletting with the Nobel Peace Prize.

The man who gallantly promised “change” from the Bush regime’s illegal wars and a return to diplomacy over belligerency in dealing with Iran, has perpetuated the illegal wars in Afghanistan and Iraq while expanding another in Pakistan and becoming belligerent towards Iran.

How in anyone’s mind can such behavior constitute a move towards peace?

Obama has done nothing to dismantle the sprawling network of well over 700 U.S. military bases all over the world.

Instead of coming to an understanding with Iran over their nuclear power program, Obama gleefully read from his trusty teleprompter and crafted the hoax that the Iranian nuclear facility at Qom was an evil secret that the Iranians had kept hidden from America as part of a clandestine agenda to build nuclear weapons. In reality, Iran had followed precisely the guidelines set out by the IAEA on when to report the facility and the U.S. had known about it for several years anyway.

Obama’s slick propaganda in expressing his shock at the “discovery” of the plant was worthy of an Oscar but not a Nobel Peace Prize, since the scam has increased the likelihood of sanctions on Iran that will only accelerate the path to war.

By dutifully playing his part in this contrived hoax, Obama was mimicking the tactics of how George W. Bush sold the attack on Iraq.

As Paul Craig Roberts wrote, “By accusing Iran of having a secret “nuclear weapons program” and demanding that Iran “come clean” about the nonexistent program, adding that he does not rule out a military attack on Iran, Obama mimics the discredited Bush regime’s use of nonexistent Iraqi “weapons of mass destruction” to set up Iraq for invasion.”

The fact that Obama launched himself into the role of war hawk in an effort to propagandize for belligerency towards Iran completely discredits the claim by Nobel Committee chairman Thorbjoern Jagland that Obama “Has been a key person for important initiatives in the U.N. for nuclear disarmament and to set a completely new agenda for the Muslim world and East-West relations.”

Obama’s acting skills in front of a teleprompter and his slick rhetoric about peace and diplomacy may look good on the surface, but the reality of what he has actually done to further the PNAC agenda for endless war underlines why the award of the Peace Prize is a sick joke.

If Obama intended to bring peace to the world, then why were his early appointments mostly neo-liberal war hawks who have a history of backing military adventurism?

If Obama is such a huge peacenik, then why has he sent 21,000 more troops to Afghanistan already, with tens of thousands more at least on the way?

If Obama plans to pull U.S. troops out of Iraq and bring peace to the region, then why has he gone back on his promise and ensured that tens of thousands of U.S. troops will remain in the country?

If Obama is so deserving of being recognized for his efforts towards peace, then why has he intensified the Bush-era missile drone attacks in Afghanistan and Pakistan that have killed and injured countless innocent civilians?

If Obama is so interested in promoting peace, then why does he protect war criminals who have violated the Geneva Conventions from prosecution?

Beyond the meaningless platitudes served up by his fellow elitist snobs, the true hilarity of Obama receiving the prize was illustrated by just a couple of individuals who the corporate media dared to quote.

Issam al-Khazraji, a day laborer in Baghdad, told Reuters: “He doesn’t deserve this prize. All these problems — Iraq, Afghanistan — have not been solved…The man of ‘change’ hasn’t changed anything yet.”

“Liaqat Baluch, a senior leader of the Jamaat-e-Islami, a conservative religious party in Pakistan, called the award an embarrassing “joke.”

“By implementing his war continuation plan, Obama will complete the work of Bush and his militarist clique,” writes author Chris Floyd, and in doing so send, “an apparently endless stream of American troops to die — and, in even greater numbers, to kill — in a criminal action that has helped bankrupt our own country while sending waves of violent instability and extremism around the world. It will further enfilth a cesspool of corruption and war profiteering that has already reached staggering, world-historical proportions.”

Floyd encapsulates perfectly why Obama’s Nobel Peace Prize award is a disgusting farce, an insult to those who really are fighting for peace in the world, and just another reminder that the Nobel Peace Prize represents little more than a gaggle of back-slapping elitists who bestow awards upon each other so that they can pose as global saviors to the public when in reality they are mostly a bunch of crooks, con-artists and deceivers.

Geithner’s Appointment Book: Taking Orders from the International Bankers

Timothy Geithner, Treasury Secretary, always takes calls from his bankster bosses on Wall Street, according to an Associated Press report.

“Even during his most frenzied days, when Congress is demanding answers or the president himself is calling, Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner makes time to talk to a select group of powerful Wall Street bankers,” write Matt Apuzzo and Daniel Wagner. “When they call, Geithner answers. He has spoken with them immediately after hanging up with President Barack Obama and before heading up to Capitol Hill, between phone calls with senators and after talking with the Federal Reserve chairman.”

AP obtained Geithner’s appointment calendars through a FOIA request. The calendars reveal what readers of Infowars already knew — Geithner and the Treasury Department take orders from Citigroup Inc., JPMorgan Chase & Co. and Goldman Sachs Group Inc.

Geithner is a consummate Wall Street insider. He was the president of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. He was a Senior Fellow in the International Economics department of the Council on Foreign Relations, a member of the Group of Thirty (a Rockefeller operation), worked for Kissinger Associates, and is a member of the Trilateral Commission. Lawrence Summers was his mentor. He is a Robert Rubin protégé. Rubin, Clinton’s Treasury Secretary, was Chairman of Citigroup. Summers, also a Clinton Treasury Secretary, was Chief Economist for the World Bank and was tapped by Obama to be the director of the White House National Economic Council. Geithner also sits on the board of the Bank for International Settlements, the mega-globalist outfit that enjoys immunity from virtually all regulation, scrutiny and accountability.

“Geithner had more contacts with Citigroup than he did with Rep. Barney Frank, D-Mass., the lawmaker leading the effort to approve Geithner’s overhaul of the financial system. Geithner’s contacts with [Lloyd Blankfein, CEO of Goldman Sachs] alone outnumber his contacts with Sen. Christopher Dodd, D-Conn., chairman of the Senate Banking Committee.”

But of course. Goldman Sachs is the Grand Bubble Machine of the globalists and the banksters. “Goldman Sachs has played a crucial role in creating every market bubble since the 1920s — and has profited from not only the bubbles, but from the crash that followed as well,” writes Daniel Tencer. “Goldman was central to creating are the Wall Street stock bubble in the 1920s, which led to the Great Depression; the tech-stock bubble of the late 1990s, which ended in the 2001 recession; the housing bubble of the past decade, which resulted in the current economic crisis; the oil price run-up last summer, when oil shot up to $140 a barrel, likely helping tilt the entire world into recession.”

Goldman stacked the Bush and Obama administrations with minions in order to profit from the bankster bailout. It is the motivating force behind the cap-and-trade swindle now taking form. “Goldman started pushing hard for cap-and-trade long ago, but things really ramped up last year when the firm spent $3.5 million to lobby climate issues,” writes Matt Taibbi for Rolling Stone.

The Federal Reserve, a wholly owned subsidiary of Goldman Sachs and the international bankers, is the primary instrument for creating so-called bubbles and economic depressions. “Using a central bank to create alternate periods of inflation and deflation, and thus whipsawing the public for vast profits, had been worked out by the international bankers to an exact science,” writes the late Gary Allen. “Having built the Federal Reserve as a tool to consolidate and control wealth, the international bankers were now ready to make a major killing. Between 1923 and 1929, the Federal Reserve expanded (inflated) the money supply by sixty-two percent. Much of this new money was used to bid the stock market up to dizzying heights.”

“It [the depression] was not accidental. It was a carefully contrived occurrence… The international bankers sought to bring about a condition of despair here so that they might emerge as the rulers of us all,” declared Louis McFadden, Chairman of the House Banking and Currency Committee in the 1930s.

But you wouldn’t know this if all you read is the Associated Press. “There is nothing inherently wrong with senior Treasury Department officials speaking regularly with industry executives, or even with the secretary keeping tabs on the market’s biggest players, even though critics say Geithner risks succumbing too much to these bankers’ self-interested worldview.”

Succumbing? Timothy Geithner is instrumental to the bankster scam. He is a key player in a long-running bankster plot specifically designed to “reign supreme over everyone, everywhere, as one whole super-national control mechanism,” as Montagu Norman of the Bank of England wrote in 1942.

How disgusting. Code Pink supports the mass murder of Afghans. Murder is apparently fine with Code Pink co-founder Medea Benjamin if it results in women’s rights.

Code Pink co-founder Medea Benjamin gets manhandled at a McCain-Palin event last year. Now that Obama’s in the White House, she supports killing Afghan babies.

“We have been feeling a sense of fear of the people of the return of the Taliban. So many people are saying that, ‘If the US troops left the country, would collapse. We’d go into civil war.’ A palpable sense of fear that is making us start to reconsider that,” Benjamin told The Christian Science Monitor.

“The apparent shift in policy comes in the wake of a week-long trip to Afghanistan by Code Pink members, where activists were surprised to find a lot of support among women’s rights activists for maintaining the US and NATO presence in the country,” writes Daniel Tencer for Raw Story:

Some observers have been pointing out for years that the Western troop presence in Afghanistan is the principal reason that women in the country are now able to get an education, and that there is now at least a modicum of gender equality in Afghanistan. Many observers fear that the withdrawal of troops could allow the return of severe discrepancies between women’s rights and men’s rights in Afghanistan, as well as widespread violence against women.

But here’s what Tencer, Benjamin, and corporate media are not telling you — the Taliban was created by Pakistan’s ISI and the CIA in 1994 with Saudi money.

Phil Gasper explains:

The U.S. government was well aware of the Taliban’s reactionary program, yet it chose to back their rise to power in the mid-1990s. The creation of the Taliban was “actively encouraged by the ISI and the CIA,” according to Selig Harrison, an expert on U.S. relations with Asia. “The United States encouraged Saudi Arabia and Pakistan to support the Taliban, certainly right up to their advance on Kabul,” adds respected journalist Ahmed Rashid. When the Taliban took power, State Department spokesperson Glyn Davies said that he saw “nothing objectionable” in the Taliban’s plans to impose strict Islamic law, and Senator Hank Brown, chair of the Senate Foreign Relations Subcommittee on the Near East and South Asia, welcomed the new regime: “The good part of what has happened is that one of the factions at last seems capable of developing a new government in Afghanistan.” “The Taliban will probably develop like the Saudis. There will be Aramco [the consortium of oil companies that controlled Saudi oil], pipelines, an emir, no parliament and lots of Sharia law. We can live with that,” said another U.S. diplomat in 1997.

“I think [the Taliban] was part of your past and our past, and the ISI and CIA created them together,” Pakistan president Asif Ali Zardari told NBC during an interview in May.

The Taliban is a custom-made enemy along with al-Qaeda designed to keep the GWOT rolling for the merchants of death — the corporate media likes to call them the “defense industry” — and as an excuse to invade small countries in the Middle East, south central Asia, and now Africa.

Prior to Code Pink, Medea Benjamin set-up Global Exchange, an “anti-globalization” organization that took money from globalist foundations, including the Ford Foundation, John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation, Rubin Foundation, and Tides Foundation.

As noted by journalist Bob Feldman, these foundations are connected to the CIA, the Council on Foreign Relations, and the Trilateral Commission. “Are the interests of the people being served by ‘dissidents’ who are being subsidized by the agencies of the ruling class whom they should be exposing? What does this say about the motivations behind the Left establishment’s ideological warfare against conspiracy researchers, and their adoption of an increasingly watered-down analytical view which fails to look closely at the inner power structures and conspiracies of the ruling elite?” writes Feldman.

Somebody needs to ask Benjamin how one fights against globalization when you receive money from multinational corporations and banksters. The Tides Foundation gets its money from AT&T, ChevronTexaco, the Rockefeller Foundation, the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, Verizon, and Bill and Melinda Gates.

“The Ford Foundation’s history of collaboration and interlock with the CIA in pursuit of U.S. world hegemony is now a well-documented fact. The remaining issue is whether that relationship continues into the new Millenium after the exposures of the 1960s?” muses James Petras.

Petra says the Ford Foundation has refined its style of collaboration and cultural domination over the years. However, with Medea Benjamin’s statement in support of the “mission” of NATO and the U.S. in Afghanistan this refinement is certainly called into question.

Benjamin’s outrageous statement is simply more evidence the so-called anti-war left is a sham and a tool of the global elite. Benjamin and her pliable cohorts are to be used only when Republicans are in office. Now that Democrat Obama is warming a seat in the Oval Office, it is time for the fake opposition to support more mass murder and military expenditures, the same as liberals did when Bill Clinton conducted his illegal and immoral bombing of Serbia.

If the dollar collapses, it would spell economic disaster not just for the United States, but for the world, says Gerald Celente, director of the Trade Research Institute.

“It is more than just the demise of the dollar – this is going to be felt worldwide. There’s a major financial crisis ahead. The United States, the world’s superpower, is failing on its most basic level,” Celente told RT.

And the reason for the future demise of the American currency, Celente says, is the disproportionate financial system:

“We can’t print money out of thin air, backed by nothing and producing practically nothing.”

The researcher believes the crisis of the dollar is irreversible, since America is losing its gold – the value of its currency.

In the most profound financial change in recent Middle East history, Gulf Arabs are planning – along with China, Russia, Japan and France – to end dollar dealings for oil, moving instead to a basket of currencies including the Japanese yen and Chinese yuan, the euro, gold and a new, unified currency planned for nations in the Gulf Co-operation Council, including Saudi Arabia, Abu Dhabi, Kuwait and Qatar.

Secret meetings have already been held by finance ministers and central bank governors in Russia, China, Japan and Brazil to work on the scheme, which will mean that oil will no longer be priced in dollars.

The plans, confirmed to The Independent by both Gulf Arab and Chinese banking sources in Hong Kong, may help to explain the sudden rise in gold prices, but it also augurs an extraordinary transition from dollar markets within nine years

The Americans, who are aware the meetings have taken place – although they have not discovered the details – are sure to fight this international cabal which will include hitherto loyal allies Japan and the Gulf Arabs. Against the background to these currency meetings, Sun Bigan, China's former special envoy to the Middle East, has warned there is a risk of deepening divisions between China and the US over influence and oil in the Middle East. "Bilateral quarrels and clashes are unavoidable," he told the Asia and Africa Review. "We cannot lower vigilance against hostility in the Middle East over energy interests and security."

This sounds like a dangerous prediction of a future economic war between the US and China over Middle East oil – yet again turning the region's conflicts into a battle for great power supremacy. China uses more oil incrementally than the US because its growth is less energy efficient. The transitional currency in the move away from dollars, according to Chinese banking sources, may well be gold. An indication of the huge amounts involved can be gained from the wealth of Abu Dhabi, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Qatar who together hold an estimated $2.1 trillion in dollar reserves.

The decline of American economic power linked to the current global recession was implicitly acknowledged by the World Bank president Robert Zoellick. "One of the legacies of this crisis may be a recognition of changed economic power relations," he said in Istanbul ahead of meetings this week of the IMF and World Bank. But it is China's extraordinary new financial power – along with past anger among oil-producing and oil-consuming nations at America's power to interfere in the international financial system – which has prompted the latest discussions involving the Gulf states.

Brazil has shown interest in collaborating in non-dollar oil payments, along with India. Indeed, China appears to be the most enthusiastic of all the financial powers involved, not least because of its enormous trade with the Middle East.

China imports 60 per cent of its oil, much of it from the Middle East and Russia. The Chinese have oil production concessions in Iraq – blocked by the US until this year – and since 2008 have held an $8bn agreement with Iran to develop refining capacity and gas resources. China has oil deals in Sudan (where it has substituted for US interests) and has been negotiating for oil concessions with Libya, where all such contracts are joint ventures.

Furthermore, Chinese exports to the region now account for no fewer than 10 per cent of the imports of every country in the Middle East, including a huge range of products from cars to weapon systems, food, clothes, even dolls. In a clear sign of China's growing financial muscle, the president of the European Central Bank, Jean-Claude Trichet, yesterday pleaded with Beijing to let the yuan appreciate against a sliding dollar and, by extension, loosen China's reliance on US monetary policy, to help rebalance the world economy and ease upward pressure on the euro.

Ever since the Bretton Woods agreements – the accords after the Second World War which bequeathed the architecture for the modern international financial system – America's trading partners have been left to cope with the impact of Washington's control and, in more recent years, the hegemony of the dollar as the dominant global reserve currency.

The Chinese believe, for example, that the Americans persuaded Britain to stay out of the euro in order to prevent an earlier move away from the dollar. But Chinese banking sources say their discussions have gone too far to be blocked now. "The Russians will eventually bring in the rouble to the basket of currencies," a prominent Hong Kong broker told The Independent. "The Brits are stuck in the middle and will come into the euro. They have no choice because they won't be able to use the US dollar."

Chinese financial sources believe President Barack Obama is too busy fixing the US economy to concentrate on the extraordinary implications of the transition from the dollar in nine years' time. The current deadline for the currency transition is 2018.

The US discussed the trend briefly at the G20 summit in Pittsburgh; the Chinese Central Bank governor and other officials have been worrying aloud about the dollar for years. Their problem is that much of their national wealth is tied up in dollar assets.

"These plans will change the face of international financial transactions," one Chinese banker said. "America and Britain must be very worried. You will know how worried by the thunder of denials this news will generate."

Iran announced late last month that its foreign currency reserves would henceforth be held in euros rather than dollars. Bankers remember, of course, what happened to the last Middle East oil producer to sell its oil in euros rather than dollars. A few months after Saddam Hussein trumpeted his decision, the Americans and British invaded Iraq.

Doctors and hospitals are expressing concern that the FluMist vaccine could endanger people because it contains live H1N1 virus, unlike the injectable shot that contains antibodies. With no less than 60 per cent of the U.S. population immunodeficient in one way or another, could FluMist be a pandemic waiting to happen?

Hospitals in Colorado and elsewhere are shunning the FluMist H1N1 vaccine, a nasal spray that contains live swine flu virus, because of fears it could infect people with weakened immune systems and underlying health conditions.

“Several metro area hospitals said they won’t be taking the FluMist because they don’t want to endanger patients,” reports TheDenverChannel.com.

Lois VanFleet, infection prevention specialist at Exempla Good Samaritan Medical Center in Lafayette, expressed concern that doctors and nurses who inhaled the live virus could infect patients whose immune systems are compromised.

However, H1N1 FluMist is being rolled out nationwide from this week, including at “drive-through clinics” across the country where the nasal spray is administered while people sit in their cars with their window wide open (see top picture).

The live virus contained in the nasal spray is weakened but it can be transmitted from person to person for up to three weeks.

According to studies, “the odds of transmitting the virus after receiving the nasal spray are about 2.5 percent,” with children the most susceptible.

The nasal spray is being rolled out on a mass scale before the widespread introduction of the injectable vaccine. Some fear that the nasal spray will contribute to a wider pandemic, which will then provide governments with the crisis they need to make the injectable vaccine mandatory.

“This would accelerate the move to a state of emergency, cripple the US health care system, and would result in the “need” to have military, eventually UN troops, take control,” notes TheFluCase.com.

“Also, all public assemblies, including courts, would be prohibited, thereby satisfying a condition for the imposition of martial law, mass quarantines, and forced vaccinations for the rest of us.”

According to the Mayo Clinic, the swine flu scandal of 1976, when more people died from the vaccine than the actual virus,  was what caused the live virus to be removed from future vaccines. However, it is admitted that FluMist contains the live virus.

“It has been documented that the live viruses from the vaccine can be shed (and potentially spread into the community) from recipient children for up to 21 days, and even longer from adults. Viral shedding also puts breastfeeding infants at risk if the mother has been given FluMist,” writes Dr. Sherri Tenpenny, one of the most outspoken physicians in the country on the hazards of vaccines and vaccination.

FluMist’s own package insert reads as follows, “FluMist® recipients should avoid close contact with immunocompromised individuals for at least 21 days.”

“The warning is specifically directed toward those living in the same household with an immunocompromised person, but the on-going release of live viruses throughout the community may be a significant risk to everyone who has a weak, or weakened, immune system,” writes Tenpenny, pointing out that if one takes into account a plethora of health conditions that could be classified as contributing to immunodeficiency, as much as 60% of the entire population could be considered to be “chemically immunosuppressed.”

“An ever greater concern about FluMist is the contents within the vaccine. Each 0.5ml of the formula contains 10 6.5-7.5 particles of live, attenuated influenza virus. That means that between 10 million and 100 million viral particles will be forcefully injected into the nostrils when administered. The viral strain was developed by serial passage through “specific pathogen-free primary chick kidney cells” and then grown in “specific pathogen-free eggs.” That means that the culture media was free of pathogens that were specifically tested for, but not a culture that was necessarily “pathogen-free.” The risk that the vaccine may contain contaminant avian retroviruses still remains,” warns Tenpenny.

One of the pharmaceutical companies developing nasal spray vaccines is Baxter International, who were caught earlier this year releasing batches of vaccines from a lab in Austria that were contaminated live bird flu virus, otherwise known as H5N1.

The man was part of a group protesting at IMF involvement in Turkish politics.

Turkey, which is hosting the IMF and World Bank annual meetings, has been negotiating for a possible new loan from the fund.

The Recovery That Isn't

For those market boosters who are prattling on about the possibility of a "jobless recovery," I offer an invitation to join me for a breakfast of "fat-free bacon," "eggless omelets," and "no-carb bread." As unappetizing as such a meal may sound, it would nevertheless offer more substance than the oxymoronic concept of an economic resurgence without job creation.

Those who do cling to the absurd belief that, absent exponential productivity gains, the economy can expand while workers are being laid off will undergo a massive test of their convictions now that it's clear the employment picture is bleak. Today's weaker-than-expected report on non-farm payrolls revealed that employers shed 263,000 jobs in September. The losses propelled the headline unemployment rate to a 26-year high of 9.8%. U6, the Bureau of Labor Statistics' most complete measure of unemployment, has risen to a dismal 17%. This figure includes those people who want to work full time, but have simply given up looking, or who have accepted part-time work in the interim. As it is similar to the methodology used during the Great Depression, U6 offers better historical perspective on the severity of our current crisis.

Taken together with yesterday's larger-than-expected pickup in unemployment claims (first time claims rose by 17,000 to 551,000), today's report makes it certain that the job market is still contracting, even while some indicators like GDP and consumer confidence are moving in the opposite direction.

There is no question that the sense of panic has temporarily subsided. In recent interviews, Treasury Secretary Geithner has been almost giddy in his descriptions of the recovery – all the while crediting his own policies for averting disaster. Americans are once again taking the government's bait by spending money they don't have to buy things they can't afford. Evidence of this trend was contained in data released earlier this week which showed that even while income growth was largely stagnant, U.S. consumers showed the biggest month-over-month increase in personal spending in ten years! With the same report showing a 25% drop in the savings rate, the source of the spending money is clear. But depleting savings and increasing borrowing does not a recovery make.

To really recuperate, the government must allow market forces to restructure our economy. The government and individuals must rein in their spending; we must replenish our stock of savings, allow interest rates to rise, asset prices to adjust to economic reality, insolvent businesses to fail, and wages to reflect productivity. To accomplish these goals, subsidies that distort market forces must be removed and regulations that undermine our competitiveness must be repealed.

None of this can be accomplished without a degree of short-term economic pain. However, if we endure it, the payback will be a real recovery with plenty of new jobs that don't rely on government stimulus money. If we refuse to allow the economy to experience a real recession, we will never have the benefit of a real recovery. Instead, we get the "jobless recovery," a veneer of apparently positive indicators that merely obscures the underlying rot.

Over the last few decades, our industrial job market has atrophied while service- and public-sector jobs have grown unsustainably. We must restore balance. New jobs will have to come from areas that produce goods; bloated service and government sectors must be allowed to shrink. By propping up the sectors that need to contract, and running staggering budget deficits, the government cuts off the capital necessary to fund sectors that need to expand.

In truth, many of the service-sector jobs that exist today, such as real estate sales, mortgage finance, home improvement, and auto sales, were created in an environment of ever-increasing home equity, rising stock prices, and almost unlimited access to cheap consumer credit. With home equity gone, stock markets flat, and credit depleted, Americans find themselves needing to save rather than spend. But Washington has put through policies that have counteracted our good instincts.

While we were focusing our economy on consumer spending, much of the rest of the world was saving for the future. As such, we must begin to produce more for export, so that we can sell goods to those who have the savings to pay for them. That is the only way we can repay our debts, replenish our savings, repair our infrastructure, and rebuild our industrial base.

Another prerequisite to any real economic expansion is the potential for business owners to earn profits. With increased regulation and higher taxes on the way, these incentives are being diminished. In fact, via a phenomenon called "regime uncertainty," our current policy path is actually encouraging businesses to contract in order to prepare for a more hostile business environment.

Robust economies utilize all spare capacity, or restructure it for better use. Having 17% of our able-bodied population sitting at home or working part-time at Cinnabon indicates that our present policies are weakening the economy – even if GDP is growing. There is no "jobless recovery," only senseless cheerleading.

American Police Force Leader Exposed As Career Criminal As Hardin Patrols Labeled Unconstitutional

Founder of private paramilitary force patrolling Montana town exposed as a lifetime crook

The mystery surrounding the paramilitary force patrolling the streets of a town in Montana deepened last night after American Police Force founder “Captain” Michael Hilton was exposed as a career criminal and a convicted fraudster who has operated under numerous different aliases.

As we reported this week, Hardin Montana is currently being patrolled by a private organization completely outside the purview of the law as local authorities wait to seal a contract that will also see APF boss a $27 million dollar detention center located in the town.

APF’s founder, Michael Hilton, who ascribes himself the title “Captain” and speaks with an eastern European accent, has been at the center of the controversy after initially refusing to reveal his surname to reporters or even officials he was negotiating contracts with.

It has now emerged that “Michael Hilton” is merely the latest incarnation of a man previously known as Miodrag Dokovich, Michael Hamilton, Hristian Djokich and Michael Djokovich.

Hilton, who was born in the south-eastern European country Montenegro, is a “convicted felon with a number of aliases, a string of legal judgments against him, two bankruptcies and a decades-long reputation for deals gone bad,” according to an Associated Press report.

Hilton was sentenced to 6 years in jail in 1993 for “Such schemes you cannot believe,” according to Joseph Carella, an Orange County, Calif. doctor, namely a dozen counts of grand theft. Hilton has defrauded numerous different individuals to the tune of $1.1 million dollars over the past 20 years.

“Fraud cases include luring investors into a fake real estate development project, convincing a couple to give him a silver statue worth $100,000 dollars, and pocketing construction funds,” reports KURL 8 News.

Carella expressed his shock that authorities had even entertained Hilton’s proposal to have his paramilitary outfit take over the newly built detention camp while allowing his men to patrol the town.

“I didn’t even sleep last night because of the memories that it conjured up, he’s the reason I had to go bankrupt. I lost my practice, I had some mental issues because of this. He was using up other people’s money, mainly mine, and other people, like a Ponzi scheme,” said Carella.

Hilton’s claim to have advised forces in Iraq and Afghanistan also appears to be a lie, according to the AP.

Both Al Peterson, vice president of Hardin’s Two Rivers Authority, and Becky Shay, the former Billings Gazette reporter who first broke the story but was bizarrely lured to become APF’s spokesperson after she was given a brand new car and a massive pay raise, dismissed questions about Hilton’s criminal past.

Meanwhile, Livingstone State Representative Robert Ebinger told KURL 8 that APF may have violated article 2 section 33 of the Montana Constitution Titled Importation of Armed Persons, which states, “No armed person or persons or body of men shall be brought into the state for the presentation of the peace or the suppression of domestic violence unless the application of the legislature or of the governor when the legislature cannot be convened.”

“They talk about people being able to come in at a moments notice to put forces together and I think if we’re having statements like that made we should figure out who these people are what the deal is over there in Hardin,” said Ebinger.

The FBI refused to acknowledge that they were looking into APF’s occupation of Hardin but said they were aware of the situation.

Alex Jones will be on the ground reporting from Hardin Montana over the next two days to try and get to the bottom of the story and prevent what could be repeated across America, with at least 30 other towns and cities targeted for occupation by APF, if the paramilitary force is allowed to continue its business in Hardin.

The American Police Force is completely violating the Constitution and should be kicked out of the area immediately. No private organization, never mind a secretive paramilitary group headed up by a lifetime crook, should be allowed to conduct law enforcement duties in America.

In one odd twist, Becky Shay, a reporter for the Billings Gazette who has reported extensively on the Hardin Prison, quit her job and is now a spokeswoman for the group in Hardin. Except that she now mainly has "no comment" when pressed about what is going on.

Some other unusual wrinkles:

-- Mercedes SUVs belonging to APF began showing up recently in town with magnetic decals that said "City of Hardin Police Department." The decals were later removed.

-- APF, which has mentioned using the facility for military training, refuses to offer any specifics until after a contract to take over the prison is signed.

-- Albert Peterson, vice president of Hardin's tax-supported economic development arm that built the prison two years ago, says people will be "shocked" when they learn the high quality of the person who will run the operation, The Gazette reports. "I did my background checks and my homework, and they're legit," he said, but won't reveal the name.

--Peterson says APF hopes to begin filling the prison with inmates early next year, but neither he nor APF will say where the prisoners are coming from.

-- The Gazette quotes local officials as saying "they have reason to believe" that APF is a spinoff of a "much larger security company that has contracts around the world."

-- State Rep. Bob Ebinger has joined other lawmakers in seeking answers from Hardin officials about the unusual deal. "Always when things are secretive, you end up getting everybody — on both the right and the left — making suppositions about what's going on,"  Ebinger, a Democrat, tells the Great Falls Tribune.

--- KULR says APF's founder, Michael Hilton, has an extensive criminal record and has "spent six years in a California prison." The Missoulian says court records show he also uses the aliases Midrag Ilia Dokovitch, Midrag Ilia Dokovich and Michael Miodrag.

-- And, for what it's worth, the APF logo is almost identical to the symbol on the state flag of Serbia.

Update at 2:34 p.m. ET: Talking Points Memo reports that the city's economic development arm, apparently concerned about the publicity around whatever is going on, has posted this message on its website (click here to read it yourself):

We welcome anyone to visit our town! There are no commandos in the streets.There is no fence or gate being built around Hardin. People are free to come and go as they please. APF is not running our town or our police force.

Blackwater Claims APF Illegally Using Logos, Material

A caller to the Alex Jones Show today said that he called Blackwater, who told him that American Police Force were illegally using their material and logos and that they were considering taking legal action against the paramilitary organization currently conducting law enforcement duties in Hardin, Montana.

As we reported earlier, APF claims that it runs the U.S. Training Center, which is publicly controlled by Blackwater, now known as “Xe”.

Blackwater has distanced itself from APF, which is still refusing to divulge the name of its parent company.

Blackwater’s alleged consideration of legal action against APF spells more trouble for the organization after it was revealed last night that the organization’s leader, “Michael Hilton,” is a career criminal who has used numerous different aliases.

U.S. To Break Up Soon?

According to Macedonian Radio and Television On-line (MRT), a Russian professor predicts the United States will fall apart in July 2010. MRT reports, "'Mr. Obama is similar to the last Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev. Gorbachev was also making great promises for the Soviet Union, but the situation was only getting worse,' he said. By next summer, according to Professor Panarin, the US will disintegrate into six blocs--and everyone will get their piece. 'The probability that the United States of America fall apart in July 2010 is more than 50 percent,' said Igor Panarin, Professor at Moscow's Diplomatic Academy within the Russian Federation's Ministry of Foreign Affairs."

MRT went on to report, "Panarin came up with his grim forecast while analyzing the parallels between the Soviet Union in its final days and the current situation in the United States. 'American dream ballooned seven times in 11 years. During Gorbachev era, the Soviet dream ballooned five times.' Americans hope [President] Barack Obama 'can work miracles,' he wrote. 'But when spring comes, it will be clear that there are no miracles.'"

The Drudge Report confirmed the MRT report and added, "Professor Igor Panarin said in an interview with the respected daily IZVESTIA . . . 'The dollar is not secured by anything. The country's foreign debt has grown like an avalanche, even though in the early 1980s there was no debt. By 1998, when I first made my prediction, it had exceeded $2 trillion. Now it is more than 11 trillion. This is a pyramid that can only collapse.'"

At least some of what Panarin said back in the fall of 2008 either has taken place or is in the process of taking place. Drudge reported, "When asked when the U.S. economy would collapse, Panarin said: 'It is already collapsing. Due to the financial crisis, three of the largest and oldest five banks on Wall Street have already ceased to exist, and two are barely surviving. Their losses are the biggest in history. Now what we will see is a change in the regulatory system on a global financial scale: America will no longer be the world's financial regulator.'"

Drudge continued reporting Panarin as saying that "the U.S. will break up into six parts-- the Pacific coast, with its growing Chinese population; the South, with its Hispanics; Texas, where independence movements are on the rise; the Atlantic coast, with its distinct and separate mentality; five of the poorer central states with their large Native American populations; and the northern states, where the influence from Canada is strong."

Panarin further suggested that Russia might even "claim Alaska."

Reporting on the same story, The Wall Street Journal said, "Prof. Panarin, 50 years old, is not a fringe figure. A former KGB analyst, he is dean of the Russian Foreign Ministry's academy for future diplomats. He is invited to Kremlin receptions, lectures students, publishes books, and appears in the media as an expert on U.S.-Russian relations."

The WSJ goes on to say that Panarin believes that "mass immigration, economic decline, and moral degradation will trigger a civil war next fall and the collapse of the dollar."

This is not the first time that Comrade Panarin has made such a prediction. Joseph Farah, editor of World Net Daily, noted in December of 2008 that Panarin has been making similar projections for the past ten years. In a column regarding Panarin's predictions, Farah wrote, "Until recently, no one took him very seriously. And then came the economic calamity that has rocked Americans and the rest of the world, too. Now, Panarin's predictions of an end of the United States, due to economic and moral collapse, is being taken seriously by many."

So, will the United States break up in 2010? Or 2011? Or 2012? Or anytime in the near future, for that matter? If history is any teacher, the chances would seem good that Panarin's predictions may be closer to reality than anyone would like to admit.

A historian and linguist from South Africa recently wrote me a fascinating letter, in which he chronicled the major world empires of history, dating the time of their rise and fall. Here is what his calculations look like:

Assyria (859-612 B.C.): a 247-year reign.
Persia (538-330 B.C.): a 208-year reign.
Greece (331-100 B.C.): a 231-year reign.
The Roman Republic (260-27 B.C.): a 233-year reign.
The Roman Empire (27 B.C.-180 A.D.): a 207-year reign.
The Arab Empire (634-880 A.D.): a 246-year reign.
The Mameluke Empire (1250-1517 A.D.): a 267-year reign.
The Ottoman Empire (1320-1570 A.D.): a 250-year reign.
Spain (1500-1750 A.D.): a 250-year reign.
Romanov Russia (1682-1916 A.D.): a 234-year reign.
Great Britain (1700-1950 A.D.): a 250-year reign.
The USA (1790-2009 A.D.): 219 years and counting.

My honorable historian-friend calculates America's reign using its post-Revolutionary War years. He notes that America's reign is currently at 219 years. He further notes that the average duration of every world superpower listed above is a little over 238 years.

One does not need to be a master mathematician or possess a Ph.D. to realize that America is fast approaching the mark in which every major world power in history has either collapsed or, at a minimum, lost its world leadership and power.

My friend also reminded me of his homeland's (South Africa's) demise. He told me that he noticed the handwriting on the wall in time to relocate his family to a more peaceful and stable European country. Many of his friends and countrymen were not so fortunate, however, and thousands were killed and their properties confiscated. He then warned me, "The period of Grace is closing, in what is your homeland."

In addition, serious students of Holy Writ are also struck with the similarities between societal conditions in America and those of Old Testament Israel (as well as with Gentile nations) at those times of divine judgment and retribution. As someone trenchantly said, "If God spares the United States, He will have to apologize to Sodom and Gomorrah."

Will the Russian analyst's prophecies come true in 2010? Probably not. Does that mean that America is impervious to some sort of national demise? Not at all. Is America already in serious trouble? You bet. Could there be some sort of break-up within the United States in the near future? In my opinion, that is a very realistic probability. If this happens, will freedom suffer? Almost certainly. Will those with tyrannical tendencies use the opportunity of any national disaster to try and enslave us? They already do. I personally do not believe that there is any "If" to the question. The only questions are, "When?" and "To what degree?"

And, of course, there is another question: "When the break-up comes, how many Americans understand the principles of liberty enough, and are personally prepared enough, and are willing enough to resist whatever power it may be that seeks to place us under the thumb of oppression and fight for the same protections and vanguards of liberty that first established this land?" Obviously, the answer to that question is yet to be determined, isn't it?

In 2001, the Observer in London published a series of reports that claimed an “Iraqi connection” to al-Qaeda, even describing the base in Iraq where the training of terrorists took place and a facility where anthrax was being manufactured as a weapon of mass destruction. It was all false. Supplied by US intelligence and Iraqi exiles, planted stories in the British and US media helped George Bush and Tony Blair to launch an illegal invasion which caused, according to the most recent study, 1.3 million deaths.

Something similar is happening over Iran: the same syncopation of government and media “revelations”, the same manufacture of a sense of crisis. “Showdown looms with Iran over secret nuclear plant”, declared the Guardian on 26 September. “Showdown” is the theme. High noon. The clock ticking. Good versus evil. Add a smooth new US president who has “put paid to the Bush years”. An immediate echo is the notorious Guardian front page of 22 May 2007: “Iran’s secret plan for summer offensive to force US out of Iraq”. Based on unsubstantiated claims by the Pentagon, the writer Simon Tisdall presented as fact an Iranian “plan” to wage war on, and defeat, US forces in Iraq by September of that year – a demonstrable falsehood for which there has been no retraction.

The official jargon for this kind of propaganda is “psy-ops”, the military term for psychological operations. In the Pentagon and Whitehall, it has become a critical component of a diplomatic and military campaign to blockade, isolate and weaken Iran by hyping its “nuclear threat”: a phrase now used incessantly by Barack Obama and Gordon Brown, and parroted by the BBC and other broadcasters as objective news. And it is fake.

On 16 September, Newsweek disclosed that the major US intelligence agencies had reported to the White House that Iran’s “nuclear status” had not changed since the National Intelligence Estimate of November 2007, which stated with “high confidence” that Iran had halted in 2003 the programme it was alleged to have developed. The International Atomic Energy Agency has backed this, time and again.

The current propaganda-as-news derives from Obama’s announcement that the US is scrapping missiles stationed on Russia’s border. This serves to cover the fact that the number of US missile sites is actually expanding in Europe and the “redundant” missiles are being redeployed on ships. The game is to mollify Russia into joining, or not obstructing, the US campaign against Iran. “President Bush was right,” said Obama, “that Iran’s ballistic missile programme poses a significant threat [to Europe and the US].” That Iran would contemplate a suicidal attack on the US is preposterous. The threat, as ever, is one-way, with the world’s superpower virtually ensconced on Iran’s borders.

Iran’s crime is its independence. Having thrown out America’s favourite tyrant, Shah Reza Pahlavi, Iran remains the only resource-rich Muslim state beyond US control. As only Israel has a “right to exist”in the Middle East, the US goal is to cripple the Islamic Republic. This will allow Israel to divide and dominate the region on Washington’s behalf, undeterred by a confident neighbour. If any country in the world has been handed urgent cause to develop a nuclear “deterrence”, it is Iran.

As one of the original signatories of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, Iran has been a consistent advocate of a nuclear-free zone in the Middle East. In contrast, Israel has never agreed to an IAEA inspection, and its nuclear weapons plant at Dimona remains an open secret. Armed with as many as 200 active nuclear warheads, Israel “deplores” UN resolutions calling on it to sign the NPT, just as it deplored the recent UN report charging it with crimes against humanity in Gaza, just as it maintains a world record for violations of international law. It gets away with this because great power grants it immunity.

Obama’s “showdown” with Iran has another agenda. On both sides of the Atlantic the media have been tasked with preparing the public for endless war. The US/Nato commander General Stanley McChrystal says 500,000 troops will be required in Afghanistan over five years, according to America’s NBC. The goal is control of the “strategic prize” of the gas and oilfields of the Caspian Sea, central Asia, the Gulf and Iran – in other words, Eurasia. But the war is opposed by 69 per cent of the British public, 57 per cent of the US public and almost every other human being. Convincing “us” that Iran is the new demon will not be easy. McChrystal’s spurious claim that Iran “is reportedly training fighters for certain Taliban groups” is as desperate as Brown’s pathetic echo of “a line in the sand”.

During the Bush years, according to the great whistleblower Daniel Ellsberg, a military coup took place in the US, and the Pentagon is now ascendant in every area of American foreign policy. A measure of its control is the number of wars of aggression being waged simultaneously and the adoption of a “first-strike” doctrine that has lowered the threshold on nuclear weapons, together with the blurring of the distinction between nuclear and conventional weapons.

All this mocks Obama’s media rhetoric about “a world without nuclear weapons”. In fact, he is the Pentagon’s most important acquisition. His acquiescence with its demand that he keep on Bush’s secretary of “defence” and arch war-maker, Robert Gates, is unique in US history. He has proved his worth with escalated wars from south Asia to the Horn of Africa. Like Bush’s America, Obama’s America is run by some very dangerous people. We have a right to be warned. When will those paid to keep the record straight do their job?
